Thread: I think Doctors should get the AE Stims, what do you think?

Combat Medics get Ranged Stimpacks which are not on par with regular stims (Ranged Stim A is better than a high quality Stim B for example), they get poison for all 9 attributes, disease for all 9 attributes, and AE versions for all of those (for a total of 36 different poison/disease items). They also get an Area Effect Stimpack.


I dunno, while I prefer being a Doctor it just seems a bit wrong for the Combat Medic to have such good healing and offensive capabilities while we as Doctors only get higher end Damage Stimpacks, Enhance packs, Cure Poison, Cure Disease and Revive.


To me it feels right for the Doctor to have an Area Effect Stimpack not the combat medic, what do you think?

As a doctor myself, I don't think we shouldget AEor ranged stims. We doctors are primarily wound healers with the ability to heal and resuscitate. Combat Medic is much harder to get than doctor and ranged and AE are what sets them apart. If someone wants those abilities, then they should have to take that profession. Moving those abilities to the doctor would just blur the line between the two classes, which is a bad thing IMO.


Now, an AE wound pack might be interesting, butI don't know how useful it would be. Or a medecine that heals a variety (one application of a medecine can be used to heal say health, strengthor constitution reducing the need need to carry three different wound packs) or combination of multiple wounds(one application of a medecine can be used to healhealth, strength and constitution) would be nice too.

Nope, I'm okay with it. You do have the points to get Master CM & Master Doctor if you want. I fail to see the problem.

how about this?


Ranged stimpack A usesmore resources than Stimpack B?


Poisons use many different resources (fungi, petrofuel, reactive gas, radioactive material, aluminum) plus the standard organics and inorganics, they get resisted 90% of the time, and whennot resistedthey do no noticeable damage.


Diseases are only useful for griefing (useless in PvE, just for griefing PvP)


Area stimpacks havea radius of like 1'.


Combat medics are a joke right now, only useful thing is ranged healing, and not that much really until master CM.


And we can't revive players, should CM get Revive because we're actually in the field?

In a word....NO


You want Ranged Stims?, go Combat Medic on top of your Doctor. Best of both worlds then. Ranged AE Heals and Revive.

ooooh AE buffs now that wouldnt be a bad master doc skill considering how long it takes to buff...


only one problem...none of the components that docs use, has a AE stat unlike those of the CM components...


more coding = more bugs the way these people work

Heheh, good one, Elenora. Trade us something that doesn't work for something that does!



Doctors don't need ae heals. Because we have revive. The pure combat medic needs them because he can't let anyone die. Doctors just stack the corpses in the corner and get to them when we get the time.
