A big problem with this game is that a lot of professions gain very little for mastery, so then the question becomes why master anything? Indeed.

I agree that master doctor is almost only for schematics for enhance D substat . and the 25 point to wound treatment but it's value is lowered by enhancement cloth.


i think what should be done aboutit is the following ( or some of them):


- Enhance D and ress pack med use should be in the 90s


- medical assembly skill and experimentation should change to add 5 per level of doctor medicin crafting branch and get 25 points in master - this is important since medical crafting is probobly the only line where master tech is enough to be the best crafter.


- optionally move ressurect to master

I agree that Resurrection and Enhance D's should be usable only at Master. It still probably wouldn't curb the number of people (especially melee) going Doctor just to buff themselves, but it'd make Mastering the prof more desirable.


Personally Mastering was worth it to me just so I wouldn't have to beg people to sell me Enhance D's, and so I can either (a) turn down or (b) charge the people begging *me* to make them Enhance D's.


Res kits I'll buy if I'm near a bazaar, they're cheap and I'd rather use the resources I have on me for stims and buffs on the run.

well, master doc is for those that want to make everything themselves. I am 4440 and have a friend who makes everything for me. But even at master Doc, I couldn't craft like she does. She has skill. But my alt is going to be master doc when I drop it soon. Sometimes you just need to be able to craft yourself.


And you get a Fancy Title. I do think that Master doc also gets some slight bonuses. like healing poison a bit more efectively.

If all you consider a doctor to be is A "Enhancer" then yes you are correct. I find it funny that you dont list healing poison, disease, and reviving characters.


A doctor in a high end group will be the most effective if away from city more than 2km. Many mobs cause poison, disease, and yup will kill you.

My real problem with the class at the moment is it doesnt have enough payoff for the points spent. All a master doc can really do is:


PvE


1) Res: nice but with good pet controll and skilled players you dont need it.


2) Cure disease/poison: with pets and TKA's (with the next patch really improving a tk's ability to tank) neither is an issue. Pets just need to be stored and recalled and tk's can meditate.


3) Buffs: these are nice


Note: all 1 hunting group needs is a single doc bot and they are fine. All the in-combat healing needs can be met by players themselves or a cm or 2.


PvP


1) Mind damage is the only kind that matters. Docs cant heal it.


2) CM aepoison far outstrips any doc's ability to cure. One cm has no problem outmatching 2 or 3 docs.



Essentially I would like to either see more "active" abilities for docs or the class converted wholly into a pure crafter. As it is now, the class just cant do enough in the field.

In my opinion the simple Developmental "fix" for this whole issue is to IMPLEMENT ENHANCE E's and put them as master doctor "certification" required.


Heck, make them enhance our combatant friends into the 6k range, so that PLAYER toons can take a "main tank" rolelike they should be, instead of everyone hiding behind Graul Maulers etc. What a concept. Not to mention that we can draw out the duration and strategy in PvP a little longer without playing around with how much more % to nerf/de-nerf pvp damage to every patch.

We hide behind graul maulers because graul maulers have a 10k mind pool which can be fully healed in 1/4 of a second. Until the issues with mind damage is REALLY fixed (allowing the closest thing to a griefing class the ability to heal mind for others by wounding themselves isn't going to do jack, cause its not going to happen) pets will be the only tenable way in this game to tank any mob that requires a group in the first place.

Nooooo! Don't change this...


Not only is itGREAT that there is a market for buff packs but by making 0430 (or less) worthwhile that free's up skill points for those that don't want to be master doctors. I really think it's very well thought out and balanced right now.


I would like to see Master Doctor have a few perks but don't change the whole class balance.


Basically, you are complaining that you don't have to spend more skill points to be a useful Doctor.

That comes in two ways.. after all. If I spent forever trying to become the best that I can be, it is quite heartbreaking to know that someone else can be 15/16th of what I am just by getting 4/3.


I can't really talk, after all, i am just a Novice Doctor. But I do plan on mastering it, sherely because its just what I want to do. Chef's stink, combat is ... repetetive. I guess so is healing.. but you never know how fast someone can die if it wasn't for a medic of some sort.


Again, cant talk much, as i am Novice Chef, Master Artisan, Novice Weaponsmith, Master Medic, Novice Doctor, and going to be Novice CM (gonna have to drop... something.. ). Kinda silly for me to say much.


Disagree with the whole revive thing, but agreed, there should be some serious uprifts to Mastering.


As for the whole Buffing issue, I still dont even have a clue. LoL. But, I'll find out soon, and probably will wind up saying the same as the other masters on here...
