Thread: Charging for Rez Yes or No?

I agree..if im there standing over them...then i wouldnt hesitate. Have to go out of my way, they will have to pay.

Too many replies to get to read them all, i'm the guy hes talkin about in the post, some of the dialogue is wrong but who cares really, he has the 'jist' of what happened. I was annoyed that some guy kept dragging the battle droids by me to get them off him (im a pikeman so practically every move i do aggro's EVERYTHING in a 10 meter radius).
So anyways, back to the point, i think its kinda a bit sad to do it.... why? well theres a guy lying on the ground(imagine your the one on the ground) and theres a doc RIGHT beside you and you know he can bring you back with the touch of a button but hes askin for money... you know if you dont give him the money your being put all the way back to the smuggler outpost, in which case you have to heal and drive all the way back to the bunker, which is a long way... so its either go through ALOT of hassle or pay someone who has the ability to rez you. In a way this is like you, the person on the ground, being forced to pay money to the guy.
Besides, res kits are like the cheapest useful thing you can make... what gives in using the resource excuse?

I use utter garbage in all my state/rez packs so I can be there to heal/rez and not have to worry about it costing me a fortune in resources. I mainly rez guild members and I dont charge them, sometimes I'll get a nice tip but I dont expect it.

Well both ways you will prolly die again without buffs. Read your post though, you really don't think that the doc deserves a tip for sparing you all that hastle? If you don't, well I wouldn't rez you either, you obviously only care about yourself.

Rez packs require factory crated components, build time and most importantly to me, my precious, already cramped inventory space. Now, unlike all the other meds I'm carrying, rez packs help me -0-, nada, zip, zilch, I'm using my inventory space to help you, the guy on the ground. Show some gratitude.
Doctors have already gotten beaten out of getting paid for wound heals. Idon'tthink we ever had poison cures, and disease cures are slipping away fast. That leaves us with Rez'ing and buffing. Now, you're going to be hard pressed to convince me that saving you decay and a long trip isn't worth something.

it would not acour to me to ask a guldie to pay for a buff/rez/heal. The oposite is true - if i happen to come across one in the field, ill stop and buff etc.
though otoh we are a smalish guild (about 30-40 players) and we have been together for some years as a clan.
I just see it as me helping them - i get food from our chef, armor, weapons, resourses,pets. we all pull together.

I rez only guildmates and group members who are in the same location I am.
I never travel to perform any doctor service.
I also tell the members of my group/guild never to say anything related to buffs, rez, heal, etc in spatial.
You see, my doctor skills are part of a combat template. I go adventuring to progress as a rifleman/PVE/PVP player, not a healer.
There is nothing worse than being in Fort Tusken, Geo Caves, wherever and getting the "doctor tef"
I don't charge the few people I rez or buff, but most of them tip me.

Ok i think people seem to be jumping the gun here... read the post before you go throwing out flames. First of all I am the guy who told him charging for rez's was lame. Secondly i WASNT on the ground dying.I was standing by, im a master doctor, i had just used my last rez pack. Now think about it, i had 2 packs of 17 charges and i just ran out.... only thinking about myself? i think not sonny. I've often died going places to try rez people... thinkin about myself? i think not. I have never made 1 credit profit out of giving a rez, not even a friendly tip of 1k for saving someone's life -thinking of myself? not at all.
So to whoever said im just thinkin of myself, you can shut up and sit down thank you very much.
Nextto whoever said you'll probably die again anyway without buffs, THAT iswhere the doc makes his bit of cash, if yourway out of townand someone dies hes obviously gonna ask you for buffs rather than going back to coronet and driving all the way back out to where he was.

I'd like to add something to that... I became a doctor to help people, KoNH(keepers of a new hope) they give me everything i need from money to armor to droids to food and drink. I was going to go pikeman +Combat medic but i decided to help out the guild before choosing something thats more fun. I became a doctor to help people, so charging them for a rez isnt really my idea of help. Its like if someone became an aid worker in africa, you dont charge the poor for your aid, its voluntary(and dont use the excuse that this is a game and africa is RL - its called an analogy).
Why do i charge for buffs then? because buffs arent really helping people, they're enhancing peoples abilities. They can fight without buffs if they want, all be it not too good.
Why would docs charge for wound heals? thats like an entertainer charging you to watch her/him to heal your mind, i know a person dancing is free and wound packs arent but think about it.... we can exp from healing, its not their fault that we're maxed out. If you dont wanna go buying expensive wound packs buy the crappy wound A packs. Its simple.
The only thing we should charge for in my eyes is enhancements.

