I am slowly working my way up to doctor, mainly so I can buff myself and friends. I hate walking through coronet and hearing people running around asking "Who's buffing?", and "Where are all the Doctors?". I have TKM to support myself, and I would gladly pay a doctor 50k for a buff. In a 3 hour buff, I can make easily 500k on dantooine or Dath. Resource prices are through the roof, and mostly for crap resources. I am sick of paying 20 and 30 cpu for 500 and 600 quality meat and other resources. I spent one day going from coronet to naboo to talus looking for reasonable resources and couldn't find any anywhere.

For all you current doctors(especially on corbantis) don't be afraid to charge 40 or 50k for your services. Most of the mature players will pay it, the ones that smart of can very easily be ignored.

I'm not hiding. My alt wears his Master Doctor tag always but I don't buff the public so I get to type "/reply no I'm not" a lot.

I hate buffing for money....I've tried it awhile ago, and I will never go back, customers are so demanding. I realised I can make practically a million on one set of buffs as well (thank god, janta missions )...and I can stockpile on janta blood like nothing else. Ask any doc at all....you can't efficiently make a million credits buffing people in cnet in that timeslot (3-3.5 hours); because the customers will see that you don't

All of my buffs are for free...sure, they take time to make or cost a pretty penny, but in all actuallity people respect me more because of it. I rarely have lines anywhere, because I'm always on the move. I'm usually in groups, either with guild buddies (of course, they get free buffs) or just people I hang out with....If any of them need buffs, I won't hesitate. If I never met anyone before, and they need buffs, of course I provide. If they tip me, fine, but I don't ask for it, and I tell them that too. The point is, they respect me for it, and I rarely have /tell's that contain "COME TO CNET....I NEED BUFFS!!! QUICK!!!". They will come to me, or if I'm busy, they will wait. THIS concept is what a doctor should be like.

Most are hiding I think. Resourses are too expensive, people too rude, and sitting for hours on end buffing isn't many people's style. Those of you who do it, more power to ya.

Plus if you do PvP being a Dr or CM is a bullseye on your head.

I'm working my way to get Doc 0440 for now so that I will hopefully be able to buff myself. I am not intending to buff the general public as i don't fancy sitting around buffing people when i could be doing something else. I will however probably buff guildies and friends.

Hiding? hmm. I don't think i'd call it hiding. I've been a Master Doc/Rifleman for about 10 months. My early days were spent helping folks. I even worked the buff lines for a while. I enjoyed the social interaction and helping people.

Things seemed to turn bad. No manners, fraud, people /telling me asking if i'd stop whatever I was doing and fly to Dathomir to buff them. You get the picture. That's about the time I dropped my tag down to First Responder.

Folks who took the time to check me out and ask nicely, or people who i'd helped in the past were welcome to my services. Usually free. Now I heal at the starports and only buff people I know.

I prefer to view it not as hiding so much as fighting back for the dignity of my class.

I've actually done my share of public buffing, and often wear my Master Doctor tag. But I'm pretty sure an incident with a guy this morning will really cut down on my buff line working.

Started buffing, and two lines started to form. One person had been there first, so I started with that line. Guy that was in the other line tips me and demands I buff him, and I pretty much ignore him. After a while he starts getting pissy, and I explain to him that he'll have to wait in line like everyone else. Sometime around all of this, I tip him his money back. Then he starts yelling that I didn't give him his money back, and not to get buffs from me.

I was so close to just quit buffing right there.

But anyway.. enough of my rambling I guess.

It is quite a pain to buff in public.. because your constantly getting tells..

'What do your buffs hit for?'

'How much?'

'How long do they last?'

(Lather, rinse, and repeat.)

And then there's the punk that'll give you extra if you buff him before everyone else.

Bah!

I can stand all of it.

People are getting more polite..but questions..TIRED OF QUESTIONS!

I might as well put it in my bio and tell them to look there. Cus i'm Freakin Tired of it all.

Hey why don't Docs do taht? put all the info in the bio and that way people know everything..then they get used to it i guess..

But i guess it whould be a pain because people whould know that you are a buffer

My alt has been a MD for 3 months or so and just two days ago I decided to buff the public for money. I had all the gear, +25 wound BR clothing, +25 bivoli, 110 med droid and I bought 852 stat buff packs from another doc who sells them.

I have to say the experience was harrowing. Having bought buff from docs and having seen how they operate I tried touse the methodology I had observed. The formation of a line, seling 10-12k per buff, tellingpeople no bank tips, etc.

I found that most people were all business, they tip, theyget buffed they leave. Some were friendly with emotes like salute, bow etc, tip, buff leave.

Others intentionally disrupted the line by cutting, or jumping around trying to get me to mistarget a buff even though logically my target is locked. Some people would fill the public chat screen with emotes, like jump orpuke, etc and I would have to take a break from buffing and /addignore them.

What really pissed me off was the people who would interrogateyou about the quality ofthe buffs, what be clothing and bivoli you use etc...for god sake if I say I can buff at 2200+ at 3hrs for 12k **edit** else do they need to know??

What I did realize is that in 30 minutes I really only make about 100k in profit from one set of buffs....I can make that much doing Dantooine missions in that time or less with myprimary toon (TKM/MRifleman)....

I pay 95k for aset of buffs with 21 charges and the incidental costs of Bivoli and Brandy. In the end I think docs should charge more also...

Oh yah, I love the pople who tip you 10k whenyou say 12k and they claim thats all they have and they wear a high level combat tag....after the 2nd person did that I decided if people do that again I will tip them back and say find a cheaper doc to buff you.....

Lastly, I never wear my MD tag and have turned off the search function for my class/toon as I get nothing but tells from peopel nearby or on the planet asking for buffs or heals...hell..at first I was cool about healing people, curing diesase and what not to find they would not tip!!! Going forward when people ask for heals, wounds or disease I charge them up front...

The funny ones are people in the buff line who have 10-30 points of HA wounds and want a heal...I tell them them med center or a healing doc can heal them in a few minutes...it's a waste of my wound packs that can heal 150+ to heal 10 point wounds....

GreenBulb,

Thats a good idea actually, all we would have to do is take it out of the bio when we don't want the attention. I am going to try that. Put info the bio about what I charge and why with my buffing rules....a macro that tells people the prices, stats and to read the bio while in line....

Well I've only been a Doctor for a short while.... and yes I'm a bit of a buff bot. But people need buffs so I hide in the open most times. If a regular I know asks for a buff I open up shop and buff until the bivoli runs out or customers run outthen jump back into my armour and go hunting again...

Never again will I buff in Coronet.... the money is there but the lagg.... no way.

And on Chimera..... Doctors are a dime a dozen.

It is a good idea, but it won't help unfortunately. You're under-estimating the sheer stupidity factor. I've seen Docs macro spamming their price and details every30 secondswhile they are buffing and it never fails that someone will go up to the Doc and say "How much for buff?". It's at that point you want to get out the stupid stick and start whacking away.

I've been a Master Doc since February. I have not, nor will not, buff for the public - never. I don't have the patience for it or the willingness to put up with fools. I know that that 95% of the people who get buffed are polite, friendly, anddon't cause any problems. Unfortunately, the other 5% is what Docs will remember because of how badly these idiots behave.

I don't blame Docs for hiding their tag. I won't wear mine. I play the game to relax and have fun - not to deal with blithering idiots.

My hats off to Docs who alwaysbuff for the public. You're either very patient people and qualify for sainthood, or you're masochists

Ok then to pass the stupidity we could email all the stats prices ect to ourselfs and forward it to everyone that asks questions if they don't 'get it' we tell them to look in their email box
