Thread: Enough of the Buffing Cost complaints
That is the risk people take...if they decide to chance their luck and PvP, that is their decision, that is not our problem. THey can either make credits with the buff or throw it away..that's their prerogative. That's my 2 cents. For crying out loud, I used to pay 10K just to put my armor on, completely waste the buffs, but I was willing, and I needed it , so I paid it.

As someone mentioned, not everyone get buffs to run 30k missions. There are plenty of people who get buffs that aren't yet masters and can't make that kind of money. There are people who get buffs for PvP and risk loosing them long before the duration runs out. And there are people who get buffs and go off to Dath to hunt nighsisters or whatever hoping for that special loot, but hardly get anything worth selling.
So, yes, moneygrinders doing janta/mokk missions earn back the money for a buff in a heartbeat, but a PvP'er who gets killed after half an hour.. 30k?

All us Doctors accross all servers need to do is have a 48 hour strike. Lets see how the masses manage without buffs for 2 days.
100k abuff here we come
I agree with the strike thing. Hell, UPS can do it, why can't we? I guarantee people would pay more.

I just got master doctor.
question why are prices so high? we are pricing ours selves out of bussiness.
we need to slow the prices down from resources all the way through.
we are hurting ourselves by making things to hard to afford.
i cant locate the high quaility stuff and when i buy pre made buffs a bag is 150k and only 2 hours on the buffs. folks complain and no way will they pay 10k
so i go in the hole major .
we really need to help each other not gouge.

Not being sarcastic, but I think you just answered your own question. ![]()
It isn't all about the price of resources. It's also the cost of time (crafting and buffing), the cost of hair transplants after a buff session, and most importantly, opportunitycosts.
Opportunity costs and time costs are way too high for a knowledgeable doc with an advanced combat prof to even consider buffing at anything less than 30k a pop (especially if you take the time to craft your own packs), unless you truly love public buffing as a social activity. Go do Janta or Enraged Rancormissions, pick up a million in payouts, cool loots for even more credits and compare it to how much you make buying packs and buffing in the SPs at 10k per.
Gouging? Don't know how resources are on your server and how the docs there price it but I seriously suggest that you make an effort to craft just one set of 900Pwr packs from scratch. It really opens eyes. ![]()
I won't buff the public but I have nothing against people wanting to public buff at8k or less. People will always have different priorities and opinions. But they should also respect the rights of those who choose to buff at the price that they think is appropriate compensation for their efforts. Supply and demand will take care of the rest. ![]()
I don't think there's any chance of the doctor community as a whole pricing itself out of business in the near future.
Walk into any populated city with a doctor tag and you'll be swamped with tells immediately.
Depending on what it contains, and if it ever happens, the combat balance may hurt demand for buffs, but that's about it.
And I'd wait until you can find buffs with competitive stats before you start buying very many of them, like you said the low quality ones are hard to sell and probably not worth your time to buy if you're intending to sell them.
