Thread: Item decay upon death = raise price of buffs
This is exactly why avian meat prices are going up at an alarming rate. Hunters see that you only need about 150 meat for 20+ full buffs at 5k each. At 100cpu your still making money assuming you bought the other resources for 3-10cpu(minus the herb meat).
If I'm doing 1k/point, then I make about 1500/charge, or about 30k for standard would pack. I am very happy with that profit. At 5k for all, I make 5k and don't have packs sitting in my inventory. With 30k, I can easily buy enough resources to make multiple enhance packs. No brainer, really.
For the most part, I don't advertise. People come to me. Some pay. Some don't. I am happy with that. I have a large bank account, so I really don't care about money. Buffing just provides me with pocket money.

Actually, except for rare ... well exceptions, hunters are completely unaware of anything involving crafting. For example, a seasoned veteran we had helping us relocate some factories didnt know that lairs caused no build zones. When Rangers started getting schematics that include flora (instead of just hide bone and meat), they would ask the most ridiculously newbie questions about where it came from. Did Chefs make it? Is it some loot off some weird thing? Could they buy it off of junk dealers, or other NPCs? Etc...
No offense, they just have no reason to know this stuff so they dont.
Meat prices are skyrocketing, because people will pay. We could be buying it decorate our houses for all they know or care. The issue is, if they post great herb meat for 20cpu on the bazaar it will sell, and quickly. So they up the price, and it sells, and they up it again, and it sells. This is due primarily to the lack of dealers, lack of supply. It takes more work to gather than mineable resources, and it is done by people who dont have any interest in crafting, and heck it is still often more profitable to mine metals for weaponsmiths anyways.

I'd like to see a standard rate based on quality.
Below 1000 - Free
1000-2000 1k per stat
2000-3000 2k per stat
3000+ 3k per stat.
I may start selling the set for EITHER 10k or the Above method, and let the buffee choose.
I've raised my price and posted that chart in my bio for now from 5k; however once I get 700 base/12000 duration I'll definately be charging at least 25k, especially on dantooine/endor. 3 hours of 1500-3000 enhancements allows a group to make at least 300-400k so we're only cheating ourselves if we continue to charge 5k with current resource prices and maintenance/power costs.
First of all i would like to say that we live in a player driven economy. We set the prices. I base my enhance price on what i feel my time is worth. Making money in this game is easy, finding the time to play the game is hard. If a doc feels that sitting in front of a starport advertizing and appying enhances for 5k for a full set is not a waste of time he will do it. I have no problems with that at all. I however don't do this because i enjoy other aspects of the game. I don't want to spend all of the time and effort that goes into making enhance packs to use them this way. I prefer to save them for myself and the players i do missions with.
I leave my charecter searchable with the master doc tag on. If someone asks me for an enhance i charge 15k.(Ihave advertised enahnce for 7k before but ihave stopped doing that). Alot of players get upset on15k for a full setand speak there mind about it. Others say great and gladly pay the price. They often send me tells when i am online to get more for the same price and travel to where i am to get the enhance. These are the players that make up most of my customers. i make d's that are always 850+ 11000, plus i have a full set of be clothes and a med droid rated at 110.
I feel that players who flame me for the prices i charge are the ones that have no clue what it takes to make quality enhances. I don't want to spend my time arguing with these players or constatly haggling over "thats not a fair price, the going rate is 5k your overcharging". The going rate for anything in this game is what someone thinks it is worth. For me to stop what i am doing, wait for someone to meet me, take the time to enhance them takes 15k of compensation for my time and loss of materials that i have to replace.
In short, gather the materials for yourself and make your enhances. Don't sell them for less than what u feel is fair compensation for the time to make your packs and apply them. Some will sell them for 5k a set and others for 25k a set. You and only you can decide what your time is worth. This should be the deciding factor in charging for enhances. If asked always be honest about the packs that u r using.
Oh, and always remember to give your favorite entertainers a deal. They will remember you when u need a mind enhance!

Greetings,
I have never sold buffs but I have considered it. Will all the money that is around I am sure for a nice set of buffs 10k is quite reasonable. I am sure on dant and other places you could get considerably more.
I was buffing myself once in the hospital when a guy I had seen many times popped in. After the other medics had healed him, I offered to buff him because I was buffing myself. He said sure. I buffed him and he tipped my 5k. Was not expecting it and well I don't really need the money.
Enjoy!
On a side note. Sitting around buffing is NOT the best way to make money. Sure, I make roughly 100% profit over my costs on buffs. (5k for 6 stats...average on Gorath).
But the time it takes me to buff 50k worth of patients, I can go do 3-4 15+kmissions. It's BORING to buffs. I do it as a service more than I do for cash.

I made about 200k in 30 minutes at the Imp outpsot on Dant. I'm Rebel so being Covert is a must. If someone over looks that I said that (I advertise COVERTS ONLY) I give them their money back and tell them to revert to covert if they really want the enhancements.
I think I will try putting a similar pricing table in my bio and see how it goes.

I charge 1 credit per unit enhanced, but am now thinking of rising my prices.
Thanks!
we need to start a thread about it on our forum i do it for 1k each flat rate and people hardly give me time to do stuff like find good resources, work on crafting, hunt some avians, maybe group(I go afk every 15 minutes ) .
using my mostly 864-880 packs i'll avg about 13k per full set if i charge 1 credit per point.
