it's simple, ppl who tip 0, don't buff them ever again.. and if they annoy you, ignore them forever. If i wasa doc, i'd charge 10k for hte good stuff and 6k for the crappy 1k buffs.

here is what you do in this case:

you go to your server forum and start a post about dishonest players. you list their names say what they have done. they'll get in real trouble.other that when you meet other master doctors online tell them about those people and their actions . they will quickly find themselves denyed service by most doctors on the server.

it works better than you think. some guild on tempest decided todo things that are considered deliquent. after presistant reports of dishonorable deeds done by their members . many people started sanctions on their guild . after a whilethey made the mistake of getting a leading comunity member angry at them .... He pushed a server wide ban on themand practicly every PA's and crafter joined in reguardless of faction . that guild to quickly changed its ways.

and anyways set a standard base price and make people know what it is upfront. if you are unsure if someone pay you ask them tell them you were spamed.

if my friends forget to pay me i won't get angry. i also extend credit to them .

and anyway getting 3000+ every time is almsot imposible tell them exactly what the range of your buffs which you can easily calculate. everyone uses the same system but some people got better packs. if someone doesn't like your prices or your enhances tell them to go get someone else to do it. there are plenty of people that pays good money for enhances.

i have a list of people written next to me who either stiffed me (only one so far, actually), and people who are rude (buffing in the starport for example and they yell at me for missing their shuttle. like i tapped them on the sholder and said "excuse me sir, would you like a buff?").

in the couple weeks i've been buffing i've only been ripped off the once, so i don't mind letting people tip whenever. i figgure the people that know to ask for a buff can afford it.

"granted some docs are hitting 3000+ every time ( i hit it once in a while)"

If you hit 3000 once in a while you are normal, believe me.

If anyone tells you that they get consistant 3000+ buffs they are flat out lying.

Even with 920 buffs packs, and +25 stat clothing and a 110 droid Freshly powered, I will hit 3000 about 1 in 8-10 buffs.

Even IF (and I wouldn't believe this unless I saw it with my own eyes), someone had buff packs of 1000 enhance for every single stat (hell even with ONE buff pack), there is no way they will hit 3000 buffs everytime and probably wouldn't get a 3000 buff even half the time.

Don't let braggarts that are full of air and a farm animals excrement, make you feel inferior because you aren't hitting 3000 buffs.

It is fun to see all the Beta medical predictions come true.

Eventually,we predicted, all the abuse that other players would heap on medical professionals would drive them to be a lot more guarded as to whom they heal, and why.

As time went on.. free healing for XP, has dropped to a reasonable amount. Medical types are trying to get value for their time and effort. Players are starting to learn that they ahve to treat us like people, not NPCs.

It still will be a long road to respect for "support professions," but we are getting there.

I dont know i stopped saying " i buff you pay me what there worth" after 2 times getting tipped 0. One guy said they were the worst buffs ever ( all 1200 or higher) - 2nd guy tipped me 1500 credits for all 2200+buffs ( one was 2900)

granted some docs are hitting 3000+ every time ( i hit it once in a while)

but its over- ive been taken advtanges of - 6k upfront now except to those ive buffed before

one lady tipped me 15k after the one guy ran off without paying- and i kept retipping her back saying it wasnt her fault- but she said it was ok

its so sad- guys in composite and ubese saying ohh i dont have that much- i said it was 6k they said ok hit me and then i get ohh i only got 3k

i do charity cases free- newbies and the like free- albiet with my self made kits but still beats a 0mod right?

anyway just venting

how many times has this happened to you

ive had master doc for a little over a day now ( albiet ALLS ive done is buffing- and a LOT of it ) and i cant believe how people can forget how this stuff isnt free

I've always asked for payment up front, with the exception of those I won't let pay me [friends and guildmates]. If the buffs came out crappy, I would tip some back. I refused to deal with people who chose to jerk my chain or think that as a Master Doc Iwas obligated to bend over for them. It's gotten better lately, at least around Coronet on Shadowfire and apprently elsewhere... as stated, people are starting to recognize support characters for their importance in the grand scheme.

good post. I used to play UO so do not trust anyone. Pay as you go, or pay up front.

I am charging 12k per set of buffs now. Used to do 2 cr per point lowered to nearest 1000, but that confused too many of the woookies). Don't like it? Go to Corellia and get a 5k buff set. No skin off my nose - but no need to be rude to me.

Wanna be rude to your Doctor? /ignore

With how much a pain it is to gather some of the materials to make good buffs for the most part I just say no to buffing. Just my guildmates get buffs and those i do for free, usually when we are all hunting together. Very rarely do I buff players outside my guild for money. If I ever do, its 10k upfront or no buffs, there asking for the buffs really and there not something I offer openly. Tell them to go out and gather 1k avian meat, then you will buff them, see what there response is then hehe.

I thought it was the best thing to buff people on coronet by the starport or cantina. Man the lines that flocked!

Eventually it has gotten way out of control. I'm a person that hates to say no. I was stuck there for a while doing buff after buff and missed my shuttle a few times. But good thing I have never been ripped off. They usually ask and I give them the price. Only a few have said nevermind.

If people do rip you off, just dont buff them. /addignore works wonders or keep a list next to you. You figure they can only rip off enough people to be blacklisted, then their character wont be able to find a buff for the lift of them.

I mean doing one mission on dath or some other planet is enough to recover that 2-3 hour buff that makes things much easier. But it's nice to have guild folks come to you via word of mouth.

I've stopped buffing due to my pursue of TKA. I'm just never around town much and make much better money via missions. But I do get tells sometimes from old customers.
