Thread: War on Tumblers!
/voted retarded
How the hell are new Docs supposed to Master their profession in the age of charactershardly ever getting wounded? Especially sincea few of youguys want to move /healenhance to MDoc. I went MDoc thehard way, and it wasn't fun. I also don't care what others do.
You dont want tumblers to get money?
In my opinion, tumblers dont make much money (I for one paid 10K an hour, and was probably paying more than most), so the people tumbling are probably new... I know I wouldn't leave my computer on overnight for 50K.
I rather see new people picking up marksman and tumbling than standing in the starport begging.
Secondly, why dont you like people becoming docs this way?
You want to keep the doctor-numbers down?
It was harder for you to make master doctor and now everyone else has to share your pain?
I don't get it... except for them spamming (which means you have to stop for 5seconds and add them to ignore), what possible reason do you have for not liking them?
The only time I didn't like them was when I came in to the medcenter to get healed before I was doc, and everyone was busy healing tumblers.
Is this a good enough reason to buff their secondaries and post threads with subjects like: "was on tumblers"? In my opinion, no!
You may be right, tumblers might be destroying the game completly, but it seems to me like about everyone is disagreeing with you, so it is up to you to prove to us why you believe that is the case (right now I think you just needed something to complain about, and you chose tumblers).
I used to think like this too, but there is an inherant problem with doing this.
The reson I did it was because I was sick of people not getting healed when they went into the med centers, because the people healing the tumblers would not stop their macro to do it. I was wrong (At least on Scylla this is not entirely true).
The truth is that if you buff the tumblers, then there is No one in the med centers to even attempt to heal the public.
Another truth is that now that everyone is usally buffed, the wounds are just not that big of an issue anymore. In other words there are allot less people that are consistantly looking for wound healing in med centers AND elsewhere.
Yet another truth is that MD's do not usually heal the public anyway, they let the medics and low leveled Docs do this because the MD's do not need the experience any more. The lower level medics and docs ARE the ones in the med centers healing the tumblers, not the MD's.
Now, I do not like the tumblers either... But this is because of MY opinions about how I feel leveling a profession should be. To me this method just gets you there faster, but you do not really enjoy the profession on the way up by associating with the public like it was meant to be.

Nobody is going to deny that tumblers cheapen the medic/doc professions and make it much easier to do. People do get reported for that so if your going to do it you better buff all their stats (since your wasting charges anyways) but that isn't going to solve the problem. We could start a thread "I'm sick of paying XXX cpu for Avian meat" and try to protest by not buying any but that wouldn't change anything.
When I first decided to finish out medic and take up doctor i figured it was going to take a couple of weeks based on my experience at launch. I got to the Coronet Med Center and was amazed to see no less than 3 tumblers going at it. (this was a rare thing way back)
So I bought about 5k/ea of some resources to make cheap stim-a's and what not and started crafting those. Meanwhile I'd be using these cheap POS's on the tumblers. Once I was able though I crafted up some wound packs for real patients that came in.
I originaly expected to be grinding on real patients the whole time but real patients were few and far between. With a half dozen doc's and or medics in the house, there was rarely a call to those I crafted. In fact without the tumblers the med center would have been empty.
In the end the med centers with would be medics and doc's and tumblers are their own little economy that seems to work and keeps the med centers populated so that when real patients come along there's someone there to help them.

1/ Its not an exploit just like healing dancers/entertainers
2/ its retarded doing that as has been said
3/ It does not ruin the profession
4/ I Bet you got Doc the same way and if your not a Doc then **edit** and go away and try lvling doc without doing that
yes In your Opinion, soon I think it wont work to get Medical XP when you heal a tumbler.
And it is LOADS of ppl that is looking for one.!

How about a war on griefers like you? how exactly are they exploiting and ruining the profession? do yourealise that what you are doing is griefing and they can report you to a CSR? quit trying to force your opinions down peoples throats.
The spam can get annoying but thats why the dev's invented /addignore, use it and quit griefing.
