The jury's still out. Nobody has said anything other than SP requirements will change for some professions.

...Currently, when you hit master doc, what do you get?

wound treatment and speed +25

med use +10

and 11 schematics, which are all going to be gone...
Who knows what the extra tree in doc will be, or what benefits master doctor will have? You can't really base what the CU will bring on what we have now, as much of it is likely to change.

the dev's need to give us a reason to master
I'm sure that's been taken into consideration, and we'll learn more as more docs are released.

Unfortunately, they are requiring us to do the one thing that SWG players aren't known to handle well.

In fairness I doubt anyone has much patience left after being handed bad news, this is the point I keep making: "give us the rough with the smooth". As far as I can see we have had ample time to see buffs get taken back in, and I hardly see a complaint here about that. Crafting however is another issue, as it's out of the blue, apparently uncalled for, and a complete removal of a whole branch of our skill tree without any compensation.

I'm inpressed that anyone has the patience to wait and look for the light at the end of the tunnel after that.

The changes were made to make Doc appealing to traditional MMOG healers, not to the crafter/merchant hybrids most remaining docs seem to be.

I hope that once and for all this will silence ANYONE who says that docs aren't being made to look like EQ, WOW, and other MMOG's...

If it truly does get more like WoW or EQ, I'm done with it. I chose SWG primarily for that reason. Aside from the fact I like Star Wars.

I suspect that I'm done with it as well. I play Wow and love it -- I don't need two WoW's, and from what I've seen of all the other changes they've been making to SWG, it won't be anywhere near as interesting as WoW. Take WoW/EQ and blend it with an intergalactic game of Capture the Flag -- that's what SWG is looking like to me at the moment.

"intergalactic game of capture the flag"

you know, i've never thought of it that way, but yeah, that's kind of how it is. however, that's GCW stuff, we don't wanna throw that in here as well

Something im wondering that might have been overlooked.... The curb is now to be released with the new expansion. Just a guess here but the new cybernetics will VERY likely req a doc. Dunno about you but this sounds like yet ANOTHER reason to stick with doc. I mean who wouldnt want a cool cybernetic limb? Eye?

That was exactly what i thought when i read that the whole Crafting Tree will be removed from Doc.

There must be a reason for this - my guess was that they needed the skilltree for a new feature, and thinking of the cybernatic stuff they posted pictures some time ago this was my first guess too

that would be a nice replacement for the buff business - even thou i hope it will look somewhat more like Luke's Cyberhand instead of the wooden pirate leg look of the stuff they posted

The Doctor community in general tends to frown on players who pick up and master the profession solely to make money. It's nothing against the players who want to make money, it's the fact that the community generally is one that enjoys the support role and helping others. The idea of being a doctor for personal gain only goes against that. At least that's my interpretation.

As a former Doctor who made a couple of million buffing prior to the buff revamp, I have to say that this is why a good deal of people become Doctors in real life, too. The make money part, not the helping others part. Seems to be on par with reality, then.
