so I'm loitering around my favorite shops when an obviously helpless master chef asks me if I would mind clearing some agro away from her factories. Now I don't care that I have my master rifle tag up or that I am holding my power hammer, and how dare she make such and inquiry? I mean do people know no shame? I promptly spit on her and did "/emote kicks helpless chef lady for being presumptive" over and over untill I think she began to cry in real life.
er...no I didn't. I said "sure!" and I went over there and used strafe 2 on em and watched them die and her thank me and we had a nice chuckle about how weak our crafting characters are as I have one too. I got a waypoint to her shop and made a friend.
mabe you could do the same?

Alright, next time I see a random guy with a Rifleman tag up, I'll note his name and wait til the next day. Then, when he's no where near me and possibly on a different planet entirely, I'll ask him if he can come help me with some aggro around my factories... and if he doesn't, I'll go to the Rifleman forums and b*tch about his not helping me. Or I'll find a Master Doctor that has a "Master Swordsman" badge and ask him if he can help me with my mission.

Quit trolling our forums, you obviously don't know what it is to be a Doctor.

admittedly what I know about being a doctor is the crafting side. what I know about being nice applies to any profession. no need to bust on someone that inquires of your services. show some compassion man.

Granted, I'm one of the nicest Doctors on Shadowfire, easily... I always heal w/o ever expecting a tip, if someone asks nicely *while I'm near them*, then sure, I'll buff them. But this is hardly ever the case. What you said in your first post makes reference to Doctors getting tells out of the blue while nowhere near, whether or not you meant it that way, because that is the case 98% of the time. To imply that we are "rude" because we get angry with constantly getting tells asking us to drop what we are doing to buff someone is asanine. You admitted to not knowing tho, so I can understand where you might be coming from, but just know now that when we refer to getting tells out of the blue, it is mostly refering to the tells we get while hunting in the wilderness, or maybe crafting at home.

buffs by the way are the main reason why combat in this game is whack.... buffs should be one tenth as effective as they are and mobs should go back to how they were a year ago.... buffs should be for 250 points not 2500.... the ham cost system worked fine.... you could wear 80 percent resist composite armor but the cost was so high that spamming specials would incap you....

Yeah because people are going to pay 10k for a buff when food would give you better stats

Most of the time i try to be very polite to the ''people'' who ask if i am buffing and so on.

But then there is timeswhen i get complete nuts over people just because its so stupid.

Example:

Iwas buffing at starporta couple weeks agoand i had almost a 20 people queue.

My shouting macro that im buffing with stats and prices is set to run on a 25 sec basis.

And then a guy comes up to me stands in front of me andsends a tell to me saying:hey doc are ya buffing?

Even right there i wonder why people cant just wait til a shout comes up as in my oppinion they should understand if im buffing i will shout it and if im not i will shout that.

I was having a fairly good day then so i reply:Yes i am but if u please could wait til my shouting comes up as its hectic enough for me buffing and stuff at the same time.

Then he replys back to me again/:yea yea what ever and then he tips me the 15k i asked for he then tells me:Buff me now im in a hurry.

I reply in a very calm maners:could you please hold on there is 20 people in front of u in the queue.

He says ok.

And after 30 secs he askes me again:when can u buff me?

Now im starting to get a little irritated so i tell him:if u evenread the reply i sent u before it sayed please wait for your turn there is 20 people in fornt of you in queue.

He then tells me in capital letters:I PAYED YOU THE MONEY YOU SHOULD BUFF ME NOW!!!!!!!.

Now im getting really pissed and tells him: Please shut up and wait for your turn or il just wont ever buff you IS THAT CLEAR!?!?!?

He then tells me (this is the most strange part lol):Hey you --->Selfish<--- Doctor buff me now or i will start screaming that you are stealing everyones money.

I then reply to him :IF U CALL ME SELFISH U LITTLE BRAT U SHOULD SERIOUSLY TAKE SOME ENGLISH CLASSES AND GET THE MEANING OF THAT WORD!!!!

And so it went on and on when it then gets his turn he wonders why i dont buff him i then tell him :Huh i didnt tell u? he then says :no why? i tell him because you were rude /addignore and walk away.

things like this happens to me all the time

There is a logic reason for everything but logic

I’ve discovered that if me title is set to “no title” at logout it will revert back to the last title, other than “no title,” used. Sometimes I set it to “Rifleman” before logging out but then I start getting those annoying “are you hunting” tells as soon as I log in.

yep. If you log with 'no title' it defaults to the last title you had. One thing to be aware of is /quit vs /logout. If you change your title to say, novice medic, but use /quit (or shift+esc) then it acts just like it was set to no title by defaulting to whatever your last title was when you used /logout.

I used to get heaps of tells when i use to have my master doc tag up, once to changed it to another prof, they all kinda stopped, If im buffing a guildy or mate in public, if someone asks nicely I usually buff them for 15k almost all the time they don't complain about the price. I must be one of the lucky ones who doesn't get the annoying customers.
