Thread: secondary profession for a doctor
Master doctor/pistoleer is the one of the most powerful classes in the game...this will become even more true when PvP damage reduction comes out...
that said, any of the advanced weapon classes except for rifle is a good complement to your doctor skills...
conversely there is teh obvious option of going CM which is not as offensive but gives u ranged heals...
Master Doc and Master Combat Medic is not a good combo IMO. I tried it, 3 boxes away from Master CM, and I didn't like it at all. The only thing CM has to offer are the ranged stims, and thats not enough to throw so many Skill Points at.
Just started out on Swordsman a few days ago and is really enyoing it, but the best combo is probably Master Doc and Pistoleer...didn't choose that because i don't wanna be yet annother "one of thoose" ![]()
Just my 2 quacks ![]()
I am a mix of Doctor, Fencer (or at least the brawler part) and Creature Handler.
Works very well for me and suits my style. Your mileage may very ![]()
I'm a Master Doctor with Exploration III (Scout), Carbine IV and Ranged Support III (Marksman), Engineering IV and Surveying IV (Artisan). My intention was to go Master Doctor/Master Carbineer, but I'm having second thoughts.
I will keep Exploration III (fast running up hills) until they introduce mounts and vehicles, because travel skills are vital in the game as it stands. I will keep Surveying IV until I am satisfied with my resource stockpiles (100k stacks of high-quality rares, etc) and no longer need to AFK sample overnight to supplement my harvesters.
With Engineering IV I have been able to land on a planet empty-handed, discover a rare high-quality resource, build multiple harvesters from the resources around me, and leave a little industrial plant behind. It feels resourcefullike a Jedi thing
I am going to surrender Engineering to move up the Carbineer skill tree, but I'm in no hurry. My character is pretty good as she stands.
I don't see any reason to go Master Doctor, the Wound Speed Line is worthless.. Take the other 3 fields up to 4 but leave that out.
That said..
TKA, Doc as stated, Exploration 1, Artisian.
I agree, a bunch of pistol skills and a few other misc skills like surveying to help with resource gathering for medicines is a great way to go. Well balanced. Can solo fairly well, can heal, can help in fights..

As a combat medic I hope a great many doctors take that path
Im going Master doctor/ CH . Most big group keep ya busy healing so I just send my pets and go to work healing . Plus being able to harvest helps on the meds
