We don't have the option to refridgerate our cheese.

Great book... "Who Moved My Cheese..."

Very basic and a quick read but it's exactally what is happening here.

CU comes:

Healing doc: "This looks to be the greatest thing ever! I'm SO looking forward to healing being important again!"

Crafting doc: "Holy COW! We're having to move to BE? My resources won't be nearly as valuable as I once paid for them, plus I'm being told I'm not a doctor anymore! I'm not sure I like this!"

Healing doc: "Cry me a river! Anyone who doesn't heal was just in it for the money! Cry to someone who gives a rip! Being a doctor is about healing, not buffing, crafting or making money. You guys are pathetic!"

Yeah I can see how we crafting docs, (oh excuse me, we're not allowed to play in any doctor reindeer games anymore, I mean we medical BE's), should just be open to change and embrace this move and make the most out of it. After all as the old saying goes, "if r a p e is inevitable, one may as well enjoy it right?"

It's not just crafting or buffing docs who are against the CU. I am a healer. My entire template was designed around healing a group in combat. The CU effectively destroys nearly everything I find fun in the game. Yes, I like that docs will be more needed in combat again. The problem (for me) is that the magic healing makes me more cleric than doctor. If SWG had been at day one, what it will be when the CU goes live, I would not have played beyond the free month that came with the game.I've been through 4 of the 5 steps in Marrow's list (though there is plenty of anger left in me). After the end of the month, I will settle into accepting the change. it's just that the change I will accept is a life without SWG.

Sure, but if the only different about your template is the fact you don't have a doctor bag in your inventory, and all other stuff stays the same, it's a slightly less impact in my eyes, (but that's not in any way meant to lessen the impact in your eyes)...

That's not the only difference. Healing without meds means that all doctors are the same. It's the quality of the meds that differentiate doctors. Without the meds, a doc is a doc is a doc. That is a completely different type of healing gameplay then what we have now. I like the current healing gameplay (just wish we were needed more), and have no interest in the "traditional" style healer that the CU is instituting.

Besides I like this version better:

...And these children (in our case any doc whose not a "healer") that you spit on

as they try to change their worlds

are quite immune to your consultations

they're quite aware of what they're going through...

I just would like to thank you very much Agent for keeping your site up as long as you did.

When I was first directed to your site I spent so much time reading and learning, it helped me grow into the role of a doctor.

I am really disappointed about the changes coming in CU. I really enjoyed making meds and keeping packs it made me feel like a doc healing someone with meds. I have played doctor with so many differnt combos, never changing my primary profession as Doc until recently with a final unlock. Even then I made a alt accoutn a master doc first.

The most fun I had in this game was as a Doc, I didnt need a Combat Upgrdae to be a primary healer and helper in combat groups. I dont think this profesion does.

But my opinion is a rain drop in the ocean.

Take care and be safe, its a game and I hope you have fun with your new professions.
