My products are named according to the scheme "-ERI- Type Stats", where every stat is prefixed with a little letter telling what stat it is. So for example:
"-ERI- Stim B c40/p460/mu5": Stim B with 40 charges, 460 power and med use 5.
"-ERI- Buff Health c30/p895/d12502/mu90": Health buff 30 charges, 895 power, 12502 duration and 90 med use.
For my subcomponents I follow the same scheme, but append serial and date I crafted the schem, so:
"-ERI- ASDS p74 (xyz12345) 20050112": ASDS with 74 power, serial and schematic date of Feb. 12th, 2005.
I like to put my brand in front of the item description so all my stuff gets sorted next to each other in the bazaar, vendors that resell my stuff and in peoples inventory.

When naming my subs, I make a schematic for each different type of buff, so the name would be
ABEC Health
ACRDM Health
ASDS Health
That way when I am craftingI know exactly what to use with what.

For subs, I make up my own serial #'s and put them in the titles.
ABEC 14/25 #1500
ABEC 14/25 #2500
Those are just for having stock. If I am doing special sub crafting for a known final product I'll toss in something else ( "for Buffs"), something to that effect.

I keep mine pretty simple.
Stims are mostly used in this convention:
- <TIA> Stim-B 440/41/5 <Chani>
Buff packs i put a bit more in:
- Action Buff: 937/3.3/34/91Mu
- Serenity, Naboo
- <TIA> <Chani>
That way they can see the stats on the first line and not have my name/PA clutter up their sorting if by alpha.

Often vary it, but something along the lines of:
[TRS] "product" - "MU/power/uses" "waypoint"
[TRS] Small Stimpack E - MU40 1011 x 62 uses /way 4540 5820 Naboo
Sometimes I put the RRP too, if I think people are buying them to sell on at a profit - many vendors suffer this problem, and putting your recommended price and vendor location will put off rip-off merchants
