not going to happen regardless how you play. The devs want us in groups, they've made that perfectly clear a number of times since the CU.

Why does everyone constantly complain that Doctors getting xp from healing in medcenters will cause people to afk heal. Take away their option!! I am sick of these lazy A$$HOLES ruining my gaming xp. I am a new doc and my ONLY way to get xp is to go out and fight, something I don't want to do as a doc. So when I ask if I can get med xp for healing in medcenters (btw its a HUGE amount of xp I need to get to master doc.........) I get told that people will afk cheat. Hmmm, why punish me then? Take away there ability to cheat!!!!! For God's sake devs please listen! /sigh

I ground Doc post-CU. (My char is entirely post-cu). It's not that hard if you group like you would for any other COMBAT profession. It's the same amount of xp a Pistoleer needs to get master. You get the same amount of xp a Pistoleer would for each creature. (At the same level). So the amount of xp you need is irrelevant to the discussion.
And you have to learn that when there's an opportunity to exploit the system (ANY system, even outside a game), people will. You may not, and I believe you, because I don't either. But there are MORE out there who will run an afk-macro to master something, then whine "oh it took me 3 weeks to master, MAKE ME STRONGER".
As for regards to taking away the ability to exploit, I believe I saw that they are actually intended to change how macro's work, or something to that effect, to prevent this AFK mastering garbage.

On another point however Docs are a combat prof, even if you don't want it to be.You get armor adjustments, defensive bonus, area affliction heal, bacta infusion (is a totally combat oriented skill). You may ask what is a combat medic's function then, it's mainly offensive, the ability to cause medical afflictions on others they have an area heal that does less good then bactashot
Finally someone who gets it. Combat Medics use medicine in a backwards fashion. Doctors cure poisons, diseases, fires, etc. Combat Medics INFLICT these. They counter each other.
People, stop whining that a Doctor doesn't belong in the field because that's a CM's role. To make CM's role effective in THAT manner, they'd have to get an incredible boost, and Doctors would feel nerfed. You say Doctors belong in MedCenters. Then the DEV's might as well take away all our heals, since YOU think we're not supposed to use them. We're only supposed to heal wounds and be buffbots, after all! /puke

Seeing the ammount of entertainers that afk for experience, i really don't see why people shouldn't get xp for afk healing wounds.
I think that's a backwards approach. "Hey, look at them. They don't have to work for their xp. I shouldn't either."
Instead, let's try "Hey, I'm sitting here hunting in groups for hours, and that dancer is out at the mall, but still getting xp. Take away the ability to loop macro!"
Yeah, much better.

I'm sorry, but the "get xp for healing in medcenters" will turn into afk-exp bots. I'd rather NOT see that happen. That's why they changed Docs to what they did.
You can STILL sit in a Medcenter and heal wounds. You can STILL get tipped (if you feel you need to) for healing wounds.
The only thing diminishing our Wound Healing, is the Jedi Wound Healing. Everything else is perfect as it is. I get a lot of tells asking if I can heal people's wounds. I always do (as long as the're off duty), and discourage tip. I do it out of good will and a sense of community. I'd rather not lose that, so you or someone else can log your toon in, go afk for 5 hours, and run a heal wound macro to grind through Doc.
If they ever bring that back, I'll never take a Doc seriously again.

But sometimes you have to give the players a honeycake in order for them to be happy about changes. (only healing in a CL80 group is much faster either way)

Yeah, much better.

Was just an example. I agree that looping macros can have their uses (a looping macro is the only reason I'm able to listen to musicians these days), but when a player can make a macro, then go out to a football game, come back, train, run a macro, go out to the mall, come back and train some more-- I don't mind sacrificing my macro's to get those lazy bums doing some work.

I don't know about you guys but i time out after 1 hour even with a macro running (i was only running a smile macro to keep in the game). perhaps they fixed it now that macro's don't count towards and afk timeout?
