I have been wondering, because I want to go into crafting instead of buffing, can I, as a Master Doc with 10 points of experimentation compete with Master Doc's with 12 points of experimentation?

IMO with very good resources yes you can.. I do it and consistantly make the same product or better in some cases... you just have to put some effort into it...

The tough thing will be making med use 90 buff packs as well as the 12 pointers..

You see, it takes a point away from effectiveness in order to move the use down sub 90. The extra points allow you to make a buff pack as strong as a fully effectivenees experimented buff pack.

But I have never had a problem competing as the demand is high.

as a 10-pt master doc, I make "decent" packs given the resources on kettemoor (by no means bad resources, but lacking in some areas). My good packs are about 860's. I can use all my experimentation points into effectiveness, and if I wanted to easily get the meduse down to 90. Instead I put it into charges, and i think that that is where the noticable difference is. So either meduse 90 with basic charges @ 10-pt, or higher meduse and more charges @ 10-pt, or meduse90 and high charges @ 12-pt, or a TON of charges @ 12-pt with higher meduse.

Im an 11 point doc and have found that it is nice to have that extra point. It does make it so i can easily get my buff packs to 90 med use and get max power / durationor get an extra charge or two out of my 90+ use packs. Becoming an 11 point doc costed me about 3 mil with my 5 +1 tapes and my apron, but im sure you could do it for less. Becoming a 12 point doc would end up costing me probably another 15 mil, so it really isnt worth it, nor can i afford it.

You can compete with the 12 pointers easily, for the price you might as well become an 11 pointer. Then you really wouldnt have any trouble at all. Maybe just 1-2 charges left on your highest quality buff packs, but thats about it.

This is a stupid question

of course a 12 point doc has advantage over a 10 point doc

u can try and compete, and probly get close , but in reality you'll never get as good meds if u have 10 points and the other doc has 12

Yeh u can go on about better resources lalala but lets face it, all good docs use the best they can get, thats you and the 12 point doc

the 12 point doc is obviously in it for the long run, so there fore is likely to have got good resources too.

thats my 2 cents

Good thing you're not an ass to him. If you feel like being a jerk and making logical flaws then why not troll somewhere other than a thread looking for advice.

Competing with other doctors is simply being in a high traffic area and being cordial to those that you see as regular customers. I am now 11 points (doc for about 7 months now) and was 10 points til about 2 weeks ago. I never had a problem selling even when my stuff was priced as much as the guy right next to me. If your server has an insatiable need for buffs like Tempest then just find a high traffic area, post on the trade forums of your server, and you should have no problem selling your wares.

Yes 12 points will be better but you can certainly compete with them with only 10 points.

Another vote for 11 points but not nessicarily 12.

I have 11 and if I were to sell buff packs, the 11th point would be crucial. Maxing power/duration will always take 10 points (assuming great successes and decent resources) and that last, extra pointis the difference between a 92 pack (sells pretty well) and a 90 pack (sells like hotcakes.)

An apron and +5 in assorted tapes should cost you no more than a few million.

What could I do with a 12th point? I could make my stims have an extra charge .. (42 to 43, oooh ahhh.) I could make all my buffs have an extra charge, which would be nice of course, 31 to 32. I could bump up my ABEC's power by one or two (charges already maxed) so my buffs would be ~2-5 points stronger.

Right now higher med exp skill tapes on my server go for in excess of 1mil per point. Its not worth 10+mil for me to get that tiny bit of strength or that 3-5% increase in charges.

One more charge in each of the six buff packs= 10,000 more credits per pack, if you're a buffer. You'd need to buff 1,000 people to make back your 10,000,000 investment in full. You'd need to sell even more if you're selling packs to other doctors.

As a 10-point crafter/buffer, you'd be better off sacrificing a point of power and getting another charge. A 2200 buff is just as good as a 2300 to most people.

MY POINT IS THIS:

12 POINTS IS AN ADVANTAGE OVER 10 POINTS WHEN CRAFTING , U CANT ARGUE THAT

The original Question this thread posted is about Crafting not Selling , soU CANT COMPETE

Thats like saying will my GTI be good to beat a FERRARI

Whether it s worth the effort and money is another story

You combined parts from my 11point discussion and my 12point discussion. Just want to make sure there was no confusion:

11 points = worth it. All you need are a few +1/+2 and an apron

12 points = not worth it IMO. Thats a several +3+ which cost multimillions a pop.
