I have only been a Master Doctor for a couple months now but I am still stockpiling all the resources I'll need to actually make my own buff packs (so I only have packs that I have purchased from guildmates).
That being said, buffing random people for cash has never really gotten me too excited. I always have things I want to do in game and sitting there making sure people stay in line is definitely not one of them. I usually like to get out and work on my Pistoleer skills so I only end up buffing myself and a select few guildmates who are always on the same times I am. It is quite fun this way and the time spent buffing is minimal (not to mention your guildmates truly do appreciate you taking the time to buff them).
The buffs I have go about 2385 for 3 hrs (w/Bivoli, Treatment Clothes and Droid) so I am sure I could make some good money with them but not at the expense of my game time. I just think the average player has gotten spoiled now and it has somewhat ruined the profession. Heck, I played this game for at least 4-5 months before I even knew what a buff was.

I just tell them when they are rude, That that purple/blue dot is scaring me could you get it away and i will buff.
Ive only ever had one understand that.

Had to chime in, I've only had a couple of rude customers while buffing in swg, and the sweet liberating pleasure of telling them to take their biz elsewhere was extremely nice!
Most of us have been in a real-life situation where we would get fired for telling some rude, spoiled rotten little turd to go jump in front of a speeding semi, and we had to bite our tongues......THIS is a VIDEO GAME!! JUST SAY NO TO SWINE!!!

Just tonight I went on Dantooine to find some resources on a vendor I needed, and I forgot I had my Doctor title up (I usually don't when I don't want to get disturbed) and someone named "Hot Chick" wanted a buff, I was going to say 10K but she suddenly said "hold on I have no money", and she stood there like she was expecting me to give her free buffs so I sat there quietly without saying a word for 2 mins and then I said "do you have 8K?", another 2 mins of silence then she tips me 8K and I finally buff her.
I normally charge 10K, 3 more guys in her group comes up and requests buffs, I was going to say 10K but she tells them 8K and I explain to them that she said she was low on cr, slightly ruder remarks followed then I said fine I have to go now and catch the shuttle and log off (needed to get to bed badly)- one of them said "I rather get a buff from a REB instead" as if they're assuming I'm an Imp, yeah I'm glad that I'm neutral so I don't have to deal with this factioned stuff.
Part of the reason I don't do public buffs regularly, I have better things to do on my game time.

The thing though, I'm amazed at how even doctors can get away with crappy buffs and charge 12 - 15k. I mean I've seen some buff for 1500 - 1800 for at least 2 - 2.5 hours. I buff 2300 - 2600 for 3.5 hours and I only charge 6k (that's 1k for each stat). I realize that I can charge more, but customer satisfaction is what I'm after (I also realize that people go into the doc business for money but that's not how I play the game) and I prefer to give them quality buffs at a cheap, affordable price. Just my suggestion to you other doctors out there.

funny thing happened to me 2 days ago. i got scammed at least 5 times that day. well, not exactly funny but then i think about it and say hey, not real money so whatever.... one of the funniest was this guy came up to me, wanted a buff so i buffed him, i never really wait for them to tip first (which I should as a few of my fellow doctors already warned me I should) and then when he was buffed, he said thanks and said there u go... i got an email. i opened the email and it was from the fella itself, name was ragnos (not from the bank as normal bank tips would show) and it says ragnos has successfully tipped u 10000 into your account. I'm like what the heck is this? so i sent him a tell and what? he thinks it's my first day, yeah yeah I might be a girl and all but I have heard about bank tips scamms but this is BADDDDD. so he said no it's a real bank tip, i said yeah right, dun try to scam me man! and then after awhile, he finally admitted that he was broke and he's spent all his credits on his jedi char. if that was truly the case, come on, what kind of character is that? It was so blatant. ragnos has successfully tipped you. hahahahahaha, very funny

hehe...this is my second foray into the profession. Was a holo grinding whore(excuse the pun) and decided Bh was too much to stress over and quit and went back to my favorite professions, Sword and Doc.
Overall, I like the interaction of public buffing when there is nothing else going on. But i do rarely wear my Master tag, because tell hell comes quickly..
But you are sadly correct, I can foresee more interactions with "established customer" going sour will indeed run me from the public circle.....

You docs have all the power, so I make sure to kiss a lot of butt when I'm in one of yours lines. Most if it is just plain courtesy, but I also want to be able to go off and grind my profs or make twenty-thirty times the price of your awesome buffs!
Keep up the work with your profession, thanks to SOE anything worth doing now requires a buff!
Doctors are the things that keep the economy alive!

Sorry that happened to you but its really common. I think Ragnos had a pretty lame excuse to be honest. While hologrinding is ungodly expensive he didn't have what 10k? It is just a game and I'm glad you made that point. Some people get really upset about stuff like this but it seems you handled it pretty well.
