Bladepoint unles you plan to stay at the mining post and buff 24/7 then stop bitching about AFK docs. I run a AFK buff hosue with my alt Avenia. I had planed on closing it down when i opend up Jedi but now i have 150 - 250 peeps come buy my buff hosue every day. I log her in and get 10 tells in less then 1 minut so mabe you have a gripe with Afk buff houses but IMHO many non Doc players like them. And about the wound healing with a AFK doc this can be added to a macro with NP.

Im sick of peeps in SWG tring to push there openions on everyonr else and we all have dif, ways we play the game.

What he said. I was actually going to post praise about Avenia till I saw Tras' post. Before I got Master Doc, I'd been online many timeswhen 1) there were NO doctors buffing in Coronet or Theed and 2) It was prime time and there was a line of 15+ people = 30 minute wait. Avenia's buff house was a major time saver.

To me, it's FULLY worth it to pay EXTRA for the convenience of a buffbot. You go in, you get buffed, you're done. You don't have to wait long usually. They're usually (and Avenia - always) using high quality buffs.

As far as giving docs a bad name... I don't know where you get that. The "name" they're giving doctors is thatthey are providinga service 24/7 just like a hospital. If you went to hospital would you want to hear "Sorry, there's only 2 docs around and they both have long lines" or would you like to here "The doctor will be with you, meanwhile we'll hook you up to this ventilator and keep you alive while he's not here."

Plus, as other people said, it would be ridiculous to make buffing a master only skill to prevent afk-buffing. All the buff houses I know of are run by Master Docs already.

I don't think buffing should be moved to master doc. My template is Master Swordsman, 4/4/4/0 Doc, 3/0/3/0 Scout. I picked up Doctor so I can have the convenience of buffing myself instead of having to run around and waste time looking for a Doc who's buffing. A complaint I constantly hear from friends/guildmates is that they can't find anyone to buff them, or they have to run far out of their way to get a buff (and then burn a good 1/2 hour off the buffs waiting for variousshuttles to get back).

If the ehancing requirement were moved to Master I'd probably drop Scout to pick up Master Doc, but I really don't see why it's required. From what it sounds like, it doesn't seem to be an issue of skillpoint investment. I've already invested 105 skillpoints just to give myself decent buffs (and theystill aren't as good as a Master Doc's buffs). The whole "separating real docs from afk buffers" thing sounds just a tad elitist to me.

Maybe all weapon certs should be moved into the Master levels to separate "dabblers" from real combat toons. Maybe all creature harvesting should be moved into Master Scout/Ranger to separate "dabblers" from real hunters. Maybe all injury healing should be moved into Master Medic to separate "dabblers" from real medics. Sheesh, just leave well enough alone and get on with the game already.

I'm Master Doc and I think that this idea holds merit yes. However, it seems similar to the Artisans wanting harvestors for Master Artisans only. Instead of making Master Docs the only ones with buffing capability (after all most Master Doc mak money off people buying buffs who aren't MD) that it should pretty much stay the way it is now. You have to have a certain ammount of Medical skill in order to be able to use the packs to begin with. That and needing the Enhancement skill as well I think ensures that people that want doc aren't intimidated by the crafting. Besides it loads the starports up with Doctors who have no real clue on how to heal everybody leaving us MD's alone to do our real job. The general population gets their buffs they are happy. The non-MD's make money and they are happy. I get to apply my time to PVP, running missions, and crafting better buffs so I am happy.

I don't really see much point to this petition since most people that go doctor master it, though I can see it will reduce those "quick money making" doctors that only do 0240 skill.

I see alot more master doctors that don't have interest in carrying woundpacks, state heal packs and rez kits but only to have buffpacks on them and sell them when they're in a busy city.

I don't know but whatever, I'd say I sign.

hullo all

i am 2443 soon to be master.

i disagree thgouh. like it has been posted here, Doc is well balanced. It would be a shame to change it. and many non-master doc's, do it for themslvs.

besids, if there is a master around the medical profeser has no clients, and if there is no master, then he is filling a hole and that is GOOD.

For me, Doc it mostly for me and my guild, but i will prolly go every so often to the mining outpost etc, to buff.

I do agree thgouh if you are a Doc, have all the right packs on ya. But as i have discuvered, it not so easy - my inventory/pack is maxed out! (fencer weapons, combat food, crates of stims, and wound packs, the not-in-crate foods and stims, resourses... etc etc)

Travin you make some great points, the problem I have is with the perceived perception of our profession, which is money making greedy people who could care less about healing your wounds, or a field rez etc.

I revised my plan a bit so 0/4/4/0 docs could buff but not above Bs or maybe Cs. This would allow them to buff people for lower level mission while alloqwing Master Docs to do the kick ass buffs.

How about you break it up per level of Wound Treatment? You get the ability to enhance at Treatment 2, so make the doc at that level only be able to use Enhance A packs. Then Treatment 3 is B, 4 is C, and Master Doc is D.

Well first, buff bots provide a convenience, not lifesaving facility, so I think your comparison with a hospital is not valid. In addition they do not heal wounds, they are not a wound bot. I get hassled because there are no wound bots, but there are plenty of afk docs spamming for all they are worth buffing; there is no money in it (so, easy as the heal macro may, I've never seen a bot using it). In a way this is the fault of the commuity who don't seem to think wound healing is a service they need pay for, but at 15k a buff it can be difficult to sell the concept to players. (and in fact buffing is probably lucrative enough anyway.)

And so we come back to how to deal with frustrated players who do want to be healed, I don't want buff skills to be moved but I would like to see people being able to find me more easily than they can. It will save plenty of frustration on their part and then everyone is happy(ish).

I expect the med use level to rise when the combat balance comes so that only master docs can use d packs.

I'm not signing this.

The economy is ideally competition driven, dabblers with the uber buffs and a 89 med use rating buy their buffs, they help keep the prices down. If buffing went to Master Doc only, all the dabblers would drop their doc trees, Supply goes down and price goes up. Bad for the economy, bad for Docs.

I also dislike allthese holo-docs and their macro-tumbling buddies.

Last night I went around buffing all the tumblers in coronet (secondaries)
