Depends on the SAC of the weapon in question. Sometimes faster is not always better. Of course, this really only would affect people who use macros of some form.... Since I use no macros or auto-attacks, my actions during battle are dictated completely by myself alone.

/agreed

Folks really ought to spend a little time learning their weapons and specials. All adrenalin is doing is giving them the opportunity to attack faster... nobody said they actually have to.

has anyone else been getting this? last night i was in a full group, healing and keeping everyone buffed and AB on everyone when a groupmate told me to stop giving him adrenaline boost becuase it was sucking all of his action. I told him yeah but its increasing your attack rate ,your DPS. He told me in a long fight against multiple mobs adrenaline boost can get him killed. I watched his action with AB and without and he was right it was plumetting much faster with AB on. After this i asked "anyone else not want AB?" and 3 more people asked me not to give it to them. Kind of disapointing as i thought this was the best thing a master doc could contribute. with me i always fight with AB on but i dont use as much action as some classes. High action classes do not like it it seems. From now on I'll always ask first

People are not used to have +40 combat speed all of the sudden and drain their action way too fast because they keep spamming their high-cost specials.
Faster attack speed means less time in-between attacks to regain action. So if they can fire 10 shots and regen action for 1 shot without AB, they now might only regen action for 0.5 shot with AB. Some people are not used to adapt their combat actions to their action / mind level and always try to spam their high-drain attacks because they think they can do more damage.
Example:
A rifleman usually alternates between Head Shot and Ranged Shot. He can do that for a long time since Ranged Shot does not take a lot of action, and over the cycle of the two attacks, the action regen almost equals one Head Shot, so the overall action level will drop very slowly.
If that rifleman now gets an AB and uses the same attacks, the action regen over the cycle is way less than one Head Shot needs (since there is less time to regen in), so by spamming the same attack cycle the rifleman ends up doing less total damage because he cannot do as much Head Shot / Ranged Shot combos before running out of action as before.
If the rifleman adapts and alternates between Ranged Shot / Placed Shot, he will do less damage per shot, but is able to run that attack combo forever, doing more total damage in the same timeframe the original Head Shot / Ranged Shot combo without AB needs.
If you give an AB buff, you also need to give an action regen buff. On high-SAC weapons the action buff will not make up for the action that is not regained between shots because of higher attack speeds, so to be able to use the same combos as without AB, one needs AB, action regen buff and action regen food.

Or... they could just stop spamming their specials as fast as they can, and look up at their HAM once in a while

It really depends what I am doing. If I am sitting at 80m taking down a turret I do not want AB. Here is why no matter what the turret will not be down by the time my action bar drains. However without AB I set my auto-attack to my highest damage special and and action will regen at the same rate I am firing. If I use AB I can regen as fast as I am firing. I am not trying to take it down fast but want a constant high damage over time. However when I stand and equip my pistol you better beleive I want that AB.

There is a simple way around this, just use ranged shot and placed shot. There are reports that the DPS is higher than spamming specials, and it uses less action.

The argument doesn't make any sense.

They are using the same amount of action they would normally, except faster. Therefore they are doing the same amount of damage they would normally do on a full action pool, except faster.

Doing damage faster then normal = good.

SAC powerup for taking turrets, Foods, AB + action regen buff= Your action bar barely moves on your best special...

And yes, alternating Ranged Shot and Place shot is a great way to deal with turrets if you dont have buffs

the people who dont want adrenal boosts need to go play dancers or something non combat related, i have +18 speed in tapes, force speed, and an adrenal buff and never run out of action, maybe ask them to use sac powerups? get a weapon with under 90 sac cost.

As a Doc, i've told other docs not to buff me with AB because it makes it damn near impossible to have the action to throw heals unless I stop autocombat entirally. Because of that, I usually forget to put AB on.

After the nerf we'll have to see how it is.

I don't really understand. If you have AB you still get the same damage per SAC. So you do the exact same damage on a full action bar to empty if AB'd, just you do that mass of damage that much quicker and in the difference of time you can fire ranged/melee/saber shot/hit so additional DPS

well with my 58 action cost assault bowcaster, with booster blue a doc action regen buff and food i can spam specials for extended periods of time without coming even close to running out of action, thats why i want the adrenal.

Yes same here, I use a 51 sac carbine, but I'm refering to people that have high SAC weapons that don't want AB for some silly reason. I'm just trying to say whether you have 25 or 1500 billion sac, it'll always be useful.

we raid the DWB alot and we have a Doc/CM come along and AB helps alot! I wish i could have a droid pet to give me AB buffs anytime i want if you manage your action its fine! if you fight like normal it will drain your action quick! but you can kill stuff alot quicker with it then without it action drain or not
