Thread: CU Focus Thread: What to do with all those meds?

Up until a month ago, I ran five shops. I'd reached a point where I was ready to move into a state of what would be semi-retirement for me. I'd made my decision prior to the CU to close four of the five shops...the CU announcement just sealed the decision. In closing those locations I notified the 1,400 customers of those shops that the location was closing and that my main shop was going to remain in business. As a thank-you to those customers I reposted all the product at 1CR...and proceeded to sell out 34,000 units of meds in five days.

My main shop is going to run business as usual through the CU. I'm currently moving about 1,500-2,000 units of meds a day through that shop and a lot of my customers are grinding XP like mad prior to the CU, so I've told them that I'm going to keep normal stock levels to keep them supplied. I figure that if nothing else, the stock on the vendors when the CU hits will hold things over for a few days until my BE alt can craft new stock. If the converted product is not as good as the new crafted items, I'll either destroy it or post it at greatly reduced prices as the new stock is posted.

With B.

The best you will get is the best possible in the new system... there is 0 chance you will get something better then will be possible to craft after the CU... don't hold your breath on that one.

From looking at the trees and the skills, I don't think some very high price items, like buffs, will convert to very valuable items.. I'd use them up... te range scale on the new bufss is so small.. te best of the best buffs now will be 15% or something.. so there is not a big gap between 1-15 to file all possible crafted buffs into. Stuff will have to be lumped together in pretty big chunks.

Stuff like stims should convert pretty evenly.

The misc meds (states, blankets etc.) are not clear ATM.

Why stim B's?

I will assume that a master of a fight class can use a Stim D. If that is the case everyone will want Stim D's. If your playing the conversion gambling game then you may want to bang out Stim E's. However, who knows what a Live Stim to a CU stim coversion will be so anyones guess could be right.

I am kinda hopping that a single fight class master can use Stim C's while a double master can use Stim D's and a master of none can use B's. This will more evenly spread out the stim use.

I wouldn't even assume that much. They've stated that the stims usable by non-medical players will be much weaker, and one-use only. I would think they'd be comparable to a Stim B, at most, while Doc usable stims will still be D or E.

At any rate, if I were a crafter, I'd probably hold off until the CURB hits, just to see for sure.......or at least wait until TC comes into line with the changes, then get a jump on things.

I still have about 100 packs in each stat thatI made on patch day and they are all 960 power 3hrs30min, my regular stock runs from 850-940power, I am curently selling my normal stock dirt cheap andkeeping some for conversion, even if the conversion sucks I will have something to trade into sell immediately on patch day, even if they are not that good,I will have something on my vendor for sale.

I am not sure how long I will last after the CU, I am personally trying to finishmaking Jedi on my alt and hope that I can say I at least made Jedi before I probably end up quitting, I would be on test, but I really think this CU may be the end game from what I read.

I do look forward to new stuff to craft, I just hate that I wont be able to makeas much as I used to

Myfeeling may change once we actually know what we will be crafting and what requirements they are?

Keeptrying to findus some answers Marrow, I really appreciate yourefforts.

Currently on TC5 folks have been making Stim B's that hit for about 300ish and have about 12 charges. Realize of course that this is without great resouces and using non-advanced subs (StimBs can not use advanced unlike higher stims). So I dont think StimD will be all that weak.

There are no doc useable stims in the CU. The only stims are the self healing ones.

im crafting away. selling as much as i can before the cu. massing my creds for my combat toon. then after the cu goes live ill look things over again, if i still do not like it, ill deleat all my resources and stored meds. ( thats about 1100 sets of buffs ) over 30 mil in resources 80 resource deeds ....and just go combat toon. IM to lazy to auction them off (shrug ) so in short ill have one toon left ( two will be gone ) and jedi hunting will be my new job. Till i get bored with combat again.

peace tooth.....

Well i looted a bunch of enhancement stimpacks earlier on TC5, i wish the meds would convert into those, that'd be good money if you sold them post CU, things like + 10 pistol accuracy, etc...
It would even be better if you could craft them, but meh...

I'm making mostly stim Bs right now because I have thousands of the others already. After looking at what is probably going to happen to armorsmiths I think I'm better off gambling on stims converting to something. I'd rather do that than sit and pray my millions of units of resources don't instantly become worthless.

But on the other hand I really don't care, I've canceled my subscriptions but SOE has their chance to rebuild my confidence. Most of my subs are up just after the CF is supposed to go live so I'll have a few days to test the waters, which if it's anything like TC5, it will be more than enough time.

Tip to LEC/SOE: Sci-Fi MMO players don't necessarily belong to the same resource pool as fantasy MMO players.

havent made a run of anything since the CU announcement..... was going to wait and see what would come to pass, but now that we know what you will need to continue to craft by taking the BE tree, the resource requirements are insane, and 80-90 percent of current doc resources are not included in the process..... over 2 dozen new and rare resources to gather, things like mollusk and milk, egg and other things that are TEDIOUS to gather in sufficient amounts to last you more than a week of production.....

the cpu price tag on mollusk, egg, milk will be ridiculously high to get any hunter to gather such things for you.

in the end ive decided to cancel my crafting altogether, will be selling off alot of the stored resources i have built up over the months, then donating cash to my guild on starsider and cancelling overall accountaltogether.

Too early to make a decision just yet. I have been operating my stim B business as usual for now. Stims will still be needed in the game so I will see what it takes to continue and decide when it goes live if I will continue making stims.

At this point I plan to hang on to what I have. If it's not worth anything after the CU in the trash they go. Not even sure doc will be much worth having when it hits. Guess I will just wait to see what happens.
