I feel there should be a /fee command. You target the player and use /fee so a pop-up window comes up for them and if they click "pay" you perform the service and payment is automatically transfered to your account. I think it's the perfect solution for many professions and you can choose the amount to charge and change it anytime.

just my 2 cents

I never charge for Rez, but I often get tipped, or the asker will /tell Hey man, I need a rez, i will pay X if you come and help?

I never refuse the money, and what I have made has outwieghed what I paid for the kits.....It is a service.

Same in the Med Cntrs. If I am there, I expect to be asked to heal. If someone comes in I usually wait to see if anyone else runs up to heal them for the xp, if they do not, i throw a few stims at em and 6 out of 10 times I get a tip, sometimes alot more than the service was really worth, mostly a couple hundred or so.

Bottom line is, if your a Doc, and you wear the title, it is my opinion that two things should/would happen:

1. You SHOULD help out your fellow travellers as long as it doesn't bust you.

2. MOST ppl are appreciative of your work and will try to tip SOMETHING. So you SHOULD make something at the end of the day.

I give away alot of stuff. Rez, Buffs, Heals, but I have yet to end a day and feel like I haven't made more than I spent. Not to mention the friendships it helps develop.

I've been a medic/doc since release and #2 is wishful thinking. Most players value only buffs and rezzes and if you give thesewithout a set price most people will lowball you compared to what they usually pay happily to someone who charges up front. "Should" make something or barely break even are hardly incentives for doctors to provide services.

Because of this, for #1 doctors shouldn't practice their trade without adequate compensation. Not being able to make a living as a dedicated doctorcharacteris one the major issues facing docs.