As far as i can tell for me chargeing my Guild Mates 2k off the normal Price is not a crime. Its Dantoonie And after i Run out of the Buffs i have right now i'll be getting the Best Buff packs That i could find (900+ !) And i'll haved to pike up the price for my normal costermers (1k more since they are expensive buffs to buy) but for my guildies it will still be the same price. And that means 3k off the normal Price. Thats what people get for Buying the Over Powerd Buffs to Kill Animals on a Dangerous planet.As for helping my Guild members...Well i Give the Guild/town 1 million Credits Once and awhile. So when they Invest in me,they are Investing in the're own Guild/town.

Ive never charged for a rez but ive also never hunted someone down and rezed them. I do think that if I rez you, you owe me a debt of gratitude at least. Its tiring when you rez/heal/cure/....and dont even get a "Ty". Think of wha that doc saved you, time and yes money. If i rez you what kind os a loss does your armor take, what about if you clone? So noI dont expect money butI do expect some type of acknowledgement.
If you charge to rez well i dont think any less of you.

For a doc to take thr trouble to travel to you and rez u he has a right to ask (or demand as u say) a fee for the trouble, It all right saying it should not be a demand credits but 99.5% of players will NOT tip unless asked if they can get away with it even if its only travel expenses and a bit extra unlike, because we're taken for granted.
so if after giving your word to pay even if the doc asks it then cloning is low,
For anything other than Buffing Docs are treated for granted, and even sometimes with buffing.
I was getting my last box of swordsman today and was just heading out (with my swordsman tag on) when someone who knew I was a Doc ask me to buff them
I said "Sorry I'm not buffing right now I'm going hunting" (as I wanted to get my masterswordsman tag 
), he said can you plz buff me again, So I Said "I'm going hunting ) to which I got an Ok.......
), he said can you plz buff me again, So I Said "I'm going hunting ) to which I got an Ok.......as tho I should stop what I am doing and buff him, its actually the 1st time I have refused to buff someone ppl just presume I'll stop what i'm doing to tend to what they want, now a lot of the time I do, especially if there are no Doc's buffing, but docs have lives outside Buffing ppl and I think ppl forget that.
I do go out of my way to help ppl, and normally don't expect anything other than a thankyou but the fact that no one offers tip or anything (with a few nice exceptions which I remember and will go out of my way to help if they ask in the future) does bug me now and again :/
Maybe Aroma you should try being a Doc?? and see what I mean

charging for rezzes is lame....
i felt that way before i was master doc and i feel that way still.... i have never asked for credits for rezzing i'm especially notgonna fuss over ahandful of credits withsome dood lying on the ground helpless...
i'm master doc master rifleman, before that i was master doc master fencer.... it is fun to beat your way to someone and raise them from the dead... it's a rush... especially when you waste whatever it is that killed them and you know they're watchingyou going, "damn that dood owns...." i harvest all my ownresources and craft all my own materials so throwing a rez here or a cure disease there is nothing.... of course i don't always go out of my way to rez everybody but that's not usually a problem cause peeps can't call out when they're dead and i never ever wear a master doctor tag...
i don't see how people play combat classes and don't also have master doc.... i can't live without it.... my stims heal for 1000+... i am buffed 24/7 and it costs me nowhere near 10k every three hours.... i buff up wherever i am whenever i feel like it with no wait and no travel or searching... i can heal poison, disease, fire, dizzy, stun, blind, intimidated and bleeds on myself and my group instantly... my stats are balanced for buffs so i never have more than 399 wounds and my wound packs heal for like 1000 with the adjustment so one touch and bam healed... the best is when some guy with black ham is like, "kin sum 1 heal my wounds plz" and i hit em with a wound pack and heal like 800 wound damage in one hit and they go, "holy crapp"....
i gotta admit though that i am totally a closet doc.... i never ever wear a master doc tag or any medic or doc tag.... i hide to buff myself cause 19 people show up out of nowhere if you buff in public saying, "kin u buff me plz" and i'm like, "uh, i'm low on enhancement packs sry"..... i usually keep an eye out in dungeons and when someone dies i shoot them a quick tell saying, "don't clone.... consent me" so i can run over and give them a rez.... then i get out before they're like, "do u buff ?"
helping somebody out for a rez or a cure poison is one thing but standing around buffing six stats with a delay between each stat is a pain in the ass... i usually have stuff to do and **edit** to kill and even 10k isn't worth wating around for two minutes when i'm trying to have fun blasting stuff..... you can't buff one person without two others coming up and asking to be next so i don't even start on the first one i just say "sry i think i saw a master doc in coronet buffing for 10k" and then i skip outta there.... if i do buff a stranger i don't even ask for credits then i just do it for karma...
