Thread: Factories Finally Fixed?
The last time we needed to redeed the Devs told us. Although it wouldn't surprise me if they simply forgot, don't have any confirmation of this yet... If anyone finds out, please post a thread on it. thx
Well, 4 hours and 151 stims later, my factory is still going strong pulling from crates.
I DID NOT redeed this morning when I started it off. I read the patch notes, thought "What the heck, I'll give it a try," and threw in a bunch of crates of subcomponents.
So far, so good - but I tried not to breathe on it too hard or look at it funny.
Mcglonec, how many subcomponent crates of Each did you put into your factory, and are what Stim are you making.
One of the issues is if you put 3 crates of each subcomponent for Stim B's (BEC, LS, CRD) it would stop at 100 cuz you'd need 2x the # of crates for each subcomponent, usually the BEC's.

I'm running Stim B's and I don't remember eaxctly how many cratesI put in - probably 4-5 of each. So, all in all, I should end up with 200-250 stims when I'm done. Like I said, when I checked, it had run to 151 without stopping (I even hung around to make sure it made that new crate at 151).
In the past, I've always pulled subcomponents out one by one, so I don't know what that second issue is you're talking about.
Perhaps I just got lucky this time, but this is the best my factories have EVER run. Maybe I'll be able to keep up with orders a little better now. I'll just keep my fingers crossed for the rest of the day, I guess.
Dropped in three crates of 50 adv bio controllers, adv liquid suspensions, and chemical mechs. Added 600 organic, 600 inorganic. Factory made a crate of 50 stim B's, no stopping, no items eaten. This never worked for me before.
Running 200 adv bio controllers next, so if it stops because I didn't redeed, I'll be sure to mention it here.
Yes... I would like to know -- to redeed or not to redeed. Did everyone whose factories are now working re-deed first? I find that hard to believe.
Can anyone confirm or deny that factories are _not_ working after the patch unless you re-deed?
GPF.
And it pulls from crates without priming! HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY!
Factories seem to be working fine now. They will pull from crates, no problem. *gasp* They don't stop at 100. *gasp*
I ran 200 through a factory and it made 200!!
BTW: You can still make a schematic for 1000 and run 1000 components if you desire. I put in a run for 500 Adv CRDM's, we'll see if it makes them all ok. (I did 200 Adv BEC's and they were made without a hitch)
FYI: To make a 1000 unit schematic, just type in an additional 0 on the end. This will work. For fun, try to type 2 zeros and it'll indicate indirectly that it was designed for up to 1000.

Well the patch notes do state quite explicitly:
"You may need to redeed to see the fixes. "
In other words, you can run a factory without redeeding, but if it has problems redeed before trying to say there really is a problem with the factories. Or at least that's how I would read it. So pre-patch factories may still work, but if they don't try to redeed them.
if you happen to remember a post by holocron (i think), he said that you should re-deed after every patch that has anything to do with factories.
Wow, that's great news indeed.
We just got a factory yesterday, so timing couldn't be better!
