Thread: You know guys I think it is about time buff prices go up.
Why don't we wait until such time as we see whats going to happen, and if buffs will still be in as much demand?
Yes, yes, I know the price for our meat has gone through the roof, but, its too little, too late, to be raising prices right before the rumored nerf.
Either way I agree 10k is low after the most recent meat prices and the time invested in getting all the resources needed to make good buff packs.
Aldric
People STILL paid.
Then I raised it to 20k an hour later. People still paid, sure not a line waiting for it, but they still did pay.

If you want to raise your prices, that is up to you. If you do not feel you are making enough profit, then it is your right to charge whatever you feel is appropriate. If the public wants to pay it, they will. That is the way a free market balances supply and demand.
However, coming here and trying to get everyone to do the same is a bad idea. You can justify buff prices anyway you want. You can make outrageous claims about how people can get multi-million credit Krayt Pearls with your buffs, but that is disingenuous. I have killed or helped kill a couple of dozen Krayts, but I have never gotten a pearl. Are you going to give me a refund if I go out to get a Krayt Pearl using your buffs and do not get one? Even if I did get one, did you buff everyone in the group that I almost certainly had with me when I killed it; therefore, giving you some claim to helping in the overall kill? Do you adjust your buff prices higher for people going out getting high value loot vs. lower prices for some new player just trying to survive against durnis and butterflies? Do your costs go up simply because someone is going to use your buffs to get high value loots?
Coming here and trying to get others to go along with your pricing is, indeed, price fixing. We hate when people do it to us, so why would we do it to others? It is also counter-productive.
We charge higher buff prices, and they charge higher prices for Avian meat and other resources. This raises the costs of producing buffs, which increaseyour costs if you produce your own andineveitably raises the costs ofbuff packs for those who buy them instead. Smugglers use the same logic to charge higher prices for slicing, chefs use the same logic to charge more for food. All prices go up, and we are right back where we were. We have more money in our accounts, but only temporarily have greater buying power because eventuallly the market will level prices at the new higher level, and you will be back here asking people to raise their prices again, causing another round of inflation.
If your costs go up and you cannot make a profit, then by all means, charge what you feel is necessary. If you feel you need to get more for your time raise your prices. The market will decide if it is the correct price. But do not ask the rest of us to price fix, because it only leads to economic disaster.
My buff prices will remain at 10k for the public.

A couple of people have told me "I can get them for 8K!!" ..i say great.. go do that.. hehe.. usually they reply with a "But i dont want to go all the way back to corronet"... and i reply "Sucks to be you then.. cya"
I find buffing newbies to be the most fun, they geuinely appreciate it. Even a 1000 pnt buff makes their day (i buff them for free).
They havent worked out that they can run off and make 500K-1Mil credits with my 10K 2300+ 3hour buff on Dant/Dath.
