Thread: charging for buffs
I can't buff yet, but if you can charge 10k, then why charge less? Why undercut everyone else, and make everyone's income go down?
I notice the same thing with Stim B's. I sell a handful at a time on the bazaar to keep me out of the poor house. They are usually 250-300 @ 26 charges. These sell nicely at 1200-1300, and I am still slowly creeping up the price. I hate it when I go to sell, and I see someone placed 400 @ 30 for 1k. 1k! Well, looks like I'll make money off my carbine AGAIN.
Think of the time you spent gathering or buying resources. Think about how badly combat types need your products... and think of the dirt poor novice docs trying to make some money. ![]()
Got kinda scary though when I had 12 people siting there staring at me waiting thier turn but it was a very fun and profitable day. *grumbles* now if I had just not lost the auction I sat on my rear for 14 hours raising the credits for.
We on Bria got **edit** lucky with our avian meat. 973 pe, 986 oq or something like that not to long ago. I hoarded. Then there was 870 930 right before that. The best stuff now if 830 770 or something like that on Lok.
At any rate, 5k for friends, 7-8k otherwise, 10k on advanced planets. This is with 680 or so base buffs. I might go up to 10k for non friends when I use >800 or so base buffs. Rebels also pay double whatever I'm charging ie: 20k on Dathomir, especially in raids.
I buff a lot of people. Anyone in my guild that asks, gets free buffs and I always buff any groups i'm out hunting with.
I can tell you that the variance of buffs is one of my pets peeves. Using the exact same buff pack I can buff one guy for 950 and the next for 3300.
Sometimes I might buff all 6 stats and have maybe one buff be 1500 and the rest be 2200-2900. They then think I'm an uber buffer. A little later using the same packs on a different person I might get a 900, 4 1500-1600 and one over 2000 and they would consider me a not so great buffer. Same buff packs, same doctor VERY different results.
I mention this because if you happen to get 1000-1500 buffs from some doctor, don't write them off. Try them another time at least once. They MIGHT just have had very bad rolls on their buffs that one time with you.
I 'm going to stop buffing people soon as most Master Doc don't sell enchancement pak and making them are too tedious. I have enough paksfor me and friends.
The +25 clothes make a huge difference. You can look up the formula in mglonecs (sp?) FAQ and see by how much.
I have started charging 8k (or 1.5k per) on the Inner Planets (Naboo, Tattoine, Correlia) and 10k (or 2k per) everywhere else. I hit on buffs between 1100-3300. If you buff this high you should get paid more than doctors who never buff for 3000.
