Thread: Buffing without asking...
Hi,
I know nothing about the medical side of the Galaxy, but right now, buffs, be it medical, spices or food, are causing huge probelms when you die/clone while under their effects.
I have refrained from using food and spices until I hear that this is fixed, but while in med centre getting wounds healed, I have been buffed WITHOUT my asking for it. I understand that people trying to level from whatever up to whatever need to get xp, but for heaven's sake ASK FIRST. As someone who gets in a lot of fights and usually comes out the bad end this becomes a pain as you need to completely /quit (logging does not work, at least for me) to enable the stats values to correct themselves again. The main effect of these stats being radically lowered is usually that I can't equip my armour suits, but I have had one where I could not heal, due to a stamina (I think)wound.
This bug will be fixed soon but for now, at least have the courtesy to ask before you buff...
Even without this bug, Docs should never buff without asking (or anything else without implied consent). At best you're providing a free service, but at worst you're putting a ball and chain around the person's neck as they have to stick with whatever quality buff you've given rather a higher quality buff they were intending to pay someone to apply.
If you want to power level, buy a pet and enhance/store him ad infinitum.
I agree you shouldn't buff without permission, but I don't think your pet trick works. I know you don't get experience for healing pets any more, so I doubt you would get experience for buffing them either
While i agree that buffing without request/permission is in bad form, i wanted to comment that i haven't seen any problems with medical enhances "sticking" after cloning, as of the hotfix a couple of days ago.
On the other hand, *am* still having issues with food buffs sticking my willpower and focus at 150 for some odd reason. I wish this would be fixed, i drink a lot of Caf and like to keep my focus high. With this bug on food buffs, It's imparing my performance a lot.

Yours was irritating. I had a whopping 17 point health buff (so far an unmatched record I think) dumped on be at the Bestine Starport. I was on my way to Lok where I was going to buff myself for my usual 1000-1500. To anybody even thinking they're doing a favor by doing unsolicited buffs.
DON'T!
I'm a master doctor with a massive stockpile of probably the best buffs on my server, and a 110 rated droid. I ALWAYS buff fellow imperials without asking, especially if rebels have been attacking. I've never had a complaint ... usually get hugs of thanks.
However I have also been ninja-buffed by a novice doctor when I was wearing my "novice artisan" tag. He buffed me for like 150 points and I was stuck like that until it wore off. So I'd suggest that unless you're making the most uber buff packs around AND you have good reason to buff (faction defense), always ask first.

I love being super buffed by Imp docs. Don't stop doing this.
Hmm, this actually presents an interesting idea in PvP. Why not create the worst enhanced packs possible and buff all the enemy with those buffs so that they cant get better buffs? Exploit? Maybe. Annoying? Absolutely.

Duration and power is on the same experimentation "line". But I guess you could find some resources with really low OQ/PE, but with high DR.
But still. You can't buff the opposing faction if either is TEFed or Overt. So it would be a pre-emptive attack ![]()
