Thread: Why Master Doc?

What's the point of going Master Doc, when someone with 0/2/3/0 can buff just as good as a master. Shouldn't a Master be able to only buff using the d'packs ? I see a lot of people with just 0/2/3/0 just buying their packs d's and buffing everyone for 2500 a stat. I mastered doc to get what? a couple of schematics?

I agree, MD's should be the only ones able to use d-level buffs and they should be the only ones able to res imo. I'd also like to see an improved first aid skill for MD's.

This would indeed make Master Doc more desireable, but woulddestroy the market for those Master Docs that are making a good living selling Enhance D's. Be careful what you wish for. There is a sacrifice either way.

There will still be a market (albeit smaller) for Enhance D's. Some people hate to craft and will always look to buy.

I guess given one skill in the doc tree I'd like to see made exclusive to MD's it'd have to be res.

Actually your buffs (as all medpacks)are based off your wound treatment skill level too, and a Master Doctor gets +25 to wound treatment. Most of the buffs are based off the quality of the enhance packs, but a Master Doctor will get the higher buffs alot more often. Plus I don't normally sell my enhance packs either, I know alot of MD's that don't. I've spent too much time and money (my precious) to sell them for less than I would get for buffing. I see 6 enhance D packs with 25 charges each to be a equal to 150,000 credits, and all I need to do is wait for people to line up for the buffs (and they do). Most people won't pay 25K for 1 enhance pack, when they aren't going to get as good a result as if I apply the buff.

It is my firmly held belief that the reason so many of things that should only be available to high level doc is available to much lower doctors(Enhanced D, Rez), and even medics(Stim B, Stim E) is because Dev want these things to be widely available to reduce downtime and they expect it to play much bigger part.

If you ask me, I'd rather get Enhanced E at Master doc than move Enhanced D to master doc.

If the Devs modify the enhances to no longer fluctuate as was mentioned then we should no longer have this issue.

A 0/2/3/0 will only be able to enhance for the power of the pack+ their meager wound treatment modifier.

As a master doctor you will have 100% wound treatment giving you twice the affect as those minor doctors.

Nope not correct because now that the bio enginered clothe are working (my clothe puts gets me up to 156 in wound treatment) they can just were them when buffing and then put on their krayt composite when then.

Then they are exatly as good as a normal master doctor, and thus making master doctor once again completely useless ( unless you make a living making things )

Good point. Wonder if Master Doctor wear them if they buff for 300% instead of 200%. That would be very interesting.

I hope it doesn't cap. Otherwise as you said Master of any skill would be useless considering the skill tapes. Now if with these skill takes I can consistantly buff for 2700+, I wouldn't mind if someone who is 0/2/3/0 can buff for 1700.

Can't wait to test it.
