Thread: get off the tumblers already

Whoever said Wookiee Armour was a small thing - you should really wake up. It wasn't fair that there was a race that could not wear armour even comparable to that of other players, while getting nothing of any real value in return. (Sure, our stats may have been SLIGHTLY higher, but that doesn't really matter much in the age of buffs.)

The real point is that it ruins the essence of the game. It's not supposed to be about just getting xp. I don't make rants but I make comments now and again, now being a good example.

Unfortunately, "getting xp" is THE ONLY way to progress inprofessions orFS quests or what notin this game

Kinda missed my point there..... it's not the only way to have fun though is it, or even nessesarilythe way to have fun.

look at it from the other side: u are interfering with THEIR game play.

cmon people, eveyone can play anyway they want, as long as they are not harrasing other players.

i see no problem with noobie playertumblers trying to make cash by tumbling. why not? they went and lerned a skill to enable them to do this! They are not begging for cashin the statports, they are doing a service. ATK/AFK? who cares. if you like ATK players - find one.

i actually think its too bad they will change that aspect of the HAM bars. All of us doc's who used tumblers (you know who u are *raises hand*) will never be willing to regrind without them. Also anyone who has been a doc for a few months, totaly forgets how it is without it. So leave tumblers alone.

first time i mastered medic , i did not know about tumblers, took me about a month of play. (it was my starter proff. i think) i had fun, yes. but i was not able to enjoy the benifits of master.

when i went doc 4 months ago around, i mastered both it in a week of medium play. I was then able to concentrate on becoming a good Doc. (though i do think AS A MATTER OF ETTIQUTE ONLY its nicer to hire a tumbler and go upstairs.)

they will missed, mark my words...

Actually, we agree with each other more than you might think. I went master doc just about 8 or 9 months ago when I started playing. (lol, just a funny thought I had...I did the medic, doc, and CM crafting trees entirely by stim A's...lmao) Yes, I did it by tumbling...but by a hired friend in a remote med center. I think we used Mos Espa or something. I just don't like the spam of "tip the tumblers." Tumbling for xp is great, pet tricking is far superior, but with tumbling, I wish it wasn't in the big, city med centers taking away from people who are trying to get heals. Go in an upper room, find a hired tumbler, go to a remote city, and PLEASE don't ask for tips for doing nothing.

Occasionally, I will hit theed's med center, sit down with my pet, and drain my pool to help aspiring doctors on their quest...as well as provide free training and knowledge to the profession. I'm here to help, and I think that is what the doc profession is here for, and the "mass tumbling" seems to take away from that.

It's not the tumbling that "interferrs" necessarily as it is the tumblers insisting on afk spamming and aspiring medics/doctors refusing treatment becuase it gets in the way of their afk macros. The road to doc is tough, but should that road change the destination of healing?

Tumblers never really bothered me.

I can heal loads of people just standing in front of theed starport or off to the side load-in on Coronet, Dant would be another good spot.

As they load in I can heal action & health at least - just pull my bot out and load up my wound packs.

Another good spot is near buff lines - a lot of peeps are 2nd and third trip customers - you can heal the line while the doc buffs, the buff doc does not care they have their hands full with the buff line anyway.

I found very few peeps use med centers anymore other than medics and tumblers looking forxp.

I consider myself to bean outpatient clinic. - a M.A.S.H. unit so to speak.

Um, what about the people like me that mastered doctor BEFORE TUMBLERS EVEN EXSISTED?

At that time you could actually find unbuffed, non-solo groups to hunt with so you could heal their damage while they were fighting. Things have changed a lot since then.

This game would be so much more interesting if this were still the case.

Maybe the problem isn’t that every one is distracted by tumblers maybe it the fact that people walk in with the attitude that their wounds are the most important thing in the medical center and anyone with medic over their head should drop what they are doing to heal them just so they can bow say ths and dart out the door to get back to the obviously more important business that they need to attend to (grinding or making money) they want as little interruption from grinding and making money as they can get but cry when we don’t want to be pulled away from our grind and then don’t pay for the heals we gave them that aren’t free for us. If you want to get wounds healed in a timely fashion and every one is working on a tumbler walk in and make an offer (ill pay *fill in amount* if you heal my wounds). I challenge you to try this approach and see how often you go into a med center with a few docs in it and don’t get healed. Medic is a profession in this game not a free service.

Well my friedns, I just grinded medic for the second time and am intent on actually making it to doc this time lol. My approach in the med center is just like it was the first time. I get great xp from healing wounds. (Of course it helps that I am decked out in BE clothing and I use my foods/drinks.) So what I do is find a tumbler or two who aren't being healed by too many others, I heal them over and over all while keeping an eye on the doors to see who comes in with wounds. I then motion the wounded player over to me and heal his wounds while I use the tumblers. The wound healing and injury healing are on separate timers. As long as the medic has his stats migrated correctly and has consumed brandy and ahrisa, there should be no problem keeping this cycle going. But I do agree that far too many people take advantage of us and walk away without paying. To those people, I say quit griping about all the docs spending their time buffing instead of healing your 5 wounds to health. We normally go broke until we hit master doc whereas any combat profession can make money while grinding. LOL Maybe they should make so you can't leave the med center until you pay.

I personally used the Entertainers to get Doctor. Most are more pleasurable to chat with than the career tumblers out there and really appreciate your help. I have formed some great friendships from my time in the Cantina’s. I have found if you buff their action and get them to use flourish with special effects you can get some nice healing XP. If you watch or listen to them you can get your mind or focus buffed at the same time. It is a win for all and a good time talking and gossiping if you are lucky enough to find a cool Entertainer to hang out with. I must warn you though you could meet some bad apples out there but do let that deter you. There are some nice and very awesome Entertainers that are willing and versed in what you need and are happy to help. Even if you can’t find one there are always new persons that are willing to learn and grow with you.

Good points...

It's not the fact of tumbling at all but the fact that it's so prevalent and many seem to now make it to master without ever healing a wound.Theres just something wrong about a doctor who may have never crafted a wound pack except his own.

Twas the time of the EQ dinosaurs. But then came the Buff age and they all went away except in some places called nooblandia.
