actually had someone interested which surprised me, of course they didnt want to pay the price. i didnt expect anyone to. so i added in 'OR WILL TAKE 5K OF THE CURRENT DATH CARNIVORE MEAT' well he gave me 5k of it lol. so i kept spamming that avian hunters are killing the dr economy. dont get me wrong, i agree with free trade, and personal gains. but 1 unit of any kind of resource that IS A CURRENT RESOURCE, should not be 400cpu.... just insane. some people thought what i was doin was funny. think some people really hated that there was a buff on the other end of that 25k.
eventually another doc came in and started up his practice and i continued killing rancors. no one paid the 25k which is about what the inflation on buffs are vs the inflation on the avian.... funny our customers want to charge US the inflation... yet the refuse to pay it themselves?
ok, pre flame answers. i dont buff anyone but friends and i dont charge them anything. guildees too. i dont charge any passerby with a disease or poison either. i just heal them. same withpeople with wounds. its not that im a bad dr. im just not a drug peddler and i am irritated at the prices of avian inflation.
Just trying to make a point, the wookies did it and they got armor. why cant i?
lol, i know what you mean! People should realize we are doing a service for them. They always expect us to charge so cheaply when it cost us (sometimes 1 mil and up) to make the buff packs ourselves. Our real price should be 25k and up (25 cheapest!) every doctor should start it,a new fad, people will just have to live with it. What are they saving there money for anyways? Most of the time there doing missions for xp and don't need the money! Whats 25k for a person who has 1mil+ in their account! Sometimes i have such high demand for buffs but i cant afford it!

wow, this thread really didnt go the way i was expecting! i was expecting flames
got flamed by a dr the other day who was in the same group as me, someone asked for a buff i said 5k of meat as a joke again. not really, id have taken it if he would have given it. the other DOCTOR starts yelling at me at how buffs cost pennies and thats over charging. well someone asked for a rez in group and the other dr said 'ill rez u for 5k of carn meat' i responded with 'funny i rez for free' and rezzed the guy, then i called out the other dr and said 'so why dont you buff for free?' so the jerk buffed 8 people with 2.5k buffs while i laughed and went to the next mission....
doctors unity is almost impossible.

So I'm sitting in the starport yesterday waiting on the shuttle and 2 guys come up with major wounds. Without saying anything, I pull my droid and heal their wounds. Both of them say Thanks and I say "no problem, glad to help". Then I check the time and it says 6 more minutes on shuttle so I yell, "Buffs 12K -2254 power for 3 hours." Immediately one of the guys who I just healed for free says "That's ridiculous! Buffs should be 6K." I ask him why exactly that is and he says "3 months ago all the docs were charging 6K." I explain to him that 1) It ain't 3 months ago and 2) That he can easily make up 12k by running missionsthat he can do with buffs that couldn't do without buffs. Then he says "That's exactly my point Janta missions on Dant pay 30K". (note: I don't understand his point here just saying what he said. Olli, if you're out there reading this please post a clarification).
So the funny part of the story (to me) is I tell him that since he's not a doctor, I don't think he understands at all what's required to make nice buff packs, and that if he would justgo get me 10000 units of Talus avian meat (highest currently in shift butmajor league SUCKS to hunt) then I'd give him free buffs for life. I haven't heard back from him yet...lol.

hunt my own, and always have.
though since I buff my guild for free when they need it our scouts/rangers are usually more than willing to fork over a few K of meat for me or help me hunt

I once went to dantooine after a server restart when there were no doctors around. I was about to start buffing when people began to curse out doctors, saying how much money they could be making, how it was costing them money, how they only had 6 hours to play, and how it was a doctors right to buff. I laughed all the way to lok.
On another note, when I had my master doctor tag up, but before I discovered the beauty of buffs (kinda ironic since I was a wookie before armor came out), so I had none on me. I get a couple of tells asking if I was buffing, but I get this one guy:
Him: Do you buff?
Me:No.
Him:Common all doctors buff.
Me: I don't
Him: WHAT!?!?! All doctors buff!
Me: I do not.
Him: All doctors do though!
-5 minutes later-
Him: (finding a doctor that can buff) Well you should sell buffs.
A few days later I drop doctor to go TKA/Commando, then discover the beauty of buffs, then promptly relearn doctor, dropping Commando.

I am a TKM/MD and harvest my own meat. The problem with avian meat is there are no creatures that drop alot of it. The current spawn has good avian on Tat. Only one creature, nuna, drops around 5 units. Most avain sells for around 2-300 cpu. I would have to find and kill 64 of them to make what I can make from one set of missions. I can run 2 Janta missions in under 5 minutes. Most good Avian is on creatures that drop 10 or less per kill. Herb and Carn meat are a different story but it depends on the planet they are on. Dath Carn at 5cpu sounds reasonable. I get money for the mission and the meat is a bonus and alot drops at a time.

right now on bria, dath carn meat is the best on the server. WEIRD. but true. so not the harvesting people for dath carn meat are selling it from 10-30cpu WHILE ITS STILL IN SPAWN. ive personally harvested almost 200k of the stuff. and will keep harvesting till the spawn shifts for personal use..... but i dont understand how when you can get 150 units from one harvest, people can sell it for over 5cpu.....
people who use resources are getting lazy i think. money could be better used elsewhere.... like buying buffs? lol
tired of outrageous resource prices. i remember back in the day when someone said '20cpu for this avia' which had oq over 900. and i was like 'YOUR CRAZY' and they dropped their price to 15.... not its 200 cpu dropping it down to 150.... insane
oh yeah, any more stories?

I can understand the premium on Avian meat and certain spawns of Herbivore meat. They are difficult to get large quantities of - even for a ranger. So, I can understand and accept paying a premium for it because that same ranger can hunt other meats or hides and get larger quantities and more same or more money with less hassles.
The above poster mentioned Carnivore Meat. If Avian meat dropped from Rancors, players would not be able to command those kinds of prices because you're able to harvesters vast quanitities of it quickly. Thats why even the best Carnivore meat peaks at about 30 cpu - give or take.
That being said, 400 cpu did send a shiver up my spine. That may be a little over doing it unless its a very old, very high quality meat.

/agree with 99% of whats been said here.
The one thing that burns me up is everybody assuming that all docs are rich. I wont go into the math but whenever a noob asks me how to make money quick, I tell them to go ranger. Done Doc and Ranger and I definatly hit my payday selling meat.
Once I decided to give up the hologrind I went doc to enjoy crafting, buffing and (attempting) to run a business.
Gets kind of embarrasing when people in my buff line are always trying to sell me old meat spawns or loot for insane prices because they think that I have a huge bank. Really dont want to tell them that despite collecting 10k about every 2 minutes while buffing, im spending it just as quickly.
Oh and of course you gotta love the /tells "so making a ton of money today doc?"
