I charge 100k per buff when I'm the only doc buffing at the Mining Outpost late at night. People pay it with little complaint, so I'm trying to decide to charge 150k or not....I think thats perfectly fair...

"Even Talus herb we are charged 80cpu and we all know a novice scout can harvest 10k in less than an hour"

Actually, I'd like to know how that can be done on an empty planet, where the largest herb meat critter, if one can be found, gives off something like 30 units.

Scratch Herb -- meant Avian

Endor herb is going for 85cpu -- Old Talus Avian is 200-300 cpu

Ima doctor on eclipse and ive never charged over 11k.. usually 10k but 11k when i was doing 2605 buffs and they all gave me a dirty look and walked away.

Dont really know how you people manage to get over 15k but im just managing to make a profit.

There was one master doctor trying to kill my business by buffing everyone in my line for free.. they all still paid me so he just saved me the buff packs and time, he said "i hate people charging lower then 15k so im killing the proffession".

A while after that he said "lets both charge 20k" i refused and just logged of i think he was just having a bit of a laugh.

Anyway what should i charge fora 2598 buff, im seriously doubting what to charge on eclipse.

Any advice?

i hit for 2600 now and i pay 300k for a set for 6 at 26 hits each that would mean i have to charge more than 11.5k

to break eaven not counting the bivoli. i dont buff the public these are just for me and my guild mates. but if i did

buff the public i would have to charge 15-20k 0n those.

My personal experience:

I have 2 accounts. One is a fighter BH/Carbineer and the other one is Doc/Merchant.

The doc buy a set of buffpacks for 120k (average Corbantis price for 2250, no bivoli used) with 30 uses. Start buffing for 10k at coronet. 2 minutes per customer and he spent the whole set in one hour. So, he made 300k in an hour. Easy money! 300k - 120k = 180k profit in an hour.

The fighter get a buff, go for a solo group and hunt Jantas or Mokks for 33k each mission. 2 missions each 12 minutes = 10 missions. 10 x 33k = 330k profit in an hour (plus loot).

Can't you see why I do not public buff? You can raise the buff price up to 15k and I'd still hunt instead of public buff.

I know I'm not taking care of expenses like droid batteries (ludicrous), decay (minimal) and shuttle tickets (more than affordable)...

Hope it helps.

hmm yea i have 2 accounts too one is TKM/swordsman/pistoleer 0040 and a doc/rifleman well almost rifleman, i buy bufs for 18k a piece so thats about 108k for a set with 30 uses.. thats 200k an hour if i dont use bivoli/havla.. although havla can really make it allot faster just buffing the next 5 people in 1 minute but oh well ill just keep public buffing because it needs to be done and a "new gaming experience" since ive been almost everything else except image designer and chef and entertainer trees

Ok, I think I remember reading through all that mess in here that someone said buffing is a privledge. Also that doctors should charge what they feel their time is worth. I'm going to have to agree 100% on that.

Now, when I look at it and after reading the previous posts I'll say this much, guys stop giving docs a hard time about the price of their buffs because ya know what? They don't have to be sitting there buffing you just so you can handle whatever it is you wouldn't be able to handle unbuffed or just so you can wear your armor. It's their choice to buff and charge whatever they feel like. And personally, 10k for a buff is dirt cheap in my eyes. If you factor in all the possibilitys opened up to you after getting buffed, I would pay anywhere up to 30k, maybe even 50 if I couldn't buff myself.

Me being the doctor and you being in need, you are entitled to free heals/cures/rez. But buffs are enhancements, nothing more then extra. I do make exceptions to some i.e. newbs & friends for freebie buffs. But if you come up to me, especially on my own time, then you better expect to pay for a buff. It all boils down to these choices: pay the price, find someone else, or go unbuffed.

not everyone who gets buffed goes and runs Janta missions every 5 minutes. It takes me 5 minutes at least to do a quenker lair. Don't set your prices on what you assume your customers could be making if they were running a certain type of mission in the time you think they should be able to do it in.

secondly, non-docs shouldn't complain about the price of buffs. If they don't like the price, pick up doctor and spend their whole time trying to get resources or find someone else to buff. You don't need buffs to play. Don't complain.

/sigh

OK.... firstly....

I don't have a clue what class your toon is, I have to assume you're a combat class and not a Doc, as you're hunting quenkers. So, please, take your own advice and "Don't complain". And don't tell a Doc how tochoose his prices. Plain and simple, prices are dictated by the marketplace, which differs somewhat between servers and the availablitity of resources such as Avian meat. That people are paying 15k plus for buffs without batting an eyelash should tell you that veteran players consider that a bargain.

Secondly, there are a LOT of Docs with varying quality and prices for buffs. If you play regularly, you'll find several docs in Coronet at the same time, some offering lower priced, lower quality buffs. Avail yourself of their services instead of bickering with a Doc over his prices.

You make a valid point that not all players looking for buffs are hunting Jantas, but the majority do in fact want buffs in order to do missions or go places they KNOW they'll likely die without them. Contrary to your belief, it is very difficult to play this game and make any money or advance your skills in a timely or rewarding fashion without buffs. I've played a new character and couldn't afford buffs when I started until I did enough nickle and dime missions to afford 10k to blast through a pile of good paying missions. That took literally just a few hours.

u guys are gettin out of hand with the 50k bufs though

dont get greedy please, you already make enough as is, no need to rob people

make hundreds of thousands in an hour as it was with 10k buffs

with 50k buffs.....it aint right

thats insane

thx and please dont flame, merely expressing an opinion not trolling

A lot of whiners on board today, I think we need to space the lot of you. If you've never played a doc you have no right to tell us what to charge or how to run our bussiness. If you have played a Doc like wise one Ocain here, then run your bussiness as you see fit. Resources cost a lot of creds, plus the time we have to spend finding said resources, plus the time we spend crafting buff packs, plus the credits we spend running our various harvesters and factories. Not to mention we could be out doing something more fun AND more profitable, like missions. Line skipping and charging extra is like real life, if you donlt like it, move to Canada and get free and crappy healthcare. If you have the credits to spend, then you better believe you'll get "Premium service".

My guild comes first, even if I have a huge line if you see a character with a <Q> after there name, they're the next buff period and for free too.

As for what I charge it all depends on where I'm at. If I'm in Coronet I try to match my prices with the other docs in the area, usually I ask rebels to tip what they can afford and I tell Imperials a flat rate of 20k credits, plus Imperials have to endure mandatory proctological exams, sorry, it's company policy.
