darksfallen .... i don't understand what is so hard to difficult to understand

doc is losing crafting... it's going to BE. it's not that hard... it says it right there (so is CM for that matter). if you don't think it makes sense you need to look at the skill point trees until you do, because that's what is going to happen. i tried to explain it as best i could, but apparently you just don't get it.

MASTER DOCTORS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CRAFT, you will need BE (to some degree)

Not to mention they can craft everything that is in Medic... So that's not correct. To assume class defining meds will be moved to BE is not a safe assumption at this point.

Way too many people continue to assume that doctor will have master medic as a pre-req. It may not.

And no you won't need BE to craft... The post says it will be handled in Medic, as well as BE, I read that as primarily Medic and some in BE.

But even if some of the schematics are in medic (which they undoubtedly will be), you still have the issue of experiemntation points. Based on the way medic/doctor is set up now, I would personally assume that a medic will have only 5 experimentation points, with the other 5 coming from BE. Yes, it's possible they will put 10 medical experimentation points in medic and then use BE experimentation points for the BE medical schematics, but I wouldn't bet on this approach. I suspect that medic-only crafters will be as gimped as medical crafters as they are today.

As someone who does know more than just what's already been released, it's my opinion that there is very little that can be done to prepare, and least in crafting terms. To say that rez kits or stims or anything else will stay the same, or even still be around is an assumption. Once more details are released, it will be easier to decide how to prepare. Right now, there just isn't enough information.

I agree 100% there is not enough information to be suggesting to anyone a course of action.

this has gotto be the best one yet........... it was a suggestion, if i knew that hundreds or thousands of people were hanging on my every word waiting for my decision then, well, i probably wouldn't be playing swg. it's a suggestion, and trust me, if it doesn't work out, i won't lose any sleep at night.

I know it was a suggestion I never made it out to be more. A suggestion knowing nothing about a subject based on assumtpions and what... umm nothing?

So you are suggesting for people to do this and admit that if it screwed people over you wouldn't care?

no i'm saying that if it doesn't work out for me, i won't care. if people follow my idea, and it doesn't work, it was their choice to follow it, and therefore it's their mistake.as a human being, i would feel bad, but not responsible.

i am fully aware that it may backfrire on me, and it's my decision to take that risk. however, that being said, it's almost foolish of me to sit on the 1000's of components that I currently have, and not use them before I am unable to. This will not put much hurt on my actual resources, as I have millions of generic organics and inorganics that I use in simple med products. All my other resources that I use for high end products or actual components (avian meat, good reactive, fiberplast, herb meat etc)I AM going to be sitting on and await the result.

You have millions of components, and that is awsome. I would suggest you sit on them until we have more information given that you have enough product to get through to the expansion. I have to agree with these cats here that we have no information to speculate what will become of medical crafting. Nor do we know what branches of crafting are going to be split between medic and BW, nor do we even know what the make up of those schematics will be. Rezz, Poison and Disease cures, stims, blankets, who is to say what goes where other than a DEV. Furthermore they may allow a doc sp move to BE in respec, they may not. We don't even know how our product lines are going to transfer.

What we do know is at the base level, resources probably will not change. 1 gazillion avian meat will probably still be 12 gazillion avian meat. If you leave well enough alone for a few weeks, then you will still be left with 1 gazillion avian meay units after the cu, and additionally you might have a clear clue as to what needs to be done in order to use them more effectively.

Right now this is a game of patience. Don't impale yourself with a vibrolance on scant information (my suggestion). If you do, no one here will feel sorry for you when you post the inevitable nerf forum rant.

You know that scene, the one where Marlon Brando did that little hand wave right before he died. Yeah. That was beautiful man.

I wrote this before the NGE, now I feel like Brando

haha i've already said that i won't be complaining when it happens, it's my risk to take.

i also said i have thousands of components, not millions, i have millions of generic resources to put into lower level med products, so using that isn't a huge investment like say, making 1000 sets of buffpacks and hoping it will be ok. burning through my cache of good, specific resources IS a dumb idea, but using up my components now before later, isn't. if such components exist later well I can make more, because I still have those resources, where if they say "oh now med supplies take these new components, and your own ones are useless and won't be converted" i won't have anything to worry about.

once my med products that i made with my old components are converted (which they said will happen), i should have an advantage over those who are making the same or similar products with the new system, whether I have to grind BE or get a free SP change.

Can we please just stop beating a dead horse with this post. There is nothing constructive in it, and all it's doing is getting on peoples nerves. Please just stop posting, nothing is being solved except for more debate about a subject no one has a clue about.
