Thread: Resources reaching monstrous prices
a lot of newbie resource sellers dont understand QUALITY, also some massive resource sellers dont CARE about quality and sell cheap no matter what the resource is. Someone who is selling 300OQ avian meat herd from a friend that someone got that for avian, they just had no idea it was a particular avian, not just any avian.
I like to help educate people! I took up TK and swordsmen so I could kill stuff myself!
It is not really that hard.
Just go to SWGCraft.com and check on avian meat everyday. It takes 30 second per day and you can do it right before you login for the day.
Always check Lok, Endor, Dathomir, Yavin (although I never hunted there for avian).
The reason is you wanna go when good avian pops in high level planets where each harvest give you 70-110 meat instead of peanut planet like naboo or rori where you get 110 meat per mission.
with 2 of my friends, spending 45 min hunting in endor, I got about 12k decent quality insect meat off tick(plus 120k credit) that will last me at least a week or two.
I spent about 2hr on sunday hunting in Naboo for measly 3k avian meat off kaadu (plus crummy 16k credit) which wouldn't last me two factory run.
I disagree about the price of avian/insect meat. They are not really out of line since they are not normal mob you kill to level like wild meat or carnivor meat. Most of these came from someone who went specifically hunt for them and I think they deserve more for their trouble than someone who just end up with tons of them after holo-grinding their combat prof.
I don't mind paying 30 cpu for good herbivore but I won't pay that much for avian.
Astack of 3K units (and some good assembly rolls) will be able to net you 6 crates of 25 each.
What I do is wait until a decent spawn of avain appears on a planet where the mobs drop more than 4 units. On naboo kaduu's drop about 20 per, on Lok perlek's drop about 30 per, lantern birds drop 20ish on Yavin and reptillian fliers drop above 20 as well, on Talus guginlaws (or whatever) drop 20 ish units. All this is with just novice scout.
I don't mass produce buff paks so I just hold out until the meat on those planets is decent then hunt my own.

your VERY lucky if you can gert 200-400 units of avian from one lair. the only good meat on Gorath for awhile was 911pe 924oq and it droped off dathamier reptilian flyers. you were lucky if you could get 80 units off one lair. I'd realy like to know WHAT animal drops 200units of AVIAN meat per lair. please do tell.

Don't be afraid to spend some credits to make some credits. Your a doctor for christs sake.
In galaxies, like everything, you have to spend money to make money.
I had a post in Bria trade awhile back about selling buff packs.
Paying 80cpu for avian and 75cpu for herbivore still resulted in almost an 85% profit.
Heh.

om Gorath I just made a post saying I will give 1.2 mil to anyone who will get me 30k units of the new 911pe 924 oq avian meat that is spawning, and while thats only 40 cpu, 1.2 million is a very good insentive. that 30k avian meat is enought to make (I think) over 200 buff SETS not packs, sets. if each buff has 30 charges (I have 12 exp points so thats not hard) thats 6000 buffs. now noone wants to sit and buff 6000 people, but if you did and you charged only 5k a buff, you would make 30 million credits. if you charged 10k you would make 60 mill. now I know all the other resourses factor in but I will bet you won't have to pay more then 2-3 mil for ALL the other resourses you would need for those 200 buff packs. and thats only if they were good resourses. anyway just my two credits.
I was bored so I did the math..
To buff 6000 people, it would take 200 hours.. (Assuming 2 mins per set with managing money, tell, etc)
Now THATS a lot of buffing
*Wanders off to try to figure out how many buffs I have done in my SWG lifetime*
The probelm is even as a master ranger the most you can get off most avian species is ~30units.
Herb meat you can get over 100units if you hunt the right things.
It's the time to gather the resource you are paying for. you really are better off getting the resource yourself.
Not when you sell around250 sets a week.
I use roughly 35k of avian a week.
If I would have hunted a months worth supply on my own, I wouldn't have gotten very many factory runs finished.
I hunted as much as I could on my own, but I paid very well for some also, it is just worthwhile expense to my business in my opinion.
Yup.
Sure you have to factor in time, factories, etc.
But still, if I hunt half/buy half of my avian/herbivore, and mine half/buy half of my other resources, I still make a few credits to spare, heh.
