I don't take any agro from anyone, if they don't like my prices they can go get buffed elsewhere, if enough people would do this on Radiant i would surely help but everyone just conforms to their surroundings on this server, its amazing what some docs will put up with, and Doctors are the "field workers" of this game, but without us this game would be almost impossible, so to those that like to fu[c]k with the doctors of this game..... G I V E I T U P.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I hunt and buy my own janta blood and the packs that go over 1000 power have 300 power janta blood in them and decent resources, most of which I try to harvest myself. I am beginning to stop buffing the public, but I still have a list of about 100 regular customers who pay around 100k for the buffs because they don't come any higher than mine. Not to gloat or anything, but on Bloodfin, the unofficial PvP server, buff stats count and to date I have not seen any packs that go as high as mine. Granted, some have come close, but my base power on my packs has not been duplicated. For Doctor clothes, I only paid about 300k for my outfit, then about 2 mill in wound treatment speed tapes etc ( I have +45 wound treatment speed just in case you are wondering), about 20 mill for my doctor experimentation tapes (5 crafter apron, 25 in skill tapes), droid batteries arent too expensive, brandy isnt TOO terribly expensive, bivoli can run the price up some times, and havla for those who think that a buff in 30 seconds takes to long and needs a 3 second instant gratification. For all of this, AND RESOURCES, people still want to tell me I'm greedy. Thanks 12 yr olds, you make the world go round.

Oh yeah, one last issue I forgot to address. I have a screeny of me at 1 am with a line of 250 people plus in the Coronet Starport when I was the only doctor there. Granted the line was gone in about an hour and a half, it still seemed to take forever. I'll be postin the screeny soon.

“Everyone knows doctors are being taken advantage of …”
Now that is just goofy! How are we being taking advantage of? Is someone holding your pet hurton hostage and forcing you to buff them? I just don’t get it. No one can make you buff them, there is no way anyone can even know you’re a doctor unless you wear the title and/or make your character searchable.
You might be able to make a case that we are under appreciated but hey, get over it!
I enjoy being a doctor and no one is taking advantage of me. If you don’t enjoy being a doctor change professions, but please stop the constant whining!

Firstly, I do not have a pet hurton - the only pets I have are a Rancor which I can no longer use since I dropped CH and a Bantha that I've been meaning to find someone to mount for me, but haven't had a chance yet. And, of course, my trust medical droid.
Secondly, you took my post in a way it wasn't meant to be taken. Doctors ARE being taken advantage of by almost every profession. People "expect" us to be able to buff them. People "expect" us to heal their wounds for free. I don't mind healing wounds, and I'm thrilled when someone sees fit to tip me (I never ask for tips when healing - I think that's a little too much like begging) but I don't like the attitude that a lot of people seem to have that we are here to make THEIR game more fun. We're not working here, we're playing a game.
Constant whining? Please. Have some sense. Was I whining? No. I was merely stating my opinion in a rational manner. I don't appreciate your insults, but I can see you point of view. You really should, though, look up the meaning of "constant" in a dictionary (probably one without so many pictures) and perhaps look at the posts I've made in this forum and others and see all the "non-whining" I've done.

Sorry, you were whining. Call it an opinion but you were whining. This is yet another poor-underappreciated-underpaid-no-one-understands-us-overworked-targets-of-rudeness thread. Don't get me wrong, we docs love these threads because we can't but help to repsond to every single one of them - myself included.
But don't take umbrage for getting tagged as a whiner.
PS. I may not know any Latin but I used the word "umbrage" in corrct context and deserve points for that.

I know it's one of those posts, and I responded to it by saying "yes, doctors aren't treated the best" - and then Ashine came in and started being a bit of a tink and now you come and make a post that doesn't make a great deal of sense - since I didn't start this thread and merely responded to it. I really WASN'T whining, I like being a doctor and I was just stating what is taken as a truth that Doctors and Medics are thought of as service professions.
And yes, captenjonny, that's a very nice word.

I don’t see that as being taken advantage of. What is thier advantage to exploit? They can “expect” all they want, it doesn’t bother me. I can buff myself without waiting in line. I can buff my friends and guild mates. If I need some cash I can public buff to make money or I can put on a Rifleman tag and no one will know I’m a doctor. When I buff in public I make known the price I’m charging and if you don’t pay it, I don’t buff you. Seems to me that I have the advantage in this situation.

Not sure why you would think I was insulting you, other than perhaps you took umbrage based on the “if the shoe fits” principle. I didn’t even quote you, I quoted PaxEternus. Before he gets upset, my comments were not directed toward him either. They were directed at the stream of whiney post in the doctor’s forum.

This is my point. Doctors and Medics ARE service professions. We exist to provide a service to our customers. That is exactly what we are in the game. We EXIST to heal and buff. Some of us just heal and buff ourselves, some of us heal and buff our guilds and some of us heal and buff anyone with 10K-15K-20K-30K-50K-100K. The entire value of becoming a doctor is to be able to heal and buff!
In our land of make-believe we provide a service. If you ever held a service job you know that not everyone in the real world is nice, kind and considerate to you. Imagine the exponential blossum of rudeness when they can be rude to you from behind the guise of thier toon? My alt is a tailor, you don't think that tailors have these same issues? They get them over a 500 credit pair of boots!!!
So while we continue to propagate and encourage whiner threads let's not for a second get confused of what we actually are. We provide the service that make the game playable. But in the end it IS a service.
PS - Again, no Latin but "exponential blossum","guise" and "propagate" should make up snob points for the typo last time.
