No need to sign, really. We already have a completed petition with a very clear majority vote that placed this as THE #1 issue for Docs. It was the Top 5 list I sent on to the Devs not too long ago. Just because we got a response suggesting that they feel such a thing may be too competetive with Artisans has not at all stopped me from trying to push the issue. The problem is that I have not been able to engage our Dev into any kind of debate on the matter yet. He's simply being non-responsive on the issues right now. (No, I don't know why, although the CMs are getting a tad bit of attention from him right now that they are desperately in need of, at least, and he does have several other professions and game systems that he works on.)

So, suffice to say that at least from teh Correspondent point of view, this issue has been heard very loudly and very clearly and it has been presented to the Devs as our Top Prioritey, A #1 issue to be addressed. We've just not gotten much of a response on this one yet, but they have definitely seen it. /sigh

So, we're covered on this one. A petition just won't do you any good. No banding my head against a wall isn't doing much good right now either, though. This is just so frustrating... I think I'm going to just have to start pushing this one daily to see if I can get any response on it.

Even as much as having no survey skills is annoying and time-consuming, I tend to agree. personally, I think the miner class should have been left in game and the surveying removed from artisans and architects.

I'm strongly opposed to this and here's why

The game is at it's best with interdependencies between characters. It's not Morrowwind or some single player game where you expect your character to cope with everything alone

Sure we can kick the artisans out of the loop by lobbying for self-sufficiency. And get mind healing too so we dont need Entertainers. And then all end up playing TKA/Doctors who never come back to town or meet another player

Dull dull dull

This idea is basically a lazy one - if you want to spend your skill points elsewhere than artisan then at leasttake the trouble to ask around for people who like finding and mining, there's lots of them and pay them, heal them and buff them for their service

Please don't lets make what is currently a good interactive experience degrade into a horde of soloists all fighting for bragging space - interaction and interdependence is the outstanding element of this game

As much as I resent putting 15 points into Artisan, I have to decline from signing as well.

If Bounty Hunters ever get built-in medic abilities though, (which I hope never happens) I'll be all for it.

Guys, we've beaten this one to death, Likely you aren't going to see a vunch of the arguments for this heare because the 80-some percent that voted FOR making this a #1 Issue have heard and said it all before.

But, just to reiterate one thing... WE ALREADY HAVE THIS SKILL!!!! It just does not work!

The balance design should include some level of capability in this arena. ANd, frankly, I don;t take to kindly to being called "lazy". We may disagree on the issue, but that's not reason to start pulling out the names.

Now, if you care to provide a bot more meat on exactly how a gimped version of /medicalsurvey would really be too competetive with artisans, that I would love to hear. However, make sure you understand what is being asked for first. We are NOT asking for /survey and /sample. So please do NOT make arguments based on those assumptions.

I do not believe in reading a thread unless i can adequatly read every post. I have read some, but followed very few links. Perhaps you, and other corrospondents, should petition for Polls inside your specif boards. But being called out as such, chances are my posts will decline or stop. thanks.

Nope and I sure havent found a needto spend 15 points in survey to survey well enough to place harvesters - think mines at about 6 into survey.

Didn't see the other petition, so I'll sign this one. Or just add 1 to the total from the other petition.

Doctors NEED to be able to survey.

Aye, i think the dev's had good intentions to do this with the /medicalforage command... -just too bad it's useless.

Some valid points in this reply. Maybe just simply allow a non-improving survey skill at novice medic level instead-- to satisfythebounty hunter/commando medic dabblers as well.

PS: Sorry Zarlor, my first time postinghere in the Doc forums...i should have checked all your posts first

Sistere: If you will notice-- Novice Artisan ALONE is 15 skill points.
