I am creating aZabrak that will be a future Doctor/Rifleman. I like the idea of healing and combat, and I also like the range that rifles provide. I also want to participate in the GCW. However, after giving it some thought, I am considering going Doctor/Carbineer. Although some range is sacrificed, I would be able to heal the HAM damage caused by carbine specials.

So I guess I want to know, is my Zabrak's high mind regen enough to cover rifle special attacks and healing? Is it better to go for carbines over rifles in this situation?

I would like to hear your thoughts, especially from those that are already Doctor/Riflemen or Doctor/Carbineers.

Thanks in advance.

if i were u i wiuld go master doc/tkm i had one till holo proffesion to me to master tailor lol, so i dropped tkm. dont go rifleman cause there specials use mind and being a doctor u also need mind. Right a tkm/master doc can solo anything i know i was one and that was before they got upgraded in last patch, buffs plus power boost and muron gold equals GOD. just migrate all stats into mind when u get good buffs in doctor.

Hmmm... I never considered TKA...Attacking at range is what I'm into... but I'll definately have to think over TKA now.

Thanks for adding a third option to my brain! ARRRG!! hehe

well if ur really into range attacks, i would have to most def. go Carbineer. the have a unnerfed knock down that was explained by the devs that it was supposed to be like that. its called charge shot. also with scatter shot it does 7x the damage, with laser carb ooo, its nice. U wont have to worry about high ham cost because of buffs. ONe other thing is the have a nice little shot taht if it lands right nothing can catch u and u can solo a krayt dragon. IF ur lucky and land it on the first 3-4 hits lol if not ur prob dead lol.

For fun, I would pick Doc/TKM or Doc/Fencer (love beating people with my crowbar )

For "not being kited in PvP" I would defintely go Doc/Carbineer.

Will the buffs I'll have be enough to cover Carbineer specials, and still have high Mind, Focus, and Willpower? What HAM pool do Carbineer specials take from?

Going doctor / carbineer, if your master doc you can spam specials until you fingers hurt or the mob is dead. Enhance pack D's on action / stamina / quickness and your action bar will not move. Quickness is the one you want through the roof since it effects how much is used in a special. Carbineers love doctors once they have been buffed, I know I have 4 of them in my guild. They now tell me, I've spoiled them when I'm not online to buff them before their hunts.

Cheers!

Nobody is going to chime in for Rifleman? Hmmm... Carbineer might have to be my choice if I go with range. Do you Doctor/TKA's PvP? The general feeling I seem to get is that melee classes don't do as well in PvP. But then again, I've been playing for a week... so who knows.

Unfortunately all Melee classes are at a disadvantage in PvP. To date this game has not been able to solve the problem of kiting....ranged combatants running away from melee'rs, and shooting at them as they do so.

Make no mistake though, if a TKA gets a KD on you, its game over. Most GOOD ranged PvP'ers will never let that happen however.

The reason not any people chime in for Rifleman, is that the rifle specials use Mind HAM...the one set of pools a Doctor cannot buff, AND the pool the doctor needs to use to heal himself. Not to say its a bad combo, (its not bad at all) it just doesnt work as well as the others.
