BRILLIANT!! Why didnt I think of that??!!

But seriously, I do allow line skips..I figure that if someone is willing to pay an extra 30-40k, they deserve to go before evryone...Like

Line skipping is free enterprise.

Walk into a car dealership wagging around bags of 100 dollar bills and see how long it takes for the salesrep to drop mom and pop trailerpark and come talk to you.

You may not like it if you are seeing people cut, but truth be told...a novice marksman can make back the 40-50k it takes to buy a cut in a half hour.

I for one am grateful for it because I dont' have to wait with all the tools that try to cut in front of you without paying anything.

Pay more or wait more.

Ijust want to say one thing about people who say doctors are greedy and are rich and what not. I have played this game since the second week it came out. I have been a doctor since about a week after that. If you have not played a doctor from that time on you really dont have a right to say anything about doctors being greedy and rich. We almost NEVER got paid for anything we did at the beginning. We would be lucky to get a 1k tip for healing 200+ wounds. People took huge advantage of doctors. Until buffs arrived the most money i ever had was around 50k. So i say if doctors can finally have a way to make the same money that armorsmiths and weaponsmiths and combat professions can make then so be it. If i choose to play a doctor, then i should have an option to make money as well. Basically i feel that it's a whole what goes around comes around kind of effect. Doctors used to be poor. Now we can be rich. Personally i like that. And besides, for the most part you pay what 12-15k for buffs. EVEN if you DONT run janta missions with that buff and all you do is go hit quenkers for xp, its till worth it because that 12k helped you stay alive fighting quenkers and it made thing faster and easier since you didnt have to clone and then heal and then go out againand the like. If you dont like paying a simple 12k to get buffed because you think its too much try going without it for a few days and see how easy it is to hit quenkers and jantas. You'll eventually see that 12k and more is actually worth it for all it helps you accomplish. Sorry about the long post I just havent said anything for a really long time and i had to get my piece in. Thanks.

P.S. Friendly debate on this subject is welcome but please dont flame me. I really hate getting into fights.

I have no issue whatsoever with the price of buffs. If you want to charge 8k, 15k, even 50k go ahead. The issue here isn't about the buff prices. the issue here is about waiting in line and watching half a dozen people that showed up later get buffed first. When you get to within a person or two of receiving a buff and then 4 people get in the 'overpay line', it gets pretty frustrating.

At the very least, if you are going to practice this type of business, use havla on your express line.

This isn't about the money at all. If two docs are buffing, I go to the shortest line andask about price later. If the line I am in allows the VIP service, I leave that line and go to a buff bot. I would much rather pay a atk doc then a buff bot but not one that allows line skipping.

Seams odd eh? If the doc announced that the buffs cost 30k at the start I would pay it but I won't wait the one extra person he VIPs through and pay 10k for those same buffs. I'd rather waste a lot of time and go pay for lesser buffs from someone I know can't allow line skipping. actually I wouldn't let one guy train me that used the VIP service... hehe he didn'tunderstand it but I'm not fond of those that practice either end of this service.

"Legal"? You're kidding, right? Should doctors doing this be afraid of a big, bad stormtrooper showing up and fining them?

It's a game, get over it.

I'm fairly new to the Doc profession as I made Master only a week ago. I don't believe in the "express lane" because I don't think it is fair to the customers who have already paid. I have made one exception so far...not thinking someone would take me seriously I told a guy it would cost him 100k to get to the front of the line (this is in addition to the 10k he already paid for the buff). To my suprise his friend paid the 100k for the "express lane". I had to keep my word of course (and I certainlywon't turn down that kind of credits) and "bumped" him to the beginning of the line. This has not changed my views on the "express lane" though, I still don't openly offer it BUT if someone sends me a direct tell I'll let them know that 100k will do it. Most people will flame me for it(asking such a ridiculous price will stop people from asking again, which is the whole purpose behind it anyway) and a (very) few might actually pay. I won't feel guilty accepting that amount of money for a bump up because I know that most people would do the same, and so for I only got one person crazy enough to do so.

I agree that line skipping is an action that isn't polite for those players who have been waiting in line. If the doc has line skipping in his buff shout, sure that's fine. Everyone knows about it from the start. If a different doc charges 50k (or whatever) for a no-line buff, then I'm all for that. No one in the regular line gets bumped back, and the high price is for the fast service.

I do like the idea of having line skippers pay for the buffs of everyone in front of them. It is good compensation for them waiting longer. I've even heard of paying half for everyone in front. Either way, it doesn't make the doc look greedy, and it takes into account the other players that are waiting in line.

I've only been a doc a few weeks now. I picked it up because I got sick of looking for one or waiting in long lines. Every once in a while, I forget about my tag and end up getting stuck at the MO on Dant or maybe in Theed buffing. Personally, I can't stand buffing, but I do it because people need them. At any rate, I abosolutely do not allow skipping. Thats crap. I dont buff for the money, I tell people to tip me whatever.

Allowing people to cut in line is a bit on the greedy side, but that';s how these people chose to operate their business. I have left buff lines after watching people come and get an immediate buff.

Check out my bank account, 20k.. my harvesters are running out of juice and there's no avian meat to be found on the market (so i cant make any good buff packs to make more money with..).

Forpete's sake, myRanger character is better in the money (has had to /tip my doc several times now) just from taking people to see the hermit quests and tracking a few critters.

Youreally have to adjust your play style a bit. There is no reason for any character that has played the game longer then a month to have only 20k. Money is so easy to obtain in this game. I even started another character on another server to try the crafting thing out. One of the ways he made a nice bit of coin was to buy crates of pixie and muon for 6k then sell the the singlesfor 1k each in a different area....lol sometime on the same bazaar. If you want some money, put your harvesters on nice resources and sell them. Even crap resources can get you 1.5 cpu at a minimum for quick cash.Destroy missions are the fastest income generator. My 're-seller' took up brawler and went to dant for a solo group once he could afford ubese. He was only able to kill 4 lairs in the run of a buff but that's 100k rightthere.

You obviously aren't playing to make money so you can't complain about not having money. There are lots of things to do in the game besides make money so enjoy whatever it is you are doing but you can't complain about being broke if you aren't trying to make money. That would be like me saying that my harvesters aren't getting meenough resources right now ... of course they are in deed form but they still aren't producing anything.

I don't do much public buffing anymore but when I did do it, I would offer havla line skips. The person gets to skip the line and the person after gets buffed with the havla too. Total time for the 2 people ~ 30 seconds... faster for everyone in linethan if the line skip never happened. This way, everyone's happy.
