Well........let me first say that I resent being called a quack.

I can't afford two accounts, and I'm not willing to give up a fighting profession to get enough scout and artisan to harvest good resources. Read a few other posts, some docs prefer to craft and buff, other prefer to heal and fight.

There's no solid place to buy your buffs, vendors come and go. On Eclipse, the typical buff vendor lasts probably two months, with decent stock, then they either run out of customers or get bored with doing nothing but healing and running factories. Your best bet is to find a doc crafter who doesn't want to fight, and hire him to make your buffs. That's primarily what I do.

Either that, or make your own, ducky.

Maybe thats the case on ecllipse definately not on my server,I profide buffpacks for the people for almost 1 and a half year, vendor always stocked except when i am on vacation it's unstocked for maybe 1 week. So i totally disagree with you on the no solid place to buy buffpacks and as you can see he is from Chimeara. And not only me, there are 2 or 3 other long time buffpack sellin docs on my server.

You guys are lucky, then. I applaud you for sticking by it...........since I'm a non-crafting doc, I doubly applaud you. I can count the steady buff vendors on 1 finger, on Eclipse.......and still have room left over, sometimes.

Who says crafting docs can't be healers and fighters? I think you're falling for a stereotype.

I craft heal and fight. I just make a big load of buffs for myself everyonce in a while, inc resists and heals/cures and I'm set.

On Bria our biggest med/buffpack crafter pvp's with his toon. I really resent buying his areacures since they're way better than mine and it's the only pvp med Ican't make myself.

Jirob you're just too good

I've tried it, it just depends on the level you want. I mean, to make killer buff packs, you need to be able to hunt some decent-level wildlife, plus have the scouting skills to gather the high quality resources. There's not enough skill points to be able to do that, so you have to resort to buying the good stuff, then spend the time making them.

I do craft my own wound packs, those don't take much of anything to make, and the resources are cheap. Higher level stuff pretty much requires that you have a template with plenty of scout, a non-elite fighting profession, and master doc. Then, if you want to sell the packs you make, you have to lose even more skill points in a fighting proffesion to get enough Artisan to put up a vendor.

Not a stereotype, it's simply adding up the skill points required to be a single-account crafting doc.

I have no scout (not even on my alt), and I'm a major meds crafter on my server. There are other options for getting resources. A doc can master a combat profession and still have enough SP left to pick up scout or artisan. Even without scout or artisan, there are ways to get the resources. My meds are among the best on my server, and I am still a combat oriented character. There's no rule that says that you have to run the vendor yourself either. If you need skills that you don't have, make arrangements with players who do have them. That's what multi-player games are all about.

I can harvest 10k (enough to make a crate of about 50 buffsets)of herbivore meat in about 4 hours, did it recently on endor with the last good spawn, that's with scout 0010 and a spin attack macro. I know it's slow and painful but if its only done once every couple of months then its not so bad, and a lot easier than sitting and buffing people, I can't take more than 2 minutes of that before I go crazy.

Avian is a pain in the neck so unless it's lok or somewhere where I can get over 20 units a kill, then I don't really bother or get friends to help.

As for artisan, you only have to look at swgcraft.com to find a great resource, then spend a few mins changing from novice scout then shuttle hop a few times before you find a sweet spot to stick down a harvester or two.

I know its not an instant solution to getting ready to craft but it must be easier and quicker than running missions/looting for cash to buy resources.

I'd recommend to new docs who just grinded medic/doc to start off with a couple sets of buffpacks from a vendor, then get into the mindset of always looking for a resource. It's surprising how fast you'll gather what you need.
