#1 Rule... DO NOT BUFF WITHOUT CONSENT

I just had some ridiculous newbie doctor buff my action for 596 in bestine without any consent or him even saying anything. Now instead of hunting, I have to wait for this crap to wear off or die. Then I proceed to tell him not to do it anymore to only get flamed by everyone around saying it's acceptable and he's just getting xp to people calling me (the master doctor) a newb for having a problem with it. Even getting flamed by my own guildmates for making a very clear example NOT to do this. This bug absolutely must be fixed to have consent for buffs and it is my hope that future hologrining newbie doctors don't act like children and say things like "if i had any more packs, i'd buff those too!".

This one will get one of my top five votes next time. I never wear my master doc tag because of the tell h*ll it invokes. So maybe these people just don't realize that I could buff myself much better than their rather small grind level buffs. It's happened to me three times now, and I've berated the person who did it each time.

Each time the person started out not understanding...they all say "hey, but it's free". And I reply with: no, it wastes my time finding someone to rez me, or to wait out the buff. I think I yelled at those three people enough that they won't do it again. I justtold them to get a non-CH pet and buff away....

Well, I gave this guy hell and everyone there was ignorant enough to side with him no matter what and continued to call me a newbie for doing it. This is certainly a tremendous problem, as I don't want to wait an hour and a half for some weak action buff to wear off. What makes it worse is not only did people side with him, but he also decided to get angry and decide just for that, he'll continue to do what he's doing...sigh...if only I was a dev/moderator..so...many....bans....

Well I'll tell you this:
When I first got the ability to use and craft Enhances I was really excited, it was one of the things I was really looking forward to. So I sit in the med center and craft away. The next 3 people I heal I give them free buffs as a bonus, thinking I'm doing them a favour. Nobody batted an eyelid and I thought nothing of it.
I visit the Doctor Forum and read up on things and discover the bad side to this, I realise what I did could have really ruined someones game session, and after that I always asked people and told them it'd not be a good buff.

My point is how was I supposed to know the ins and outs of Buffs? There is no helpful pop-up that comes up when you get new skills that explains it all. (That Holocron really needs a re-working!)

So until consent checks are put in, just remember that new Doctors more than likely won't know what they are doing is harmful.

I agree that some new docs may not know this, this is a main reason for this post...however, when I confronted this guy, he decided he would keep doing it (with the cheering of the crowd) just to piss me off...

a 60 action buff to go to dath, awesome

Also, being a doctor, my health and action are both 600, so a crappy buff is pretty much a guaranteed way to kill me if i go to any planet

Unfortunately some people on Kettemoor are doing this to harass others (As they could do much better exp in a fraction of the time) by sitting at Theed, waiting for people to load from the shuttle sequence and stealth buffing them there, without consent and pathetic buffs (100-300)

There is absolutely no way of preventing them from doing so. In a way this is a definite form of grieving and the CSR/DEV team couldn't seem to care less or they would've dropped a hotfix ages ago for the problem.

I guess it's time to start looking for a new game.

Usually most people are quite happy with a free buff, but the problem is that some people want a higher level buff, having the n00b buff means that they cant get the Master level buff.

Its a shame that people complain about people trying to get xp, but I agree, a concent system would be good as some people want to buff themselves or someone else to do it.

Thank goodness this isn't happening too much on Valcyn. And yeah you never know who is a master doc, I stood outside of theed last night asking for a buff when i get a tell from someone wearing a master medic tag. Needless to say she was a master doc judging from the buffs I got and just didnt want the tell hell of wearing her tag! Can't wait until I can buff myself and my friends but even they will get the warning that they may not be the best right away.

But yeah sticking a low level buff on some unsuspecting person to me is griefing, heck I even ask if I can heal people while waiting for the shuttle! Guess I am just being overly careful.

i have 2 charecters one is a master medic, doc and cm, (my son likes playing him when he's there).

so any time i leave to go off world i make sure i log him in buff myself and go hunting.

I actually had a newb doctor fuss at me as i was loading into my destination starport that he couldn't buff me and wanted to know why. i politely told him i didn't want his crappy buffs, don't buff someone with out their permission and never ever fuss at me again because i had the intelligence to have a master buff me.

he then proceeded to rant rave and made teh mistake of challenging me to a duel...... needless to say TKA, buffed by a competent doctor who still had the remains of power boost running, tore him every which way from sunday. and i had even forgotten to put my armour on for it.

but back to the point i whole heartedly agree do not buff someone unless they ask or consent to it.

Unwanted buffing is bad, besides you 100 point action buff is going to net you a whole 50 xp. Go to a tavern and heal wounds. Wound pack b's heal upwards of 150 and are cheap. The xp is much better as well at low skill levels. For every 100 wounds heal you get 250 xp. People beg for wound healing too.
