Thread: I Don't think CU will be as bad as we thought....

Huh? What are you talking about? I didn't make that post! Someone else made that post! You people are out to get me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Having people spending money on resource kits will not bleed the economy at all. It is just money switching hands from one player to another. If the end result will be that resource kits are getting a lot less worth the only affect to economy is that some crafters get a little less rich and some other palyer a bit more ricj.
I've clarified this enough times so will continue to take my lumps on my poor choice of words... However the point is the resource kits bleed cash from the crafting docs which, I sitll believe, was an intentional move...by THEM!

lol, I used my one and only resource deed I had for some long gone insect meat for psn/disease crafting. Until the spider venom came along and skewed the eff of poisons/diseases it helped me to make some of the best psn/diseases possible on Starsider. So I guess I have already been bit in the a$$ lol.

Heh.......I love it. Seriously love it.
We don't even have schematics available on TC yet, but everybody is crying that "avian is no good anymore" "our resources are crap" et al..........
Read my lips here.....
Unless you're psychic, or have some special connection to SOE, WE DON'T KNOW THAT YET. Why don't you pull the wedgie out, and wait and see what happens?
I'd never say it's not good anymore, as I'm certain it'll find a use. I would HOPE that it finds a use in something...useful so that it can retain it's current value, however I suspect that won't be the case...

LOL thanks. do we know for sure it's not needed? I don't know really. I know that all the subcomponents still require the same resources. We can't see the BE schematics yet... Following the trend they will be used the same, but I have no clue.
You're not hearing me. I'm SURE avian meat will be applied to something, nobody doubts that.
What I said in the post is they devs intentionally released the resource kits knowing they were going to remove avian's use from the med crafting...
After the CU they'll invent some new use for it...like a meat pie that helps you not fart at night so much when your toon is sleeping...
I know it's a stupid analogy, however the intent is the same. Avian will become worth 1/100 of it's current value.
This isn't a by product, it is intentional.
The economy of crafting docs has been bloodied, drained and mounted on the wall...
However you guys keep up the effort. The devs need more starry eyed cheerleaders patting them on the back singing their praises for reducing the role of doctor to roughly 1/3 of what it used to be and that they're great for doing it.
I hope I meet the person on my server who becomes the "high priest of DEV Blair, God of crafting docs" soon, I want to shake his hand too...
However that will only be after I'm done rezzing the 15 noobs who just got slaughtered trying to take out that next of kreetles...
Thank God we docs have a purpose again!
At the risk of repeating what I've said before in other threads, the devs seem to have hated us for a quite a while. Why else would docs have to make 7 trips to the Village for every trip by a combat type?
I agree with all your comments. Giving us a "purpose" by taking away the crafting that we live by is about as low a blow as can be struck.

I think Meats and Such will go down in price so yes you will lose money. However it isnt completely worthless....
I am actually HAPPY that DOCs will no longer be buying meat at outragious prices so people such as the BE and Chef can finally be able to get quality meats.
I am doctor who did not craft, just wasnt why I became a doc. However I am also a BE and Chef for my alt. the amount of HQ meats is limited and maybe it is different for other servers but usually the spawns that are of good quality are avians and herbivor meat.... A BE can not charge enough credits to compensate the cost that is required for the quanity of meats you need to make tissues for chefs and tailors, they just can not afford to pay it. Without the quality meats and quality organics the tissues become altogether worthless and that makes chefs foods very poorly...its like a well balanced ecosystem that has gone amok people charging tons of money that was Instigated by the Doctor Paying that kind of money for those HQ meats because it is true they needed it...but it is out of hand...and everyone is always asking on my forums...where did all the good chefs go...and the chefs are going there are no BEs to support the demand...its a viscious cycle that I hope ends once this CU happens.
We are short on Scout/Rangers, we are short on quality BEs---because of no BEs the chefs are dieing out and the ones that remains have alts that are BEs and a guild to bring them the meats they need....but still only a few survive.
I am unhappy that you all that craft are being shoved into the background of what you liked to do...but you CAN realicate if all you liked was crafting to becoming that Bio-Enigineering type. The lack of content for the Bio-engineer is going away....however even they are not 100% pleased with what they consider to be a mish mash of dumping anything that was taken away that was crafting onto them.
Everything is changing in SWG and I hope that all will be well recieved in the end...this is all still concept of course and if you still hate the idea maybe if enough of the Doctors suggest their displeasure and maybe the devs will reconsider...they do after all have to take in account the reception of their game has to be liked by the masses otherwise they are out of a job.
This is an interesting point. The more I've thought about it, the more I realize I really don't want to give up crafting, so I will definitely convert to 0004 BE. (I'll probably drop my Master status on rifleman also depending on how the CU works out the special attacks. Right now Headshot 3 is great, but with an ADK my T-21 rifle that does 650 damage unpuped, should still be pretty powerful post CU, and the overcharge shot may be enough but we'll see what they do with rifleman to make that decision). If so, I'll probably stop partnering up with friends and pick up at least artesian 0030 and get the ability to place my own vendors. However one alternative may be to investigate 0404 in BE.
I've been reading the BE forums the last few days and they have several concerns of their own.
- At present, med exp and BE exp will probably not be separate. That means that a 12 point crafting doc will be able to outcraft a MBE in medical supplies. It also means that a 0404 12 point doc will be able to craft tissues better than an MBE. This could cripple their economy as former docs could outcraft them in tissues and sell them to chefs for much less as, to the doc, it's nothing more than a secondary item.
- In order to be competitive, MBE's may need to gather their own +20 SEAs, and most of them can't afford them.
- 12 point docs are entering the BE profession with vast amounts of resources, which means they will significantly dominate the medical market. As many of these resources are usable in BE items, the 0404 dabbler (as they call the docs), may have an advantage over the BE out of the gate.
- There are MBE's who suffer critical failures on a continous basis. This is a known bug to the devs, (for over a year from what I've read), but the devs haven't dedicated any time to fixing it due to the CU and ROTW. It will NOT be fixed after the CU either. There are some BE's who have received upwards of 70 crit failures, even after stopping, logging off and on, and using the best resources they can find...
- BE's already face issues from chefs, so having us dumped into their profession has many of them feeling less than thrilled.
Just some observations I thought I'd share...

This is an excellent point, one that I hope the Doc Correspondent is taking note of...
Since Med XP is now tied to combat XP, they better make the proper changes to the FSXP conversion... the cap on Med XP has already been taken into account, but say bye-bye to 4:1 ratios boys!
