I'm not sure I understand the problem, you're complaining because our skills are wanted? Surf some of the other profession forums and see how broken/unappreciated some of them are. I'd rather have a lot of /tells requesting my help than none.

Besides, if you don't want those requests just change your tag and go /afk

Greetings,

The best way to stay off unwanted buffing (or healing, or teaching) requests is just to change your title to something else: even “Novice Medic” will do the trick. However, there is a lot of money (something that I and many of my fellow doctors always seem to be short on ...) to be had in buffing strangers. At either a flat rate (1k per stat seems to be the going rate on Lowca) or one that compensates for the gosh-awful variance in our buffs (one credit per point buffed is my fee, and most all folks find it reasonable) you’ll find yourself pulling in more than enough money to buy some nice meats, resources, or a fancy new outfit (we must look snazzy while healing, you know). Once a fighter-type sees what another 2000 points into their sub-stats can do, you’ll have a dedicated customer!

The only time I could see someone not wanting to buff for credits is if you’re physically low on packs - In which case tell them you’ll be back with more later, and ask if they have any avian meat!

I have it in my profile that I will not sell stims, I will not buy stims, and I will not buff you.

I try to buff people whenever they ask and I try to be polite about it, I'm annoyed when people don't understand that there is a very large variable in buffs. I'm willing to give a partial refund if they ask but not everyone who is master doctor and buff over 3000 guarantee everytime. I even get people who say that they'll make sure I never get any business or storm off saying it was a waste of money, in my opinion I have a good average (that's just me probably, there's always room for improvement) and I use all the best resources I can get. The people who appreciate the effort that goes into making them or are just happy to get buffs when they can't find a doc they come to me, I won't hesitate to provide them with this service even more so if I know them well as long as neither of us has to run a rediculous distance to meet. I should try that system with 1 cred per buffed stat but I get problems with a cheaper doc appearing and people get pissed at me. Lol I like to be a support profession but some people really know how to make you fell useless ...may all you other docs that buff have better experiences then me

A buff is a buff.. they shouldnt bitch, if they think they can do better let them spend weeks grinding and healing their way to Master Doc.

Personally I like hanging out with fighter/tank types, have them pay me 5k for a set of buffs, then they get killed andrevived10 minutes later, then I charge them another 5k for another set of buffs -

I try not to laugh about the whole thing, but it is difficult sometimes.

I try to explain to people that buffing is like slicing you never know what you are going to get. They seem to understand that, and I have yet too get a gumble, not that one would phase me. I got used to the fact that all kinds of people play this game and *most* are good naturedand understanding. But you seem to get alot of the knuckleheads, sorry to hear that. My advice tell em upfront, slicers don't give a discount if the attribute isn't what they wanted, niether will I, (unless its a really poor buff,or using bad buffsI'm not a complete money grubber)

I hate people that just walk up and exclaim "Buff?"

No chit chat, not talk what so ever. Not even a hello. "Buff? Buff?"

My response is always, "No I'm, not that buff which is why I became a medic to stitch my own wounds. Turned into a profession it did."
