any other changes to the resources requirements? How about the amount of resources used? What about the components?

I am sad to say that this is a BE issue and should be driven by BE's.


That being said... I already put a thread in the CU forum. However, that was when this list first came out and we had not had a chance to make some clear suggestions on how to change things.


I will try to work with the BE Corr as it would be better if he were the driving force. I have notdone a good job reading theBE forums so for all I know the BE's love it, but I dont think so.

HOW CAN THIS NOT BE A DOC ISSUE?!


Marrow get a grip of yourself and fight with us and dont push it awaylike this.


I cant care less where this crafting ends up. It is still US doctors who sits on these resources. It is OUR hard work on the line here. If I would go over to the BE forum I will show them clearly Ive given up.


Good initiative Nimhnoid, but we should fight for keeping the use of already existing resources then give in to this madness.

Med crafting may be a BE issue in the future, but its the doctor community (and CM community) that care about it right now. For those that read the BE boards, you can see that the interests and motivation of the BE community are very different than the doc community.


Rather than saying "It's not our territory" lets all try to work together to get the best possible product out of the CU! We would like you to lead the charge Marrow. Please take up the gauntlet.

The BE correspondent's list of things to test (stickied on that forum) does not even mention med crafting as something to be tested. It is also kinda unfair to ask the BE correspondent to fight for something that he knows very little about.

Just in case you over looked those parts.


This issue needs to be addressed with a united front between BE's and Doc and CM. Together we will have much better change of making med crafting the must fun that it canbe.

The biggest problem for any Doctor wanting to continue crafting is the component requirements. They dramatically outdwarf the other resources needed. And our existing components are hardly needed anymore.


Domesticated Oats and Herbivore Meat are very easy to get since they are present on multiple planets. Talus Water, Yavin Fiberplast and Dantooine Berries are always present as well, but maybe not in good quality. With the massive Iron spawns you can almost consider Dolovite always present too. The rest of them are rare and you may have to wait 1 to 2 months on average for each of them.


Stim C


Uses no rare resources. Docs probably have better Organics lying around.


Stim D


Uses Doc components only. But since ALS and ABEC now are needed only on Stim D and in dramatic lower quantities, there's a drastic oversupply of those resources. Getting enough from former Docs to make Stim Ds should be easy for any CM. The only problem for a CM is getting the Class 4 Liquid which is still needed in larger quantities.


Doc Bivoli D (Deuterium Toss Enhancer)


There are 3 rare resources needed here. Tolium Reactive (CM), Class 1 Radioactive (CM) and Class 4 Liquid Petro (Doc). CMs only need to find that Class 4 Liquid again while Docs have to search for both Tolium and Class 1 Radioactive.


Doc and CM Bivoli (All the other Enhancers)


They all use CM components in massive quantities plus few ASDS components. And finding ASDS resources is ridiculously easy. Docs have to find Tolium, Eleton Reactive, Class 1 Radioactive, Class 2 Liquid and Titanium Aluminium. If you want to make 100 of each item, you only need 5k to 20k of the various new resources. But you need over 200k of each of the CM component resources listed here.


Conclusion


As far as I can tell there is now only Stim C, Stim D and a few Bivolis left for Doctors.Strangely enough CMs will make better version of all our Bivoli except maybe the D version (Deuterium). And we have no way to compete on the various CM Bivolis. Then again it seems stupid to compete with CMs on CM-only items.


Any Doctor wanting to start a full medicine business need to hook up with a CM or buy millions of CM resources. The CMs will only want a stack or two of our Class 4 Liquid and whatever Wild Wheat and Fiber we threw in the dumpster. Oh, and they wouldn't mind any leftover Avian Meat either...

Sorry Marrow, but I read your inital post as you telling us politely that you had already stepped far enough out of your role and into another correspondent's turf.


As long as you are part of the team asking for attention to this issue, I feel a lot more comfortable. Then again, even if they don't change anything I will still give it a try since I don't really care that much for the combat/level-based situation in TC right now so I think crafting is my last go at the game.

yeah nimh, it just plan sucks... I'm not going to be crafting and most probably not playing doc. I'll get a new profession where I can bash monsters and not worry about crafting and stuff since Devs feel the need to kill the system and stuff.

How I took that post made me freak out Marrow, I pictured myself a broken down correspondent due to the cirumstances. Well Im wrong, keep up the good work.


Well I still think that medicine crafting DO belongs here in the doc forum until CU is released. Im not stoopid, I do now very well believe SOE will run us over on this and put it in the BE line no matter what. It doesnt bother me really since medicine crafting very well could be a BE thing and we who wanna continue to craft doesnt seem to loose any skillpoints changing.


I will however be a NAG and continue to fight for us docs that has stashes of resources soon to be greatly nerfed/worthless if SOE continues with its stoopidity.


My clear voice to the developers should be "Do not use any new resources in the medicine crafting as long as theres old ones that can be used".
