This thread is about common courtesy, not money. We play this game just like everyone and if we make the effort to go out of our way to help someone, a simple thank you is not much to ask for.

I don't get the original poster's problem. When I tell someone to "tip what you think it's worth" I am FULLY prepaired that that player may tip me nothing. If he doesn't then fine. But I find it disingeniuos to tell someone to tip what its worth and then cry that he didn't tip you at all.
Let me solve your problem.
Player - "can you heal me?"
Doc - "sure, but I charge XXXX credits payable in advance"
Stop whining. Please.
Its unfortunate that you got one starred becasue you make a vrey valid point. I dosee the logic behind saying "tip what you think its worth". It shows players that yo arent greedy and usually gets yo a nice fat tip. But, to avoid any ungrateful players not tipping at all it woudl be wise to make all you prices very clear inadvance. It is no loss to the doc if someone refuses to pay. Youll get paid by someone else eventually.

You mean the valid point that people think docs are worthless slaves?
Sure, you can state a charge for wound healing up front, but people will be less than nice to you, Ive tried it. It gets tiresome after a while.

A response from the A$$.
I find it amusing that we are not allowed to call ouselves out on the carpet when we are so clearly in the wrong - as the original poster was - at the risk of being labled an A$$. But if the truth makes me an A$$, so be it.
He didn't ask for money. Got no money. Then complained (whined) about it. This makes him a hero? This then gets TWISTED into some bizarre rant thread that docs are unappreciated and should somehow be held in the same high regard that real-life doctors are.
First - might I remind you that we are all PRETEND DOCTORS!!!! What makes us any more admirable than all the pretend warriors, merchants, tailors, or entertainers? Our special skill is the ability to tap on a keyboard.
Second - Our road to master doc was no more hard -or easy- than any of the other professions. Again nothing special about our "expierence" to warrent the reverence some of you seem to feel we deserve.
Finally - You chose to live in a MMORG world because of the variety of people and personalities living there. If everyone were "please and thank you" there wouldn't be much point in playing now would there. Good and bad personalities color the game: good guys- bad guys. To expect that everyone will be on thier best behavior when they are costumed by a toon is true fantsy.
If I am an A$$ then so be it. We need more A$$es to point out that this forum is second only to the JEDI forum for whining about thier percieved sad standing in the game.

You were an a$s because you read a lot more into the original post than what was there. You saw what you wanted to see in itin a holier-than-thou BS attitude andnot what it was.
I'm not saying there haven't been a lot of whine posts on this forum. However, I didn't see how this was one of them. Hence, you were and still are just being a a$s.
If this was a whine post, then explain to me what ISN'T a bloody whine post.

I'm doc and I only charge for buffs.
If you grinded all the way here (m.doc) you should know that not anyone tips(well if you didn't grind on tumblers all the way).
Some tips, some don't, don't come whinning to boards that someone didn't tip you when you did not request money for it.
If I didn't charge for buffs would you be surprised some dudes wouldn't tip? good guess.....
