A couple of days ago at server up (bria) i logged into Dath. looked around and saw no dr's. now im not a buff bot. I used to be, and see nothing wrong with it, but i mastered my combat class and make money elsewhere now. But i am a master dr.

Since there were no dr's around everyone was yelling 'wheres the buffer?' so i threw on my master tag and started spamming 'SINCE THE PRICE OF INFLATION OF AVIAN MEAT, AND I'M TIRED OF BEING *edit*ed BY THE SUPLIERS, INFLATION FOR MY SUB PAR BUFFS 25K'

actually had someone interested which surprised me, of course they didnt want to pay the price. i didnt expect anyone to. so i added in 'OR WILL TAKE 5K OF THE CURRENT DATH CARNIVORE MEAT' well he gave me 5k of it lol. so i kept spamming that avian hunters are killing the dr economy. dont get me wrong, i agree with free trade, and personal gains. but 1 unit of any kind of resource that IS A CURRENT RESOURCE, should not be 400cpu.... just insane. some people thought what i was doin was funny. think some people really hated that there was a buff on the other end of that 25k.

eventually another doc came in and started up his practice and i continued killing rancors. no one paid the 25k which is about what the inflation on buffs are vs the inflation on the avian.... funny our customers want to charge US the inflation... yet the refuse to pay it themselves?

ok, pre flame answers. i dont buff anyone but friends and i dont charge them anything. guildees too. i dont charge any passerby with a disease or poison either. i just heal them. same withpeople with wounds. its not that im a bad dr. im just not a drug peddler and i am irritated at the prices of avian inflation.

Just trying to make a point, the wookies did it and they got armor. why cant i?

It's interesting to log onto a hunting planet shortly after restart, before any other buffers show up. All the hunters wander around aimlessly yelling "Is anyone buffing?" "Looking for buff, PST!" They seem so lost.

I had a Force sensitive character, with 23 and a half boxes ground out.
I had a master creature handler.
I had a high lvl crafter character.
I had a Bounty Hunter that I hunted PC Jedi with.

My game is dead.

25k for a buff is not that much, i can make that back and 12k more easily in just 1 mission.

i agree with you, especially on dath. funny thing is those combat type people sure didnt think 25k was a fair price.... but the 400cpu for that avian they were charging 3 weeks ago, Us dr's arent supposed ta agrue coz were all rich! /sarcasm off

my stance is this-- TIME IS MONEY... i only play a couple hours a day and i dont have the time to fly to coronet and wait in a long ass line then fly back. i would easily pay 25K for buffs because i can make it up in 5 minutes!! i wish people wouldnt complain about the buff prices...

wow, this really isnt where i expected this thread to go! i was thinkin of stopping the price gouging on avian meat, not raisin the price of buffs lol

although a funny concept came to me. other then the 5% it costs to bank tip, is there ever a way the system takes money back out of the economy? or is the economy just going to keep growing exponentially? theres some fodder for thought

I totally agree with you charging 25k. It's simple supply and demand, your the only Doc on the planet, therefore you can charge whatever you like.

I just don't understand player reluctance to spend more than 10k on buffs. I mean, decent buffs, 2300 to 2500 for 3hrs for instance can net any decent combat player well over 250k in mission credits. Even at 25k for a buff, if I can make 10 times that back within 3hrs it sounds like a good investment to me. I only wish I could make that kind of coin irl.

Speculate to accumulate, not a common phrase amongst SWG players wanting buffs

Other than mantaince, swoop repair, and a few other small items there isnt many money SINKS in the game. The economy will continue to grow exponentially. Unless something drastic is done it is gunna get alot worse.

Once you have established your self in this game, basically figured out how to play, the small things are nothing. Shuttle fees, repairs, housing cost etc.

There is also the travel costs .... If you think about how many times someone travels during gameplay and how many players are online that is a considerable amount of credits.

Best bet is to just pick up basic scout skills and do the gathering yourself. I'm Tka/Doc and that leaves me 18 points left over to swing from either artisan (for harvestors) or to scout (for harvesting)

Saves me a lot of money.

LOL

That strikes me a terrably funny and sadly, all too true. I think we are all addicted to the drugs, and I don't think we are going to react well when SOE cuts back our supply of our drug (buffs)

Darn you combat rebalace! =)

They actually monitor that economy thing, and it turns out that some months more money is taken out of circulation than put into it, it spikes, people get poor, they grind missions, they get content, money is lost to services and they need money again, its a cycle. I used to think that inflation was inevitable too, but aparently not... sides, top 5 percent of the populations on the servers hold 90 percent of the wealth, there are billionares guys... thats where your money is ending up.

Totally agree on all counts. I harvest myself to make ends meet, but it's slow going when the spawn on bria is tatooine avian and I get about 1 pack worth of meat for lair. I'll never find time to buff. I rarely buff the public, I can do it for a few minutes at a time but it's easier to hunt for the cash. If you ask nicely I'll buff you cheaply or freeto help a player out,but courtesies like that in the game are becoming rarer as the avian market gets tighter. I get in a bad mood when i lose 22 units on a failed experimentation point
