Thread: Is ninja buffing all that bad?

I think ninja buffing is bad, just because some people don't want to be buffed. I know alot of people who play unbuffed for the challange. Personally, I wouldn't care if someone ninja buffedme since I always play buffed and can overwrite them easily with my packs, but I know alot of people who don't like being buffed.

The XP excuse I don't get for that situation. It's not like the person is stealing hisorhis friend's xp.Also, docs ninja heal woundsas wellfor XPand people don't mind it. They acutally tip alot of times. But, if a person doesn't want to be buffed, then they have a right not to be buffed against their will no matter what their excuse is.

Now this I did a few times, with no problem. Can the devs add buffs that expand the neck mucles and thus constrict vocal cords, stopping the spammers in their tracks

I was doing the exact same thing last night in Coronet, CapnKate. But I was also ninja wound healing the folks as they landed at the starport and were still loading.

Is this bad form?

I think a few people are missing the point of the originator's post. He/She appeared to be more concerned over the fact that the person that was buffed seemed to be unnecessarily rude. Ok, maybe a very small percentage of people would rather not be unconsently buffed butdoes this justify profanity (which was mentioned but omitted from original post).

I think in hindsight Onohos would have probably been best off cutting the conversation short and leaving the guy to stew in his freshly buffed character.

Just do what I do,ninja the afk spammers in Coronet and Theed Then you don't have to listen to complaining, and you don't feel dirty, because they're being annoying to begin with!

One thing you can try is working with a full fledged DOC who is charging for buffs. Sit and buff everyone just before they get to the master DOC. Explain that they will be overwriten by the master doc but that you are doing your internship with XXXXX DOC, and then thank them for their time. Then the other DOC will still get money, you will get the XP, and you are not pissing anyone off.

Oh, I know. But plenty of people discussed the rudeness issue already. I felt it was more productive to offer alternatives that would cut out the possibility of rudeness entirely.

But on that note, I'm not sure it's precisely as rude as one thinks. Initially, it was "Please don't buff me", and okay, so the reason is trash, but it was polite enough. Granted, cussing someone out is always rude... but how polite was it to keep after him, telling him he could have it overwritten and so forth after his initial response?

Let's flip the coin a little. You're hopping shuttles, and someone is asking for buffs/heals, etc. Or you're otherwise too busy. So you respond with "Please don't ask me right now-- i don't have time." And said person responds with "But it'll just take a minute" and so on, and just won't accept "not now--I'm busy" as an answer. Maybe next they tell you they'll pay. How many times have we all been in that situation as doctors? And how, exactly, is it all that different?

So yes. He was rude, and cussing you out was in bad form. But i'm sorry to say, I think he was replying in kind, even though you weren't swearing at him. As many have already said, it's best to just apologize right off and move on.

Some things that might have been the case:

1) Was he opposing faction? A rebel player may object to helping to level an Imperial player in any way.

2) Buffing his stats may have thrown off any testing he was doing on his food/spice use and special HAM drains. (not likely)

3) Many players are quite frustrated with the grinding and spamming for AP that the hologrinding system has created. He may not have wanted to contribute to it in any way.
