Thread: Docs NEED resists to poison/disease....

I'm sorry, but after getting hit with mind poisons AND diseases that stackfrom different combat medics, I find it hard to belive people are saying compbat medics need to be un-nerfed. With combat medics hitting for so much damage and docs actually starting to use poison and diease heals, we are the main targets for CM's. 4 out of 4 PvP raids and I was singled out by the CM and poisened and diseased to the point where all I could do was sit there with my armor off and pray I didn't die. And I was buffed with muon and food as well. We need a resists or SOMETHING to counter these **edit** mind attacks. Agree?

I don't know what all the fuss is about. I guess I'll have to corner a master CM and make him demonstrate his 1337 skillzzz on me. I haven't found a disease or poison yet that didn't take only one application to cure.

Maybe I just haven't been /really/ diseased or poisoned yet.

There are really several issues involved here. One has to do wtih Mind Damage, which should no longer be something special after the combat revamp. Also, as was mentioned, there is the DoT revamp coming around as well, to make DoTs more in line with other combat forms. Now that is likely a tw-edged sword. On the one hand it should futher raise resists to poisons and disease with certain armor and such. As well as the range reduction on DoTs to keep them inside the 64m combat range. On the other hand it may also bring CM DoTs more in line with the power of the other combat forms, which means DoTs should actually get stronger. As it is while some folks think poisons can kill in 3 seconds, the truth of the matter is that the Damage per Second of a singular ranged poison is very low compared to other combat forms.

Now it could be argued that DPS is MUCH higher when AoE is taken into consideration, but tactics must be involved for that to work. However, that being said, I do think AoE DoTs need a proper counter, such as an AoE (centered around the Doc only) cure or some form of "immunization" packs that would, effectively, provide a temporary boost to resistance to poison and.or disease.

Of course all of this is on the Issues list and I do reccomend voting for any of them that are important to you,

In all, however, there are a lot of complaints about CMs, many of them unfounded, IMHO, because folks just didn't use the best tactics and didn;t have the proper counter to a CM around, and that would be a Doc. Overall, though, the whole point is simply moot. Talking about getting something to change that is already int he process of changing isn't going to be very productive. We need to wait and see exactly what changes come about with the Combat and DoT Revamps in the next few months before we can really push such issues any further. The whole face of combat is changing so these old arguments will simply no longer apply.

Just as a little tip for you, i ALWAYS turn of my doctor title (any title for that matter) in pvp. When someone sees the doctor title, they know who to go for.

(not really on topic i know, sorry)

Yes I can cure diease/poisons in one hit as well, but when I get 3 of each stacked on my ass I'm down...and no I don't go in wearing my doc tag.

Dont rant to much on it yet.Their are already working on combat overhaul, and its been noted that bleeds and dots ignore armor at the moment. Considering a doc can load their mind stats and the buff there other bars themselves allowing the least amount of trouble putting on great armor. I'm sure when dots are affected by armor (when ever that finally comes)those dots wont be as much of a problem.. plus I'm sure their are other changes on the way.So its not worth screaming nerf over yet. Cause you end up ticking alot ppl off that are just tried of hearing nerf this nerf that in general and getting a few flames and name calling, for something thats most likely around the corner anyway. Only problem now is having to grin and bear it till the changes come.I would love to see some changes to but considering the bugs that come with them the last thing I'm screaming right now is hurry up.

Personally, I'd like to see the mind disease/poison balanced with something in doc...like maybe a resistance to them that wouldn't necessarily make the person invulnerable to them, but at least say, put them on a timer? In other words..."You have been (mind) poisoned. Your resistance will expire in 30 seconds."

This gives doc's a chance to respond, as well as heal themselves, and addresses the "stacking" of such attacks.

Also, since CMs can both attack AND heal mind damage, as well as other types of healing, why can't doc's heal mind as well?

Just a thought.... :~)

yeah most docs should get a resist to disease poison. all medical personal are required to get an immunization anyways - that should apply here as well. nothing worse than a mind disease/poison as it isnt easily healable and we need it to do our thing.

I'm sorry, Agent...what is "necroposting"?

I just happened to look in my history, and realized that this was something that had been brought forth, and wanted to reply. The reply was rather short because I was holding a screaming 5 month old on my lap at the time.

Did I do something wrong?

Necroposting is replying to an old and outdated thread. This thread was over 8 months old.
