Thread: Pet stims will be able to heal mind damage ?
Just read a post on the Test Center forum that the bio-eng pet stims will heal all 3 HAM pools, including MIND damage !
Why don't doctors get the same advantage with our stimpacks ? Is medicine more advanced for pets in the Star Wars universe ?
If this goes live, here's a few suggestion on healing mind damage (on players)
1)Include mind damage healing onStimpack E (gives us a reason to make them since we only did for pets in the first place)
2) New Ability: Heal Mind damage in the Treatment Speed line between Cure poison and Cure disease.
3) New schematics to manufacture Mind enhancement packs (maybe Focus and Willpower too)
Comments welcome )
I have a thought on this issue. At first I was a little bugged at the idea that bio-engies would get it and not docs, but then I figured, what the heck. As long as someone has it, I'll be happy. And, it kind of makes sense that bio-engies would create the most advanced meds in the game. Also, increases class interdependence, which I think is always good in multi-player games. Only thing is, bio-engie stimpak that heals all three HAM bars should heal for much less than the doc Stim D/E. Maybe the top of that line would heal for an equivalent amount to Stim B. (Remeber, an experimented Stim B can often fully heal an unbuffedplayer in two shots). Maybe give bio-engies some mind/focus/willpower enhance medpaks similar to the docs' enhance health/action/stam/str/con/quick medpaks.
Oh, wait - are the bio-engie meds ONLY useable on pets? If so, that's completely stupid. For one thing, pets have MASSIVE pools to begin with. For another thing, give CH's a reason to keep buying critters from Bio-engies - have them die once in awhile lol. By giving bio-engies pet healing stims that heal mind, you practically make the pets invincible. As far as I can tell anyhow. All this would accomplish is to give pets an even bigger advantage against players (other than having like 5k or 10k HAM).
If the bio-engie meds could be used on other players, then it'd be alright. But if they are pet-only, it makes CH's even more completely UBER. I see more CH's than any other single class of player in the game already. Pet's are just EVERYWHERE I go.
If this is true, then that's crap. Most of the tmie I am "live and let live", but in this case it is wrong for pets to get mind heals.
The main reason I have heard over and over for not allowing doctors to heal mind was that mind was the factor limiting how long fights could go on. And for the most part I agreed. However, If you can healall three poolson a pet and that pet is tanking, then where is the limit on the combat? It's wrong for them to put a limit on PC's and then repeal that limit on pets.
lol havent u learned? the fanbois all lvoe pets...SOE will do nothing to piss them off and lose money...
lol basically look for unkillable totally healable, pets with 9000+ HAMs...
and then count how many players are left...
SWG: A zoo unleashed...
Yes, the bio-eng stims are to heal pets only. Animal petsget better healing possibilty than players lol !
Next I figure that SOE will come out with a stim for faction pets only with mind healing included 8-).
Seriously, that pet stim is totaly illogical vs our stims. Just my opinion.
lol hey i have an idea.
let's give CHs healing pets so they can heal their master while tanking..
yeah after all CH is totally gimped as it is they soooo need help
Their pets need THEIR OWN pets to do the healing. The CH will be much too busy shouting "I CHOOSE YOU!" to worry about healing his mob's olympic sized HAM-pool.
All dripping sarcasm aside. What good is a medic on a hunting trip now?
We have been reduced to rez-monkeys, or buff-monkeys, depending on your preference. And what about the CM's? they can't even do those things.
The only thing important to a group will be a CH with a decent pet, and another CH to help drop stims on the pet.
This was ill-conceived, and unfair to all medics. Let us heal mind too. or take this out of the game.
Critter handlers could always heal their pets mind damage. Yes they could do this in a fight once theycan call multiple pets (spamming pet follow then your trick command if needed), it takes a bit of skill and quick hotkey spamming, but the mindpool is the easiest for a handler to treat for their pets... until the pet gets mind-incapped that is.
While I'm happy the new critter packs will heal mind just enough to revive a fallen pet, I dont' see this change as totally gimping me as a doc (I'm on a path to master doctor/master handler. I don't have any weapon skill, my pets are my sole means of protection besides the cedf I keep handy to destroy lairs with). I see it as just another tool for the handlers and a much needed value add for Bio-engineers (though this probably wasn't the value-add they wanted). Of course, as a doctor I'm jealous, since I'd love to heal the mindpool of my two-legged patients as well, ESPECIALLY after they get incapped.
I think this is being blown a bit out of proportion though. The concept that medics will find less utillity because pet handlers have a much needed abillity to heal their pets is laughable and a bit paranoid, and completely draws attention from the real issue... why as the consumate and focused healer in the game, can't I buff mind attributes, let alone heal their damage. I found it funney in beta that the most quallified person to remidy headwounds was a musician or a stripper, not a paramedic or doctor.
Hard to say it would be overpowered, since pokemo^H^H^H^H^H^H Creature Handlers can heal Rancor-mind.
its obvious from the way the devs development mind wound BF and entertainers that, mind damage has always been about mentaltrauma and shell shock...
with this in mind, i have no idea where the devs got the idea of having mind damage as an attackable pool...omg i attack u with some really mean words and hurt ur feelings making u cry thats mentaltrauma...
hence it made sense that playing with ur pets, doing tricks and stuff healed the mind damage of the pet.
since when did stims heal mental trauma? pets or people?
and since when did a laser to the head cause me mental trauma over the physical trauma?
its just another example of the devs doing stuff half A**ed and not knowing what they heack they were doing
