You are right. Potency will go up, thereby allowing the allotment of additional experimentation to Range or Effectiveness. This will only add to the gripes.

I will agree that anything attacking mind stats is overpowered at this time. However, that is not a balance issue, it is a development issue. Also keep in mind that there is currently a "mind heal" on test center. I do not disagree that Cures should be more able to remove poison. There should be some parity between application and removal.


Solution to mind attacks is simple, but not 100% effective (as if anything is in this game). If you are going to PVP, get a pair of mind buffs, carry some Muon, and maybe eat/drink some mind affecting items.


On a similar note, consider the other bleeds that are available. They stack, they take multiple applications to remove, and they can devastate ones pools. So what? That's the way it is. We all deal with it, just some of us whine about it. These poisons are not much different. Everyone has been whining about Mind Attacks since BETA.


You ask what you could have done in the combat situation you posted earlier? Don't solo PVP. Doctors are not made to solo PVP, though it is possible. It's like Rock Paper Scissors. Even a doctor with a cdef can beat a Melee class. A combat medic can beat a doctor. A BH can beat just about any class (if using all available skills). And a Master Creature Handler can beat ANYONE if they are smart (how would you like to have a 90m ranged attack?)


What do you want? Combat Doctor? You've got it, it's called the Combat Medic.


Try this out for size. Take a doctor from your regional medical center. Give him a gun and stand him across the street from a US Army Field Medic. Who's gonna win? That's right. Not mister Hypocratic oath for sure. The one with combat experience will win 9 out of 10 times.


What happens when the Artisans call for a nerf to Docs so that THEY can beat someone in PVP? You are going to say "but artisans aren't meant to be uber-PVPers." and you'll be right.


So,I will continue to advise people to learn real tactics, and to learn their weaknesses. And just because you've dumped piles of credits into your gear does not mean your weaknesses are gone, just somewhat mitigated.


And in regards to Eyeshot, what can you do about that, aside from getting an uber composite helmet that may actually make you MORE succeptible to mind damage. For the flame DOT, your option is standing in a freakin river, and knockdowns you can PRAY that that BH over there misses on his first one so you have a whopping 30 seconds to react.


I am a doctor, and a cm. I understand the strengths and weaknesses involved. I undetstand where you are coming from. I just dont agree with all of the doctors calling for a nerf to CM (not you, as you stated).


I would also like to state that there was a post in THIS forum yesterday from some doctor claiming he could, and does, regularly hand CMs their @$$ on a plate in PVP. Maybe you could ask him how he does it.


I, personally, dont believe anything more needs to be changed than a simple boost in power to the cure poison and cure disease packs.

For that range you dont have to sacrifice pot and whatnot. Adv dispersals is how he got that range. We hit a 36m base pack with the adv dispersal. The base potency was 83, effectivness maxed at 308. No experimentation pts in pot, all in effectivness. With that base range, hitting from 74m(out of combat range), was pretty sick really, lol. I feel your pain with the cure poisons tho. Taking 3 cures to clear some poisons(1 if they suck donkey balls) just eats your mind up, and by that time its prob already ticked at least once. Of course with all that curing you dont have too much time to use your combat skills. "(.
