"1. Instead of adding strength to a buff (because some buffs are already too powerful) we could adjust the duration. Make droid buffs last shorter than the hospital buffs. If a droid buff lasts only 2.5 hours let's say, we can make med center buffs last 3.5 hours."
I think this is a great idea.
"If we restrict this to only full size hospitals, unlike the tiny one on Dath, buffs on some planets and in some outposts will not be threatened."
I would rather have it restricted to player hospitals and have the doctor registration fixed, making player hospitals worthwhile. You could still get a buff in the Coronet Spaceport but you would get a better buff by going to a hospital in a player city.
Another idea is to require a droid in a player hospital which would remove the penalty without penalizing droid makers. It could be seen as a penalty to a docs that doesn't have a droid, but I don’t know of any.

Me. I don't have one. They seem to go for 100k to 1 mil. I think there are probab;y lots who don't have one.

For a long time I've been of the opinion that med droids should be removed and that docs should only be able to use their wound healing/stat enhancing ability in med centres/camps/player houses. In order to help spread the population across the galaxy I reckon that to use the med centre a doc should have to register their location on the planetary terminal to be able to use their abilities there, with there being a registration cap at each location. As soon as a player logs out or leaves the med centre their registration terminates and leaves a space open for someone else, but ultimately this will force docs to spread about, which can only be good for the combatants cos it means they won't have to travel to lag central to get sorted.
If buffing was an economic choice for doctors (as in med droids were only 100% and not 110%), then I think there would be more docs buffing in the med centers, but the med droids would still be in high demand--both for visibility in front of the starports, and for buffing in the field.
I want to see the /register system fixed, however, so that players may actually use it. Right now all player-owned med centers are always automatically registered, even when there is no player in the whole city. If this was fixed, and docs started registering, I'm sure there would be reason to start populating the med centers of the galaxy besides the capitals of each planet. This would be good for normal healing of wounds, as well as potential buffs.

Shop around man. I've seen adv MSE 110 med rated bots go for under 10k. I prefer the stronger ones though since all my bots but 1 have storage slots and I'd hate to loose my stored armor because I have crappy ratings with the local NPCs that spawn nearby. You honestly should be able to get a 110med droid with food crafting and storage for around 40k. If you just want the 110 med bot with no frils, you should be able to get that for around 10k.
If you are a doc then you should have a med droid. Even if it's jsut for the 10% better buffs.Even if you are just a medic, they are very handy for clearing up wounds while waiting for a shuttle.
