Thread: IM A GREEDY DOC
On many servers this isn't possible without losing money. The way resources like avian meat have shot up in price, it is hard to make buffs cheap. Plus why sell buffs for 6k? You'd make next to nothing compared to what youcould make running missions on Dantooine.

Everything isnt about making fast money you know?
Sure I could ask 10k or even 15k and most ppl would still pay. Here is some calculations I made. On naritus it isnt hard to get a crate of good buffs with 5 packs in them for 100k. Each pack has 25 uses. That means that even if I only ask for 6k I will have earned 150k from 1 single pack, so the other 4 packs of 25 uses will be pure profit for me.
Sure, I like making a profit but with those kinda numbers it would feel like I am cheating my customers if I asked for a higher price.
If I want to make fast money I will run those missions on dant myself. I am a doc to help others

I get alot of happy reactions that way, isnt being a doc all about helping others?
I used to give it away to new players and people whom I thought neededit. But I found that inhalfthe time, I created monsters in these players, especially the new ones. They start EXPECTING you to give them free/under-priced items ALL the time and they whine about having to do anythingremotelyresembling putting in effort. They even get their friends topester you asking for free stuff. I hadnewbies bringing groups offriends all the way to my city, all togged out in full compo, tellingme to buff them all for FREE. Not to escape the lines, but to come for a FREE buff that they felt was owed to them because I was a doc that could afford to under-charge or give stuff away free (that's partly how we get the "rich doctor" image). Theysometimes proceed to harass me with abusive tells about how doctors are the richest profession in SWG and how I was a selfish***** because I had decided that enough was enough. And not just once too. LOL.
So happy reactions, yes. But helping them? Not necessarily, especiallyin the long-run.
I don't know about you, but I became a doc in SWGbecause my team needed one and I liked the cool stuff we could do. It definitely isn't "all" about helping others. Most of us choose professionsbecause it enhances our enjoyment of the game (grinding or not), altruismseldom has anythingto do with it.Players equate us to real-life doctors and cast similar expectations on us. For those who feel that way, sorry, but this isn't real-lifeand I don't play SWG simply to serve your needs.

Absolute agreement here. Play according to how you want to.
And for thosenew docs who come into this board asking how they can make lots of money fast being a doc because you thought/heard that docs make more money, faster, and with less effort than anyone else, you are posting in the wrong forum. Go check out a combat profession forum.

Try taking up Doc on Kettemoor, where people **edit** and leave if you charge 12K. No, I'm not kidding.
15K is about the most you could POSSIBLY charge, and even so, you had better be the ONLY doc in town if you expect to get away with that. 20K will just get you laughed at unless you're going out've your way.
Then simply stand up and start walking away. Trust me, if you're the only doc in town, they'll pay whatever you demand. People in this game are so addicted to buffs that most wouldn't be able to survive half an hour outside a starter town without them. I recently started working on a Smuggler on a different server from my MDoc, and he only uses brandy and his own spices unless taking part in a large scale PvP event/raid. Now, the game is exciting again, and with the reinstated NPC specials, dangerous and potentially deadly. Just the way I like it.
i was on dathomir and saw LOTS OF PPL and not a single doc buffing
so i decided lets give it a try see if it works
i sit down get my droid out set up my stand and edit my macro
"Master Doc Buffin 2400+ 3:16 hours 17k imperials 19k rebels and neutrals"
sudenly i had a fair line of 4-5 ppl wating for a buff
some guy started laughing at my face and insulting me
you F*** thief 19k **edit** is your problem? your riping every one .... blablabla i think you know the rest
starts spamming about me being a thief and an ass hole and....and.... (odd thing my line is double the size now 10-15 ppl in line)
20 minutes later who do i find in line waiting for a 19k buff??? exacly the a** hole who called me a thief
to piss him off even more i edited my macro just for him /evilgrin
"Master Doc Buffin 2400+ 3:16 hours 17k imperials 19k rebels and neutrals 25k for wookies"
made lots of money that night but that was an exeption that no other doc was around and there was an abundance of ppl there
i usually charge like the rest of us DOCS 10k-15k depending on the competition and 30k-40k for a field buff
im also in the progress of making janta buffs
everything i have to make them is OQ 950+ PE 900+
items missing dant berries with OQ over 900
and janta blood (4 sets of 4 identical jars and 1 set of 3 identical jars)
send email with ressource and price of these items if you want to sell them to Squal'Zell
