yes, non-medics CAN use the droid, after its been loaded by a medic.

Some other info off of TC:

The droid has a range of about 30m. Meaning, the erson requesting a heal must be within 30m.

The delay between heals is an experimentable quality of the droid, and looks like it can range from about 5-15 seconds.

The capacity of the unit is based off of the total number of charges, not the number of individual packs.

Guess I don't keep up with TC enough. What's the medical rating on the droid and what's it's injury treatment mod?

Also keep in mind that if this becomes a serious problem and if we as docs feel after time that our services have been degraded because we feel we have been replaced by a droid (in other words hunting parties no longer want us) the devs can and probably will nerf this droid.

Let's see how it plays out.

P.S. You can also bet that if there is a way to exploit this droid someone will figure out how.

I know. Fixes take months with these devs. However I've been a master doc for a few months and you've been a medic much longer than that. Therefore I must ask this of you.

Do you really think a droid pumping out stim A's is going to replace us?

Players will still want buffs. Combat medics will still have ranged stims and players will still buy good stims.

It all depends on what the Combat Revamp brings and the specifics of the droid(still awaiting a chance to test some things).

They(devs) have mentioned that buffs will be brought 'in-line' and mind will become healable with the Combat Revamp. So it may not be until that time when we'll see the full impact a stim toting droid will have.

also not to mention, u can technically make Stim As with Janta blood. Kinda of a waste of the janta blood but in theory u can get a Stim A maybe in the 170 range. Could be useful to hand out to newbi players, to have a droid that heals them, following them around.

Then again, Vortexala is right, we really wont know the impact of this until combat revamp comes out, whenver that may be. For now its just something cool i think. Since most people dotn require healing due to buffs. Only use is for newbies. But then unlike the days of old, i really dont see newbie medics sitting in the Hospital like we use to, so i assume all newbie medics just tumble heal...

Ah the old days of 3 medics healing 1 person's wound, took 15 min, and we liked it!!@ ( ok maybe not...)

I fail to see the difference between this droid and doc buffs. Currently doc buffs negate the need for a medic anyway. When I'm buffed I don't use a stim. If this droid were useable by everyone it'd be no different. The players can't make the stims (just like they can't make the buffs) so in my mind it's no different. For very high end content a doc is still desired and for very high end content a stim A (as well as a Stim B for that matter) is worthless.

I don't see the difference. You've got plenty of people now going without novice medic because they play buffed 24/7. Ifwe don't complain about that then why complain about this? All I see with this droid is another way to make money. Now will an up and coming medic struggle? I don't think so. A stim A is worthless. A combat character with novice medic will get a stim B over a stim A every time. Up and coming medics can still join a hunt because the droids don't heal wounds and what kind of a injury treatment mod will that droid have anyway?

You talk about low end content. Well every combat class get's novice medic so they can use stims (which they don't make but buy) so they won't need a medic following them around for low end content.

I see my value as a Doctor every day and I have yet to go on a group hunt as a master doc. People buy my buffs by the truckloads and they buy my 400/40 stims off the bazzar as if they were going out of style.

While it's highly doubtful that non medics will be able to use this droid I fail to see the problem if they do.

more info:

  • Capacity is around 50-75 charges per module, depending on how its experimented. Multiple modules can be stacked within a droid. I.e. An R3 with 6 modules can hold 450+ charges(actually made on TC)

  • Stim A+ packs will NOT load, only regular Stim A's.

  • Delay between heals can be experimented down to 2-3 seconds (at the cost of charge capacity)

  • The droid will NOT respond if your incapped.

*Stim A+ schematics will NOT load.*

Does this imply that you load a scamatic into the droid?

how do you load it?

do you have to make crates?

What should i be prepping for because droids that do stuff is cool

sorry, should have said "Stim A+ packs will not load"

The way it works, is the droid has a special storage compartment. You load Stim A's into by dragging and droping just like any other inventory window. You cant load a crate into it directly, just individual packs.

Also, if your droid has a capacity of say 50 charges, but you have a bunch of stim A's you want to load that totals say 53 charges, after you drop the last Stim A pack in, it will cut off and drop the remaining 3 charges back in your main inventory, so you dont loose any charges and can completely fill up the droids capacity.
