Thread: Resuscitate/No insurence/corpses (soon to be back)

Soon corpces will be back. The devs are kicking around an idea that each death will damage everyitem in your inventory that is not insured.

While this sounds fair I want the doc community to request the devs to exempt Resuscitate from the rules. In other words if we Resuscitate a player no damage to his/her items. This will only enhance our careers and posibly get more request to go out in to the field.

Bump if you agree

No only items worn should be damaged.

If they really implement that everything in inventory takes damage then how many of you will run around with your resources ?

How are they planning on handle damage to items that normally do not decay ?

I can accept that my jacket takes damage but I cannot accept my items in my travel bags takes damage.

to bad no dev ever will read this forum...

but yes, thats an idea I like. cloning should be the means by which damage is assesed on items, not death. revived players shouldnt suffer item damage

As someone that carries crates of 1,000c items in my backpack, this $ucks. Am I expected to buy that 500c per item insurance for all 500 or so items in my backpack? Since I fill vendors with meds, will I be expected to get new insurance for the 20-40 items I turn over in my pack everyday? Are my 100k of materials also going to start decaying? The quality going to drop? PE going to drop? Sounds like another nerf to the artesian classes to me. It's not like the warrior classes turn their guns over every day. Sounds like another idea that just gets me closer to stop playing this game, as it's going to do nothing except pi$$ me off if it happens. And I don't play games to get mad.

It is kinda nerf for Artisans since they are complaining about players only needing to buy one item for a while and then the only other time is if they need to upgrade.

I have to agree that rez should negate the damage taken to objects since it would make docs even more valuable in a group.

As for objects that get damaged, I think it would only effect items that have decay, such as clothes and weapons. Its really an attempt to create another money sink since too many players have far too much money.

This will HURT crafters instead of helping. Read my post on the thread to see my reasoning.

If they're going to implement insurance they need to reduce the costs of it then..since I'm a doctor I have to carry around resources most of the time in the field for emergencies (usually when I run outof crated parts while on a hunt) Insuring all of the items in my bag would cost a ton. I don't have several millions of credits lying around so it would just be another sinking money hole to me, and it's worse enough I have to travel to distant planets just to get the items to make a living. Speaking of which, they need to keep the corpse thing out of the game where it belongs, they force us to go to dangerous worlds already and it would be too frustrating trying to harvest from my machines when I'm spending more time looking for my body. I don't always have the luxery of people escorting me either, and i'm not gonna stand somewhere for hours shouting at random people to join my team just to harvest resources... Oh sure it'll have docs being in higher demand in groups as people wouldn't want to corpse trek/insure but while casually trekking just to maintain and harvest resources this will only hurt doctors/cms/artisans who die several times getting to their goods.

You didn't read holos message right

**************************************************************

When you get incapped, everything you have in inventory or equipped takes a bit of damage (yes, everything--even stuff that currently does not suffer damage or decay).

  • You can insure stuff so that it does not take any damage on incap. This cost is much cheaper than current insurance.

**********************************************************************

He said when you get INCAPPED, not dead. So just falling over will cause all your stuff to get damaged. You don't even have to die. Just a friendly duel will get you all damaged.

If this is the case, revive will have nothing to do with this system. Revive only saves somebody a walk back.

well the title of this message says resus and corpses so we are talkin a bout death.. lol

I hate this idea.. i would rather stuff just decay over time (except resources - they are hard enough to get as it is and it nerf's no one to havet hem not decay) I think ONLY player made items should decay and it should be over time.. like when your shot.. (armor...) or when your shoot (guns).

None of this decay on death/incap crap. Keep it simple.

What did your post say? I skimmed the first 10 pages but didn't see anything.

From my perspective, I'd say it's bad as well. I know a ton of crafters, and all of them have more then enough business to keep them busy as much as they are willing to take, with the exception of the droid engineer, but that's the underlying problem with droids, not crafting or decay. The tailors are constantly being asked for something, the weaponsmiths are constantly being asked for something, the architects are constantly being asked for something, etc.... I don't know a high end armorsmith, but I would think it would be similar, but not quite as bad for them. I really don't think any reputable crafter who takes any effort to get business really isn't getting it.

Just to add this.. most of the time when I die or get incapped in game it is because I am killed by several agros that 1) spawned on my head while running to my harvesters or 2) attacked by said spawning agros before they even load onto my screen - resulting in my slaying/incapping. Insurance as is seems to cost alot, even though at the start of the game I was told by some NPC (a droid I think) that it was a "nominal cost". Ya, nominal my @ss.

Oh ya.. almost forgot.. while this happens and agros are spawning aroundmy charecter she is autoattacking/counter attacking rather than running like she is supposed to- whichseems to justhasten herdeath and/or incapping. Personally I would like to see some of the many ingameissues deat with rahter than seemy items decay becauseI lag or I can't tunr off autoattack.

Anyhow just my opinion but like I said.. many more things to fix then bring in "something new" that may simply cause more problems for players.
