Doctors can choose to be combat players, they can choose to run medical supply companies, they can even do both but they can't be the best at all three. It is a matter of deciding how you want to split up your skills. I have the same argument for crafters who want to master three Elite Crafting professions and have 6 vendors and all the advertising. AND have combat.
While we're on the subject I fully support the Medics, Doctors, and Entertainers and Smugglers getting access to something like the Image Designer interface that allows them to do secure transactions for their services. I play a doctor character as well and it annoys me to have people ask for healing and then just expect to run off with just a "thank you"

I think you can see by my post I am not sure that a med vendor is the right thing to do. And that the merchant fix is needed.
Part of what I have been doing is pointing out that this does bring to the forefront the continuing disparities between what doctors can do and other crafters as a whole. And its not just this merchant fix either.
I have an alt that is a Master Artisan/Master Merchant but Doctors should not have to be forced to create alts to get what they need done when all other crafters can, now whether the dispairities can be fixed through skills or game mechanics is a different story all together.
Theroot issue with doctors is not becauseof this fix. In fact I am sure that you have seen my posts in the Merchant forum (since I also have a Master Merchant) applauding this fix.
Admin rights would work in a pinch, but I don't think that's an especially elegant solution.
This really should come with a consignment interface that allows the doctor to set his or her own prices, as well as agree upon a payment breakdown with the merchant...
As it stands, our options are roughly threefold: (and I know this from experience, I actually pay a merchant for his services...)
1. Sell items to the vendor, have them marked up and re-listed. Two issues with this one... First, its impossible to carry enough stock -- to give you an idea, my vendor now carries between 20 and 30 million credits woth of inventory. That's a lot of overhead for anyone... Second, city taxes are applied twice -- once when you sell the item to the vendor, again when it is relisted for public sale.
We're not crafters is why. A WS will be able to have an elite profession and some merchant, but they can't buff and heal as well as we do... Again, it's a choice.

I answered that already Songe. Yes we are crafters, we make things. The sole difference is that we can craft to sell items and sell services. Just as a Weaponsmith creates items to sell and services such as weapon repairs. Some of the things we craft are used by us as services. Well we can't make weapons either.
And if you read my posts its not all about merchant.

And where do you get your Wound Heal Packs,Rez Kits,Buff packs,Stims,Fire & Dizzy Cure things? OH! a vendor? Or do you CRAFT them?
I always heard that if you put a dead body underneath your pillow the Rez Kit fairy would take the dead body and leave you a rez kit. Maybe thats how it happens since we are not crafters.

You are absolutely correct. I was one of em for the longest time. I didn't want to gather resources and sit around and play with experimentation and factories when I could be out killing stuff. Its interesting to get into but not required at all.

Yeah you are correct buff packs , rez kits come from weaponsmiths and we are noot crafters.
Yes there are doctor dabblers that dont craft, there are medic dabblers that dont craft.
We may be a hybrid profession maining a lot of what we craft is sold as services we do oursevlves. That does not make us "not crafters".
